After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael)

Chapter Divorcing 367

Chapter 367 Wearing a Fake

Cathy was skeptical about whether Chloe was wearing a genuine piece, especially after gossiping a lot with her friends. So, they invited Wesley over.

They all wanted to see for themselves whether Chloe was actually wearing a fake.

Without any tools to verify the necklace on the spot, Wesley couldn't tell if the necklace Chloe wore was real or not.

"Can't believe it. Mrs. Shawn is actually wearing a fake!"

"How could she even show up at this launch event without fearing being blacklisted by the Opal Group? Would she ever be able to buy anything from them again?"

"Do you think she could afford it? Not buying their products for the rest of her life doesn't seem to make much difference to her."

The crowd was buzzing with comments as Wesley stood in front of Chloe, his eyes filled with apology.

"Sorry, Ms. Nelson, I can't clear your name right now."

This necklace was the highlight of the Opal Group's collection this season.

He had to remain diligent and responsible.

He couldn't just claim the necklace was genuine just because Chloe had helped him before.

Chloe just smiled. "It's okay. It's clear someone is targeting me. Your explanation won't change anything."

Once doubt was sown, the accusation stuck.

At that moment, James also came to stand by Chloe's side. "You're my employee. Don't worry. I won't let anyone bully you."

Chloe turned to look at him. "What else? Are you going to throw them into Mythica's minefield?"

James chuckled softly, "No need for that. I brought a gun."

Chloe was stunned, catching the seriousness in his eyes.

She thought, "Is he serious?"

"Don't be reckless!"

They were not in some foreign countries.

Meanwhile, wearing custom black leather shoes, Michael approached Chloe.

Before anyone could react, he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm not sure what my wife has done to upset you all this much?" Seeing Michael, the crowd hesitated.

Except for the young lady who had been badgering Chloe, who boldly said, "Mr. Shawn, your wife brazenly wears a fake at the event. Isn't that a bit disrespectful to the Jenkins family?" Michael raised an eyebrow slightly. "Who said my wife was wearing a fake?"

As the crowd couldn't provide any evidence to prove the necklace was fake and Wesley was unable to determine its authenticity, a man in a bright pink vest with shocking pink hair entered the banquet hall. "Everyone, sorry I'm late!"

Everyone turned to look at him as they heard his voice.

When they recognized him, they all showed signs of surprise.

This was Gavin Reed, the exclusive designer for the Opal Group from Alscia.

"What's all the excitement about? What are you whispering? I want to hear it too!"

Gavin moved through the crowd, his large eyes blinking with curiosity.

But everyone was tongue-tied. Nobody spoke.

"Why aren't you speaking? Don't you like me?"

Chloe was somewhat speechless.

Finally, Michael spoke up, "Gavin, they claim the necklace my wife is wearing is fake. You're the designer. Why don't you take a look?"

Gavin paused, straightened up, and looked towards Michael's side.

When he saw Chloe, his eyes lit up. "Wow, your dress is really beautiful!"

"Thank you!"

Chloe nodded and replied politely.

"Mr. Reed, there are only three sets of this piece. How come she's wearing one!"

Cathy, still frustrated, spoke up defiantly with cheeks puffed out.

Gavin turned to look at her. "Why can't she wear it? If not on her, should it be on you instead?"
