All I Wanted

Chapter 24

My stomach grumbled as I walked to the kitchen to rest myself a meal.

I stood by the counter debating on what to cook when my body gave up and I decided to fry some eggs since it's like the easiest and fastest food I could think of.

I brought out the necessary things I need and started to cook as an image of my dad cooking flashed through my head.

I smiled as I remembered those moments I would sit on the counter watching him cook and he would tell me funny jokes and then we would find together, I miss him so much.

“Aren't you supposed to beat the eggs?"

I was deep in my thoughts that I didn't realize that Justin was standing by the door watching me.

“Good morning" I gave him a weary smile

“You don't look good, what's wrong” he asks and I wiped the tears that was building up at the corner of my eye.

“Is it about last night, ik really sorry for behaving that way I shouldn't have, I'm sorry” he apologizes but unknown to him I wasn't even thinking about what happened last night.

“I miss my father” my voice cracked as I spoke the words out and it wasn't intentionally because I didn't want Justin to worry about me.

He rested by the door frame with his hands tucked in the pocket of his great joggers as he stares at me with pity.

He walked towards me nervously running a hand through his hair and gave me a warm hug, maybe I really needed that. “Everything is going to be okay Jane” he pats my head as I cried my heart out on his chest.

“I hope so” I murmur but he seemed to have heard.

“Go rest, Ill fry the eggs” he offers

“Okay” I replied, maybe I shouldn't have replied immediately at least I could have assisted him in the kitchen but at this point my whole body was stressed even though it's morning.

I went back to my room as I unplugged my phone which was full and over heating.

“shit” I cuss as the phone touched my bared laps, it was really hot.

Sometimes I wonder what the point of me having an expensive phone was as I don't do anything on it rather than receiving and making calls. I don't even take pictures but Justin somehow found a way to take a picture of me.

I dropped my phone on the bed as I decided to get some fresh air, maybe I'll be calm when a snow flake touches my skin.

I opened the door and the winter breeze touched my skin and I knew I made a bad choice by coming outside.

I was about to go inside when I noticed that we had mails in the mailbox so I gathered my courage and boldness as I ran towards the box to check the mails.

I hurrily grabbed all of the papers and envelopes in it as I ran back inside chattering my teeth.

“F**ki That was cold” I yell as I slammed the door behind me.

I rubbed my palms together to create a friction and the effect of the heater reached me as I started to feel warm again.Posted by FindNovel.net

The mails were not from a person in particular but they were bills for our house, I shouldn't have gone to check them I was only being curious to know if it concerns my father's whereabouts.

I rubbed my temples as I checked my bank balance and it wasn’t worth something to talk of, maybe I'll probably accept Justi offer for a job.

I tossed the mail to a corner of my room as I left to the kitchen to meet Justin.

“It's almost ready” he says and I wondered how frying just eggs could take such a while but when he dished the food I realized that he wasn't making just omelets and the sight of it made my tummy grumble and he heard it letting out a chuckle.

To admit it, Justin is really cute expecially when he chuckles and he's a great cook too, maybe I should just let down my ego and accept his offer. But this isn't about an ego is it?

I snapped out of my thought as the beautiful image of peppered omelets with fried potatoes and sauce was placed in my front.

“This looks tasty, you're such a good cook Justin” I praise him and noticed the flush in his cheeks.

“Won't you brush your tee...” He stops and laughed really hard showing his dimples when he saw my mouth full of omelets already.

“You didn't even use a cutlery” he protests

“My hand is a cutlery love” I reply and he joined me in eating.

We finished the food and we both cleared up the mess in the kitchen as I headed to the living room to watch some movies. I decided to watch the news today hoping to get information on my father's whereabouts but got none as I hopelessly left fo my room.

The light from my phone screen got my attention as I walked up to it and realized that I had three missed calls.

“Who could that be?” I wondered as I dialed the number back.

The caller picked on the second ring and my heart broke immediately I heard the voice.

“Jane are you there?” It was my Father's voice and I know I should be replying but I was short of words as tears freely ran down my cheeks.

“D...Da..Dad?” I cry into the phone and he continued.
