Chapter 371 What a Coincidence

Candy's eyes widened in shock.

"Are you really pregnant?"

Seeing Chloe nod, Candy glanced at Quinn beside her with sympathy in her eyes.

"Chloe, it's okay. It's fine to be pregnant, and we can raise this baby. It's not a big deal, and I'll be the dad and you'll be the mom!"

Chloe took a sip of water quietly and said calmly, "I'll do what we talked about before, and I'll keep the baby, but we still need to get a divorce." Quinn's eyes were filled with surprise when he heard that.

"I can raise this child. I can be a single mom, and the child will take my last name. No big deal."

Chloe's tone was extremely calm, as if she had thought of everything concerning her baby in the future.

"Yeah, you're right! We have plenty of money, and we're not worried about raising a kid. We don't need that evildoer who is a father in name only!" Candy chimed in quickly.

Quinn hesitated for a moment before saying, "So when are you going to get a divorce?"

"I have to get a divorce before my pregnancy is revealed."

She would be found pregnant soon, a month or two at the most.

"Will that evildoer let you go?"

Chloe wasn't really sure, and she wasn't thinking about it at all right now.

The only alternative was the way James had said.

If Chloe couldn't think of anything better, she'd have to go with that plan.

It was silent for a few seconds.

Candy was the first to break the ice.

"I'm going to be the baby's godmother. I'm not working today, and I'm going to buy some clothes for him!"

"Candy, you don't even know if it's going to be a boy or a girl," Jessica said awkwardly.

But it didn't dampen Candy's enthusiasm in the least.

"I'll get one for each gender!"

Jessica was stunned. "Sure enough, Candy is a rich woman!"

"By the way, Jessica, the funding for you has been normalized."

As she got that bank card back, Chloe instantly resumed funding Jessica.

Jessica, however, waved her hand and said, "No need. I have exactly enough money right now, and I'm on your team, so I'll get paid every month, too!" "Who told you we're getting paid every month?"

Candy's words shocked Jessica.

"Huh? Won't we get paid?"

"No, but you can take on projects on your own, and our team only gets paid if we take orders."

It wasn't a fixed job.

Chloe looked at Jessica's dumbfounded expression. "We agreed I'd fund it until you finished college, just as it was before."

Jessica was moved to cover her trembling mouth.

"But before Candy goes shopping, are you supposed to tell me when I get to meet your mysterious boyfriend?"

They had already agreed before, but why did Jessica change the time over and over again?

As soon as Candy heard this, she instantly got angry and said, "Stop it. We've already broken up."

Her decisive answer surprised the other three.

"Really? Wasn't everything fine with you two a few days ago?"

Candy averted her eyes. "It's just a man. I'll get the next one if I get tired of him. There's nothing wrong with breaking up."

People shouldn't be trapped in love.

Chloe felt doubtful inside, but she didn't say anything in the end.

"Chloe, follow me somewhere."

Chloe looked up at Candy.

Half an hour later, the two stopped in front of a fancy restaurant.

"Did you just ask me to come and have dinner with you?"

"Well, it tastes great. Let's go inside!"

Chloe always thought Candy was causing some trouble, so she followed Candy into the restaurant.

"I would like one each of sushi, foie gras, and freshly grilled eel, please."

Candy barely checked the menu and directly ordered the dishes.

The waitress was extremely nice. "Okay, lady, hold on a second."

Only after the waitress left the private room did Chloe say, "Is this your home?"

Why was she so familiar with this place?

Candy was suddenly a bit shy. "I've only been here twice."

When the door to the private room was pushed open, a man in a chef's uniform walked in, his hands carrying all the ingredients for the sushi that would be made in a few moments. Candy was instantly thrilled at the sight of him, even as her eyes filled with affection.

"Mr. Clark, what a coincidence!"
