After Grandma Died I Gave Up Loving Him by Cynthia Young

Chapter 8

chapter 8

“Aren’t you very arrogant? Why don’t you fight back?”

“Hahahaha! Serves you right!”

Seeing her in so much pain, I looked crazed and felt extremely happy.

I really wanted to strangle her to death,

if Sheldon hadn’t forcibly pulled me away.

“Cynthia, killing is against the law! If you’re unwell, go get help!”

Lindsay took the opportunity to hide in his arms, crying.

I sat on the ground in a daze, and tears started to fall as I laughed. “Sheldon, aren’t we going to withdraw the supplies? Go ahead. Anyway, my grandma doesn’t need them anymore.”

I pointed to the beach and said, “See? What Lindsay just threw down were my grandmother’s ashes.”

“She’s gone. Are you satisfied that I won’t bother you anymore?”

When my grandmother was alive, she would ask us to go back and have dinner with her during the holidays.

I know there were only two of us at home, and after I left, she was so lonely with no one to talk to.

I went back alone, and later Sheldon camé along.

Until Lindsay appeared.

The number of times he went home with me gradually decreased. When I mentioned it, he always gave a perfunctory answer, “Okay, I’ll definitely come next time, but I’m too busy.”

What was he busy with? Of course, the scandal with Lindsay and attending various events.

In the end, I said it so many times that he became impatient and said, “It’s just a meal. It doesn’t matter who with.”

But grandma really liked him.

Every time Sheldon came, she couldn’t stop smiling, and the dishes she cooked could fill the entire table.

Of course, Sheldon extended his affection from me to my grandma as well.

When he loved me most, he would even help grandma plant rice, loosen the soil, and feed the chickens and ducks.

He is such a clean person that he didn’t mind the dirt when doing these things and always had a smile.

Later, everything changed.

It was not that Sheldon didn’t realize he had changed, he just thought I wasn’t that important anymore. There was no need to visit grandma either.

Even worse, he had learned to use my grandma to force me to submit to him.

I suddenly realized he was no different from the person who bullied me in the past.

Sheldon obviously didn’t expect me to say that, and was stunned for a moment, “Cynthia, stop lying to me!”

I just looked at him and smiled.

He hurriedly picked up his phone and made a call, “Have you reached the border town?”

“There is an old lady named Harley in the hardest–hit area. How is she doing now?”

He turned on speakerphone, and I could hear clearly the other end, “Sheldon, I was just about to tell you that she is Cynthia’s grandmother. Unfortunately, she is no longer alive.”

My heart frembled.

Even though so many days had passed, I was still heartbroken hearing the news that grandma had passed away. His face turned pale instantly and he quickly hung up the phone.

He pushed Lindsay away, ran to my side, and said helplessly, “Cynthia, please, let me explain…”

He moved his lips, but found he couldn’t say anything.

What was there to explain?

I had told him before.

I had asked him before.

But at that time, he was with Lindsay.

Apparently, he thought of that too.

The pain and resentment that had been suppressed for so long burst out at this moment.
