Chapter 241 by GloryWrites

#241 “Forever And Always.”

Alexander hastened to open the door. In front of him sat Sophia in a gorgeous white dress. He smiled thinking how fitting the color was. Then he saw her serious expression.

“Alex, we need to talk before I go inside, “Sophia’s voice carried a note of urgency.

Nodding, Alexander closed the door behind him, enveloping them in a moment of privacy amidst the anticipation of the evening.

“Why is it so quiet?” Sophia’s curiosity broke through the tranquil atmosphere. “Isn’t it a party?”

“Say, what do you want to talk about, love?” Alexander deflected, attempting to keep the surprise.

“This secret,” Sophia stated firmly. “I hate it, Alexander. I wasn’t even thinking of coming tonight.”

“It’s good that it’s over now,” Alexander sighed, his heart pounding in his chest.

“What’s over? I still don’t know anything,” Sophia replied, her frustration growing.

“Close your eyes and follow me,” Alexander said gently, knowing this was the moment.

“Again?” Sophia chuckled, despite herself.

“For the last time. This will be our last secret,” he said, his voice filled with tenderness and excitement.

Sophia closed her eyes and allowed Alexander to lead her through the house. A gentle melody could be heard, but no sound indicated a party. Sophia began to worry about what was really going on here.

Alexander guided Sophia carefully, his heart racing with each step. As they reached the back of the house, he opened a door, leading her out into the garden. The moonlight cast a soft, romantic glow over the scene. In the center of the garden, there was a pathway of flickering candles leading to a beautifully decorated gazebo.

“Open your eyes,” Alexander whispered, his voice filled with emotion.

Sophia’s eyes fluttered open, and as she took in the breathtaking sight before her, her heart skipped a beat. Tears welled up in her eyes as she realized what was happening.

“Alexander…” she breathed, hardly daring to believe.

“Sophia,” Alexander said, his voice unwavering, his eyes locked with hers.” When I saw you for the first time, I didn’t know who you were, but I knew I wanted to see you again. When I came to this Villa for the first time in years and saw what you had turned it into, I knew you had made a home here. The wardrobe, the house, the furniture, everything was magnificent. Little did I know then that the woman I had seen before the court and the one who had made the house a place worthy of the gods were one and the same.”

Alexander paused and held Sophia’s trembling hands. She smiled at him, barely holding back her tears of happiness.

“When I talked to you afterward, I didn’t understand why you were rude to me, but I knew that I liked your courage. And when I realized why, I also realized how stupid I had been.

After that, every situation, and every moment spent with you was perfect. I saw you in everything, being held captive by the mob, accused of murder in London, stealing from Big Ben.”

Sophia laughed softly and Alexander smiled. He loved seeing her so excited.

“I saw you, and when your best friend got engaged, I saw you, and when you saved our company, and I saw you in the morning when you smiled at the sun that had risen. I adore every bit of it, and every day I fall more and more in love with you.”

Alexander knelt down on one knee, his eyes locked with Sophia’s, and pulled a small velvet box from his pocket. The moonlight glinted off the stunning diamond ring inside.

“Sophia, will you do me the incredible honor of being my wife? Will you stand by my side, laugh with me, cry with me, and share every moment with me for the rest of our lives?”

Sophia’s heart swelled with overwhelming love and joy as she looked into Alexander’s eyes. Tears of happiness streamed down her cheeks as she nodded, her voice barely a whisper. “Yes, Alexander, yes!”

With tears of joy in his eyes, Alexander slipped the ring onto Sophia’s finger, sealing their love and commitment to each other. He stood, pulled her into his arms, and kissed her deeply.

As they broke the kiss, Alexander whispered, “I love you more than words can say, Sophia.”

“I love you too, Alexander,” Sophia replied, her heart overflowing with love. “Forever and always.”

Their tender moment was interrupted by the sound of applause and cheers.

Turning around, they saw Evelyn and Kyle emerging from the shadows, their faces beaming with joy.

“Congratulations, you two!” Evelyn exclaimed, rushing forward to envelop them both in a warm hug.

“We couldn’t be happier for you,” Kyle added, his eyes shining with emotion.

Alexander and Sophia exchanged grateful smiles, feeling blessed to have such supportive friends by their side.

“Thank you, both of you,” Alexander said, his voice filled with sincerity. We’re so grateful to have you here with us tonight.”

“Of course, we wouldn’t miss it for the world,” Evelyn replied, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “Ah, you Sophia, you’ve been keeping us on our toes the whole time. I should have known that a lawyer like you would smell something going on.”

Sophia’s eyes widened with realization. “Wait, the secret was the proposal?”

Alexander nodded, a sheepish grin spreading across his face. “Guilty as charged.”

Evelyn gasped, clasping her hands together. “Oh, this is just too romantic! I can’t believe we were all in on it.”

Kyle chuckled, shaking his head. “And here I thought it was some grand conspiracy. Turns out it was just Alexander being a hopeless romantic.”

Sophia couldn’t help but laugh, feeling a wave of warmth wash over her. “Well, you certainly had me fooled, Alexander.

“It was worth it to see the look on your face,” Alexander said, his eyes softening as he gazed at her.

Sophia leaned in and kissed him gently, her heart overflowing with love and happiness. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
