Chapter 4
Ella’s POV
Whenever I have done anything spontaneous in the past, I have always felt a strange excitement. But tonight, it is not just excitement, but there is a feeling of determination bubbling inside me.
I don’t get why I am feeling this way, but something in me asks to help all those captured people. I feel obligated. It is stupid, but I know they need me.
Covering my eyes with a blindfold, one of the rogues pushes me on a wolf’s back, instantly making me growl. But then I feel a prick on my arm, and slowly I lose my consciousness.
I don’t know how long has passed, but I can tell I am far away from home. My entire body is engulfed in strong warmth, while the sense of worry and anger is settled somewhere inside me.
These feelings are not mine. These feelings are coming from mom and dad. This instantly makes me guilty because they are so much worried about me. But I know I have done the right thing.
Mom must be using all her power to keep me safe that’s why even after being away from her, I can sense the protective warmth of her around me.
She knows I can protect myself, but this never stops her from trying to keep me safe. I wish there were a way I could tell them that I am fine. Focusing on their energies, I try to send calming feelings to them. I don’t know if they could sense it or not, but I can just hope that it works.
I feel someone nudging my side, causing me to shake off the weariness. It takes a few moments for me to gain consciousness, but when I am fully awake, the first thing that strikes me is the revolting smell in the air.
I nearly gag when I inhale for the second time. If I earlier felt any effect of the drug, this smell instantly removed all its traces.
Then again, I feel someone lightly shaking me. Startle, I open my eyes and find a girl standing beside me, looking at me with hopeful eyes.
She looks like she is probably ten years old. Her cheeks are stained with dry tears and dirt. However, this doesn’t dull the brightness of her big green eyes.
“Hey.” I smile at her softly then look around the empty room to see no one else other than us.
The room is filthy is an understatement. There is a pile of garbage in the corner of the room, and I can bet the public toilet floor would be cleaner than the floor of this room.
Thankfully, there is a small bed on which I am sitting, which seems much cleaner than anything else in this room.
“Are you an angel?” She asks timidly.
“Huh?” I frown a little in confusion.
“Mom always tells me if I need something, I should pray to Moon Goddess. She will fulfill my every wish.” She blinks innocently, reminding me so much of my Thea, “I have prayed to Moon Goddess to send an angel to take me back to my mom. So did Moon Goddess send you to save me?”
“What’s your name, sweetheart?” I ask in a soft voice.
“Tammy.” She smiles sweetly. “And what is your name?”
I am a little skeptical about revealing my real name because I don’t want anyone to put two and two together and figure out who I am. But then I don’t want to lie to her.
My wolf hums in agreement, and this makes me so happy.
“I am... Blaze.” Smiling at her, I proudly tell her my wolf name.
My wolf and I have a very close bond. Unlike most of the other werewolves, we don’t have any kind of clashes. We have almost same personalities, and the differences which we share compliments each other.
We get along with each other great, I am so glad to have Blaze as my wolf.
And I am so glad to have you as my human.
Blaze replies me, making my smile to slightly widen.
“So, are you an angel?” She again asks while settling beside me.
“Ummm... I am sorry, Tammy, I am not an angel.” I shake my head lightly.
Oh, we can be death angel. We are beautiful and strong, and can kill the evil ruthelessly.
I smirk when I hear Blaze's answer somewhere she is right. My wolf is a graceful killer, I think that's the best term to describe her. While things mostly gets messier, when I hunt in my human form.
“So no one is going to save me and take me back to my mom.” Tears gather in her eyes while a sad look appears on her face. “Maybe I am a bad girl; that’s why Moon Goddess didn’t fulfill my wish.” She sniffles as a few tears roll down her cheeks.
My smile drops from my lips as soon as I hear Tammy's words.
“Hey, no crying.” Holding her face, I wipe her tears, “Who says no one is going to save you?”
“I am going to save you.” I look into her eyes.
“But you are not an angel, and I asked Moon Goddess to send an angel.” She frowns in confusion, “So how are you going to save me?”
“Well, Moon Goddess has sent me to you because she knows that to defeat evil, you have to be equally powerful as them,” I smirk, already liking the idea of how my wolf will tear these people.
I am definitely not an angel, but I will be their worst nightmare.
I have always believed there is a reason why Moon Goddess has blessed us with these powers. These blessings are not gifts but a responsibility.
We sacrifice a part of our being every time we use our blessings so that we never forget that if these blessings can make us powerful, then these blessings can even annihilate us.
We have to use our powers for good purposes. Otherwise, these blessings are nothing but a curse for us.
Some time ago, she fell asleep while leaning against my arm. The way she is sleeping so soundly tells me that this is her first peaceful sleep in days. But the tiredness shadowing her face, seems so foreign on a face of a little kid.
Adjusting Tammy I hold her in my arms and rest the back of my head against the wall. Tammy is a talkative girl. Once she got over her initial fear, she started talking to me non-stop.
She has told me about her every day which she has spent after being abducted. She told me that they doesn't stay in one place for long, and none of them are allowed to interacted with other hostages when they let them out these cells. They take randomly some hostages with them and some of them return and others don't.
It is not really difficult to tell what happens to those who don't return.
Sometime she hears screams of other hostages, when they are being tortured in their cells. Surprisingly, and thankfully, none of the kidnappers hurt her. But I can tell they have been mentally torturing her by making her listening to the horror of tortures. She might not even know, but she has been continuing whimpering and shaking in her sleep.
Seeing her this state, twists my heart in pain.
However, what really shatters my heart to hear the pain in her voice whenever she talks about her mother. She has been held here for ten days. I can’t imagine what must have been going through this innocent girl after being separated from her mother and trapped in this horrible place.
Gazing down at her sleeping face, I silently promise her to reunite with her mother.
