Chapter 75
Chapter 75 The Consequences of Angering Her
Rachel was stunned. "What do you mean..."
As she asked this question, a thought flashed across her mind as she pondered, "Could it be? But that's too absurd. I don't believe that the ever-indifferent Ethan would favor this woman to the extent I'm imagining."
However, Ethan's next response hit her hard to her core.
"Even if she did hit someone, so what? I'd only worry if her hand hurt or injured herself while doing it."
Rachel felt as if invisible knives were stabbing at her heart. Her face turned deathly pale in an instant.
She tried to speak but found her body shaking uncontrollably with anger and disbelief.
Ethan took in Rachel's reaction, but his expression remained unchanging. Yet, when he turned to Leah, a touch of gentleness appeared in his expression.
"Leah, it's okay if you hit someone, but if you get hurt in the process, that wouldn't be worth it."
As he said that, he glanced coldly at Rachel and her group and advised, "Therefore, if anyone upsets you in the future, just tell me. I'll handle it for you, so you don't have to." Ethan's words were filled with deep affection and protectiveness toward Leah.
Jealousy continued to surge within Rachel, and the intense anger made it impossible for her to maintain her fake expression, distorting her face to a terrifying extent.
"It's not that big a deal," Leah chuckled helplessly.
She mused, "Ethan spoils me too much. He's practically treating me like a child. Oh, it's not just Ethan but my parents, Justin and Luke. They all spoil me beyond measure. It's as if they aren't afraid they'll spoil me rotten."
"Not that big a deal?" Ethan looked concernedly at Leah's hand and wouldn't let go of it. "Should we goz to the hospital just to be sure?

Leah couldn't stop smiling. "No need. I'm fine."
She amusingly pondered, "All of this drama was Rachel's own doing, trying to gain your sympathy, Ethan. I never even laid a finger on her, so how can I get injured..."
"We should still go get it checked out," Ethan insisted and was about to lead Leah away.
Leah grasped his hand and said, "I told you, I'm really okay. There's no need to go."
Ethan stopped and looked at Leah, saying, "Alright, if you say so, we won't go then."
He paused before he shot Rachel sidelong glance, saying, "Remember, don't just hit any random people in the future. Her face is so dirty, you might dirty your hand or get an infection."
Leah playfully nodded. "Got it."
Rachel's face instantly turned red with rage Her body was tensed, like a bowstring pulled to its limit. The intense jealousy and hatred she felt seemed ready to burst at any moment.
Ethan then took Leah's wrist, leading her away. As they were about to enter the hall, he glanced coldly back at Rachel.
"I'll let today's incident slide for Mr. Caleb Morgan's sake. But if there's a next time, I'll make sure you know the consequences of angering me."
With that, the two tall figures then left side by side.
Rachel then recalled the gaze Ethan had given her when he left. It was as cold and emotionless as a venomous snake.
With that thought, she immediately felt a shiver run down her spine, making her feel weak in the knees. Rachel even had to lean against the wall to steady herself.
