Chapter 3
“Im sorry, Julissa. I didn’t know. How could she die? Didn’t she pretend to be sick to trick me into marrying you?“. “It’s impossible.”
Ethan looked at the photo in despair and wanted to touch it.
I pushed him away.
“Stay away from my mom.”
Eventually, I stood up.
I held the frame tightly.
I didn’t even take my luggage and limped toward the door with wounds all over.
“Julissa, don’t be like this. I didn’t do it on purpose yesterday. I didn’t know that your mom was so seriously sick.” “How about we hold another wedding? How about tomorrow? Today is OK. I’ll have someone arrange it right away!” Ethan walked up to me in panic.
He was different from before. Maybe he was scared by my expressionless face.
“Ethan, I didn’t know either.”
Linda gently pulled his sleeve.
Ethan seemed not to hear her and just stared at me. “Julissa, can you give me a chance to make amends?”
I tilted my head and looked at him.
I had loved him for six years.
I gave up everything and loved him for six years.
It was time to end if.
“Here is the money you’ve given us over the years. We haven’t spent a cent of it. It’s all here. The password is your birthday. That’s it. We’re even.”
I closed the window and picked up my phone to call the police.
Soon, the police came to disperse the people downstairs for the reason of disturbing the public, and I sued Ethan for defamation.
I never accepted his proposal.
Ethan cooperated and went to the police station, waiting to see me in the mediation room.
However, he saw my lawyer.
My request was simple.
I asked him to retract all the news about me marrying him..
Otherwise, I would sue him.

The lawyer told me that Ethan had no interest in anything because he hadn’t met me. Fortunately, Ethan’s lawyer was clear–minded and agreed to do everything on Ethan’s behalf immediately.
That night, I quietly left my hometown.
I moved to another city and found a job.
To not be humble beside Ethan, I had been working hard in the past.
I took every chance to learn.
I even took the initiative to learn a lot about the work of the Stewart Group.
Therefore, I would not be looked down upon by anyone.
It turned out that was the cornerstone of my career.
In just one month, my boss noticed me.
I was even assigned full responsibility for a project.
It was a surprise to me, as I had expected this to happen at least a quarter later.
However, I didn’t know what was going on until I saw Party A.
