Chapter 7
Ella’s POV
“Look who we got here?” A man steps inside the cell along with a group of rogues. “Moon Goddess has sent us a beautiful gift.” He smiles, looking at me as recognition flash in his eyes.
“I am Emmet, my lady.” He dips his head with a charming smile, “And it is an honor to meet you.”
He looks like he is in his early twenties, but looks can be deceptive. If I hadn’t known what malice lies behind his face, I would have called him handsome. His golden hair almost gives him an angelic look.
However, the stench coming off him is not making it difficult to tell that he is anything but an angel.
The rotten smell of him is a giveaway of his rotten soul.
“You are the one who is behind all this.” Holding his gaze unflinchingly, I stare at him impassively.
I can read in his eyes that he knows who I am. So there is no need to hide myself now.
Unleashing my alpha power, I glare at him challengingly when I feel he is trying to dominate me with his powers.
His smile falters from his face as a surprise look passes over his features. Regaining his composure, he nods his head to himself while grinning at me.
“You are not as weak as I have thought.” He slowly moves his eyes up and down my body making me want to claw his eyes, “You and me, we can be together. We will be the most powerful mates.”
“Have you sacrificed your tiny brain to the evil spirit as well?” I smirk when he clenches his jaws, clearly not happy with being insulted.
“You don’t know, little girl, what I can do. So, don’t try to challenge me.” His eyes turn cold as he glares at me. “I can take you right here, right now, with or without your will. And you will not be able to do anything.”
Blaze growls at his threat, ready to behead him, but I control her.
“I dare you to try.” Meeting his gaze squarely, I raise my head.
I smile smugly when sweats appear on his forehead while his power doesn’t affect me in the slightest.
However, then a dark look appears on his face as suddenly the air around me changes.
The next moment strange sensation overtakes the room, and then I hear the painful screams of Tammy.
He smiles, watching Tammy writhing in pain.
I growl, feeling immense anger.
“If you don’t want her to suffer, then you will come to me.” He keeps his stare at me, “Otherwise, everyone will suffer.”
Everyone in the room, apart from him and his men, begins to scream in agony.
He sensed that I was immune to his powers, so now he has directed his power on them to weaken me.
Staring at the ground, I close my eyes as I gather my powers and begin to form a protective circle around them. As soon as I create the shield, the screams instantly die down. After making sure Tammy is okay, I turn to look at Emmet.
I wanted to make him suffer as much as these people have suffered. I want to make him feel every pain that he inflicted on these people.
A part of me is struggling to come out, but I try to resist it because I sense this part will cause destruction.
Never hate your darkness. It is a part of us so accept it. Just like our light, darkness is also our strength. To protect, we need light, but to destroy, we need darkness. Sometimes to eliminate the evil, we have to let out the darkness which resides within us.
Suddenly, I recall mom’s words when Elena was struggling to accept her true self. Mom’s words decide for me, and just like that, something snaps in me.
A feeling of liberation takes over me as soon as I let out a part of me that I have kept caged for so long. A different power runs through my veins, which only demands annihilation.
Earlier, thinking about such feelings used to scare me, but now I can sense the hidden power which these feelings carry.
“Remember not to leave anyone alive.” Looking briefly at the werewolves who are itching to kill these bastards, I turn my gaze back to Emmet.
As if they were waiting for my command, instantly, they shift into their wolves and attack the rogues.
The sound of tearing of flesh and breaking of bone mixed with the crying of these rogues are music to my ears. However, what will truly give me satisfaction is when I will hear Emmet’s screams.
A wicked smirk plays on my lips when I meet Emmet’s eyes. He doesn’t indulge in the fight as he keeps his eyes trained on me. His jaws tense while his lips begin to move in a silent chant.
He is summoning the evil energies. It should have worried me, but if anything, this only excites me. There is foreign confidence in me, while the power I feel is something I have never experienced before.
Contentment blooms inside my heart when I see lifeless mutilated bodies of rogues. Closing my eyes, I hum in satisfaction, liking the feel of being surrounded by death.
Abruptly, I feel something striking me causing me to open my eyes. I gaze at Emmet’s surprised expression when he finds me smiling.
He has just tried to use his powers against me.
But what he doesn’t know is that his powers will not weaken me. Instead, they will strengthen me because darkness feeds on darkness.
My smile turns sinister as I raise my hand in his direction. My palm burns with energies as I call my powers forward.
His face scrunches up as he tries to counter my powers. But before he can attack me, I begin to absorb his powers.
I don’t know how I am doing this, but this feels as natural as breathing.
Black fumes travel his body towards me and begin to forms a circle around me. I am experiencing the kind of power which makes me feel invincible.
I can feel the evil energies settling inside me as I absorb more and more darkness from him.
He glares at me with pure hatred, while his face holds agony as I make him live the pain which these people have gone through.
Slight panic coats his features as he begins to lose his strength, but quickly masking it, he tries to fight back.
Mental suffering is stronger than any physical pain. I want him to suffer in the worst way possible, so I increase the pressure on his skull. I want to explode his head where all this evil lies and write the story of his destruction with his blood.
Holding his head, he screams, making me smile. A crazy grin appears on my face when his ears and nose begin to bleed.
Suddenly, he vanishes before my eyes. But I can sense his presence, so I decide to go after him before he can go far away.
“Steven, take care of Tammy,” I order while following Emmet outside.
He doesn’t know how much we love the chase, and he has just made this even more entertaining for us.
My wolf licks her upper teeth in anticipation to feast on him when we end this chase. She wants to take over, but I hold her back.
However, as soon as I step outside, suffocation encases my chest. He has covered this whole place with a spell so that no one can find about his whereabouts.
Picturing the shield around this place, I concentrate on that. In my mind, I imagine breaking it. Once or twice I feel like hitting a block, making me frustrated.
Taking a deep breath, I refocus on the shield and try to break it. However, this time it worked as I felt it shattering like glass.
The air around me feels lighter, and I hear the sound of soft thuds and footsteps nearing the area. Maybe the help was around, but they weren’t able to locate this place.
I gasp when something sharp pierces my side.
“Bitch, you should not have ruined everything which I had worked for.” I hear Emmet’s voice near my ear as he wraps his arm around my neck and again stabs my side, “Now you will die.”
A sudden vivacious growl resonates throughout the area, causing me to halt my movement. A moment later, an extraordinarily large brown wolf appears from behind the trees. His brown fur is so dark that it almost resembles dark chocolate, entirely contrasting his unusual eyes color.
His eyes are bright yellow. It almost seems like they are glowing.
Revealing his canines, he growls furiously and charges in my directions. Emmet pushes me away from him and attempts to run.
That magnificent wolf lunges in the air, quickly covering the distance between us, and moves past me with a blinding speed, and captures Emmet.
He holds Emmet’s head between his teeth, and then he turns to glance at me. He lightly growls, snapping me out of my shock as if he is asking my permission.
He looks deadly, but there is something familiar about him. A smile makes its way on my lips even though I am in extreme pain. This wolf momentarily made me forget about my pain as I give him a weak nod.
And without even breaking eye contact, he closes his jaws and separate’s Emmet’s head from the rest of his body. Spitting the head near my feet, he glances at me, bearing his blood-covered teeth.
“Good job,” I whisper with a smile.
Blood gushes out of my wound when I pull the blade from the side. Placing my hand on my wound, I try to stop the bleeding. But I am too weak to heal myself.
The pain completely overtakes my body as my vision begins to blur. My eyes roll back into my head as I find myself falling to the ground.
However, before losing consciousness, I feel lifted from the ground as someone speaks in my ear.
"I have got you, little Alpha."
