Colter's POV I stormed out of our room after what Alexa said. It just hurt so much that she didn’t want to be our Luna because she was a female Alpha. I get it I do but it's our ego she hurt. I don’t know what we're going to do because we are marked and mated, and she doesn’t want to be our Luna. Didn't she understand that when she let me mark her? I made it outside to the tree line and let Grey take control. We were running as hard as we could through the forest. I don't know how far back we were, but I felt Alexa trying to mind-link me. I quickly put up a block. I didn’t want to say something I would regret right now. We just kept going deeper and deeper. I felt her try to come through again later and I kept my block oe. Finally, we slowed down a little and found a little clearing and Grey laid down. He was panting hard from running so hard for so long. “Colter, where are you? We got a mind link from Alexa she has been taken by a vampire," Mac mind linked me. “What are you talking about?” I linked him back. “She sent a link to Julian a little bit ago and said that she was being taken by a vampire and she couldn't shift or overpower him.” My heart literally stopped thinking how she was trying to send me a link and I had her blocked because of my stupid ego. She needed me and I wasn't there. Grey let out a loud howl and took off running toward the pack house. We were so far back here that it was going to take me a little bit to get there. Grey ran as hard as he could the entire way. I got back to the tree line and found Julian, Mac, and Luca walking back out of the trees as well. I shifted and ran to them. “Where is she?" I said panting. “We are guessing the warehouse. I have trackers out on her scent. We're going to get the team together and head out” Julian said. We went back to the house, and I ran up to our room and threw on my clothes, and ran back downstairs. People were running around trying to get things together so we could leave. I wasn't waiting though. “Mac let's go. We will take my truck and meet everyone there I told him and Julian. “Colt, you have to wait fifteen minutes and we will roll out. Don't rush this or you guys will get hurt as well” Julian said “You better make it ten and then I am leaving,” I growled at him. I took off to my truck to wait for them. Mac followed me out. “Colt man wait up. You need to calm down and keep a level head.” He said to me. Iignored him and got to my truck and started it. I would be leaving in ten minutes with or without them. I still didn't answer Mac and kept wringing my hands over the steering wheel. Finally Julian and everyone else started filing out of the house anc I took off tearing through the driveway. It was at least an hour's drive to get there. “Mac she has to be ok. It's my fault she was taken. She was out there looking for me and I ignored her mind links. She has to be ok” I finally told him. “She will be ok, she is the strongest woman I have ever met,” Mac said. It was quiet the rest of the way to the warehouse. I pulled in a little bit back from the warehouse and turned the truck off and jumped out. It didn't take long for everyone else to get set up. The original plan was to gas the place and then go in but with Alexa, in there I couldn't do that. “We are just going to have to storm the place. We can't gas it with Alexa in there” I told them. He just nodded and started to bark out instructions to everyone. “Mac you're with me. We go in killing anyone in our way and find Alexa.” I told him. Everyone got into position, and we stormed into the building. We got in with no problems and the first thing we saw were people in cages, they didn't discriminate against age either. There were children and old people and multiple people in each cage. People were walking around in white coats and others with guns. Mass chaos started. Bullets went flying and people were running around. Mac and I ignored them and started searching each room looking for her. We had gone through three rooms and still no sign of her. “Mac, where is she?” I growled out. I knew he didn’t know but I was just trying to hold in my rage. “She is here man, she has to be.” He said. We kept going through rooms and so far they had all been empty. “Mac split up it will go faster," I told him. He went down a different hallway than I did, and we kept going through rooms. I could hear fighting going on in the main room, but I couldn't be distracted by that. “Colt, I found her, hurry there are two vamps in here with her.” I ran in the direction that he took off and finally found them. The sight before me was sickening. They had Alexa strung up by her arms and her body was bloody and full of whip marks, her face was swollen and black and blue. I could also see bite marks all over her body. She had a steady stream of blood running down her legs as well. I ran and jumped at one of the vamps that were attacking Mac and knocked him off. We went tumbling to the ground and started to fight. I had to get my teeth into his neck and rip it out in order to kill him. I heard a few more people coming on our way. A few warriors appeared in the doorway and jumped in to help. As soon as they took over, I ran to Alexa who was mumbling something, but she was so out of it that she wasn't making sense. I went to her and tried to free her arms, but the chains were silver and locked with a key. “Look for a key, I need it to free her arms,” I yelled out and lifted Alexa, so her arms weren't bearing the weight of her. As soon as I lifted her, she started thrashing in my arms. “Princess it's ok, I am here. They aren't going to hurt you anymore.” She calmed down a little and I continued to hold her until someone came up with a key. A warrior is the one who came in with it and freed her arms for me and that’s when I saw how mangled her arm was. It was broken in several places, and she wasn't healing but that is from the vampire bites. It weakens our wolves for a few days, and she had them all over her. I ran out of the warehouse with her and it looked like they had a handle on things in here. When I got out of the building people were standing around. I ran to an open SUV and put Alexa in the back and a couple of the people that were standing out there came running behind us. “Get back” I growled at them. “Sir, we are pack doctors and here to help.” One of them said. They started working on her. Hooking up an IV and doing other things. She started to mumble again, and I got down by her head. “Princess it's ok, the doctors are helping you." “The pup. Save it" She mumbled. “What pup princess?” I asked her and as soon as she said those words her smell hit me. I was too worked up earlier to realiz it but she was pregnant. “She is pregnant. You are dealing with two lives and not one” “We need to leave she needs the hospital.” One of them yelled out. Someone got in the front and started the car, and I crawled in the back with her and just held her the best I could without causing her any pain. It was the longest drive of my life. I knew whoever was driving was going well above the speed limit, but it wasn't fast enough. “Princess just hang on for a while we will be there soon, and you will be all better.” “Ym sorry Colt. I want to be yours always and forever” She managed to get out, but it was with difficulty and her breathing was rapid when trying to speak. “Princess, I know. Just rest, I am not leaving your side. I love you." We finally arrived at the pack hospital, and she was unconscious at this time. I carefully picked her up and placed her on the gurney that was brought out to the car, and they quickly took her behind doors that I couldn't go. I walked to the waiting room and sat down but it didn't last long. I walked back to the doors that they took her behind and just paced back and forth. Grey was close to pushing forward and finding her. I had to keep pushing him back. More people started to show up and it was a zoo. People running everywhere and yelling. Finally, I spotted Mac who came running over to me. “How is she?” He asked. “I don't know they took her back there as soon as we got here, and I haven't seen her since.” “She is strong she will be ok.” He said. “What happened at the warehouse? Did you guys find Robert?” I asked him. “No, he was long gone by the time we got there. We lost a few warriors and have some that were hurt but there were so man people in cages that needed medical care. They are being brought here. There are so many that were injected with wolf or “vampire venom or both. It's bad.” I was going to kill that man slowly and painfully when I got my hands on him. “sir, I have an update on your mate.” A doctor that had walked over to me said snapping me out of my thoughts. “She is in surgery but should be out soon. They had to fix her arm and also some internal bleeding. She is going to be very slow to heal because of the vampire bites and we don’t know if any venom got into her system yet only time will tell” “And the pup?” I asked. “Sir I am sorry I am not aware of a pup or its condition.” He said. I grabbed him around the collar and threw him up against the wall. “She is pregnant. I want to know how my pup is. You have about five seconds to find out” I growled at him. Mac came over and placed his hands on my shoulders trying to pull me away from this idiot doctor. “Let this man do his job Alpha. You have to let him go.” I finally backed off and let him go. He had pure terror on his face, but he quickly ran behind the doors and disappeared again. I started to punch the wall where he had been standing, and Mac just stood back and let me. I needed some way to get some anger out right now before I snapped the head off someone. “Alpha, get a hold of yourself. Alexa is going to need you. Let's go sit down and wait." Mac said. “We walked over to the chairs and sat down and that's when all my emotions hit me. This was my fault. If I wouldn't have left her in the room or if I had let her mind links go through, I could have gone back sooner so she wouldn't have gone out there I don’t know how long we sat there when another doctor walked out and walked over to us. “Sir, your mate is out of surgery and in her own room. If you follow me, I will take you there." She said Mac and I got up and followed her to a room that was up two flights of stairs and down several hallways. The doctor opened the door and as soon as I saw her my heart broke all over again. She was lying here because of me. She was broken because of me. I was stupid and thought she didn’t want me, but she just wanted to be what she was born to be. I would let her do what she needed or wanted to after she was better. I walked over to her bed and leaned down and kissed her head and grabbed her hand and just stood there holding it for a minute. Someone pushed a chair up behind me and I sat down. “Tell me what all those filthy bloodsuckers did to her,” I asked. “sir, she has extensive whip marks all over her body, along with internal injuries from beating her, she is also covered in vampire bites. We don’t know if they released any venom.
