Absolute Chaos

Chapter 46.

Shesmu’s soul crept amid gases and mists, moving above the obliterated city, feeding off the ghosts that now littered the once great city of Otamia. Thousands of lost souls roamed aimlessly throughout the anguish and suffering whilst Shesmu floated above them, breathing in the sweet scent of their savage deaths.

He finally reached the top of the hillside, his foul soul glided amid the rubble, he could smell an extremely evil presence had recently been here underneath all the chaos.

Moving as mist through the tonnes of mighty stones, his spirit slipped through the harsh rock faster, pausing to steal all the dead’s pain as he went. Both human and dog alike were crushed under the rubble, he relished in their demise, knowing their master had left them and was very far from Earth by now.

Shesmu followed the mans putrid scent throughout the thick rubble, tasting it as he went. The stench led him to a vast web of caves that lay towards the northernmost side of Otamia, sitting high in the hillside, away from the massive new sand dunes.

He wove through the dark maze, until he came to the foul odour he sought.

Dark relief flooded Shesmu’s spirit and swarmed around the foul man he had found. The man was completely broken, his brawn lay crushed and moaning, searing with pain. His limbs were snapped in unfathomable positions, his rank breath barely a whisper from his vile lips.

The mans wicked soul still dwelt inside him, too selfish to leave his bloodless flesh, still forcing his black heart to pump his tainted blood throughout him.

Shesmu swore he heard Chaos screaming as his soul shot into the evil below him, coalescing with his core and strangling the foul man’s mind.

Every evil deed Shesmu had ever done he pushed inside the broken man, every foul thought ever concocted he squeezed between his flesh, feeding his near corpse a constant stream of darkness and death.

The foul beings heart began to pump faster, although slowly at first, clotted dark blood began to sludge and slide through the mans veins, healing his rancid flesh.

His bones distorted, cracked and snapped. Wild fury spun from within him in a huge gust of rage and the man tore clean through the huge rocks, smashing from the dark cave and shattered into the dark nights air.

Araphel now stood high above the dead city, all Otamia’s ghosts scattered beneath the shadows at the vile sight. Shesmu’s soul found his sanctuary, buried deep within this depraved dark spirit, the King of Otamia ruling again.

The King of the fallen city vowed to find what was left of his people, he would take back their minds and their souls, again filling them with his darkness.

Throwing his head to the skies, Araphel roared. Pure hate spewed from his essence, chilling the warm nights air with his sin.

Low growls and whining came from all around, hundreds of hounds crept out from the sands, cowering towards their new master.

One stood out from the rest of the pack, he was much larger than the others dogs, his scent different from the rest.

The oversized jackal stalked towards his new master, his black matted coat bristling with awe and uncertainty. Now reaching his feet, the beast bowed to the ground and Araphel stroked cold fingers through his foul fur.

The instant he touched him, he could read his soul, feel all his fears. Araphel pushed his darkness further into the canines black blood, searching his vile heart, tearing at his core.

“Well hello there boy!, I thought it was you!.....” The ‘great’ King of Otamia scratched Lykus behind the ears, his wicked laugh heard for miles, echoing endlessly over the dark shadows of the Nile.

The mighty jackal cried mournfully by his masters side, the darkness moving further amidst his already overwhelming sin.
