Absolute Chaos

Chapter 45.

Amaunet hurtled through the freezing depths of space, Am-heh and Arawn squirmed and writhed deeper into her soul trying to hide from the inevitable.

She had now reached ‘The Void’. This was the dark, lonely, endless space of nothing that loomed above the ever expanding cosmos, floating and mixing the finite time with infinity, having its own laws and physics.

At first panic swarmed like angry bees, great hot waves of terror pulsed within, she could feel Am-heh’s and Arawn’s fear and hate bite into her flesh, struggling inside her, suffocating in the pitch black.

Then a sudden pain gripped her Chaos within, smashing it with such terrible fury she felt both Am-heh and Arawn’s vile spirits ripped violently from her internal hold and hurled inside the black space of nothingness.

Her creator had come, snatched the foul Gods souls from within her own spirit, Chaos was insane with repulsion and rage, it swelled around both rancid souls in a sickening whirl of maddening fury. Amaunet could not help but watch in both disgust and fascination as Chaos raged into her furious tempest, spinning wildly into a thick, black, inky sludge, filling both foul Gods with her mighty wrath.

Chaos sucked Am-heh’s and Arawn’s terrified spirits into her dark Hell of infinite pain and death. Here they would live an eternity of agony and degradation, torn, beaten and raped, in a loop of utter madness, eternally and forever more.

Now floating aimlessly, Amaunet was snapped away from the entrance to Hell and flung back into the sweet flow of Chaos’s ageless arms. She would be at Azure-Alkun very soon, she longed to see her magnificent home again, yet not as much as she yearned for Raijen, her heart cracked and shattered at the thought of him.

To see his perfect face so full of fear and devastation flooded Amaunet with a sadness so profound it took all of her courage to do what needed to be done. Nonetheless, she did not have a choice, Am-heh and Arawn did not belong on Mother Earth, their souls could not be left to roam her magnificent lands.

Her creator had come, snatching Amaunet from the stream of insane colours with a sudden great ‘Whoosh’ and was ripped from reality and now floated in a serene dark stream.

Chaos moved inside her mind, lulling her, overwhelming her. Her sweet voice consumed Amaunet, the soulful sound filling each dark void of her mind and pulsing throughout her Divine blood. Her melody was that of timeless beauty, it flowed and swayed within the pure Goddess, devouring her mind and her whole existence.

Amaunet was gliding aimlessly in empty blackness, she could not see a thing, no light existed here, only a calm black space. This was the place were Chaos all began, this was the black void where ‘nothing’ became ‘something’, the primordial turmoil of Chaos.

As Chaos swelled inside her mind she gave Amaunet a choice, a difficult choice, one she never thought could be possible, however she did not hesitate with her decision, knowing what she wanted right away.

Suddenly Amaunet was filled with a swarming terror, her creators enchanting melody turned to darkness, shattering her soul with an ear splitting scream, her woeful tune splintered each thought that had ever moved within the Goddesses mind, obliterating all of them instantly into nothing.

The dark inky void of the deep black calm had slipped away from her now, she was falling through an ageless darkness, falling to her ultimate destiny.

Sitting up slowly, dazed, Amaunet awoke under a huge shady tree, its large green leaves hiding her small frame from the twilight above.

Strange mists formed inside her mind, fracturing all thought, whilst desperately trying to knit back together, then unraveling to nothing.

For quite some time Amaunet lay there, dazed and confused, trying to focus on the spray of silver stars through the giant leaves and wondered if Earth was floating up there among them.

At first Amaunet believed she had awoken from a strange dream, a dream of Chaos, death, love and darkness. In this dream she was given a choice, however her wish had not been granted.

The dark dusk swirled around her, she lay under the near darkness of nightfall, the surreal beauty swelling amid her, moving within.

As she stared above, each memory slowly stitched themselves together, working their way back through her dark mind, merging with each tiny atom and nerve, filling her consciousness with colour.

This was no dream, Amaunet had awoken on Azure-Alkun underneath the timeless dark twilight of her amazing home.

Sitting too quickly, head swirling, stomach lurching, not feeling herself, her body did not move like fluid, it was tender in places, each bone seemed to ache, fresh scars burned over her flesh.

Although, she felt alive and fresh, though strange, the pain was not so unbearable now that she stood, her body shook a little too hard, holding the trees trunk for support.

Trying to clear her head, Amaunet leaned further onto the large trunk, its smooth bark slipping from under her sweaty palm. It took her a few moments to realise the puzzling texture of the tree on which she leant. The huge vipens of Azure-Alkun had a rather rough texture to their bark, but this tree was different, it was smooth, unlike the vipens, completely different to them.

Staggering, almost falling from the surrounded trees, she now sighted the endless sands blanketing the Niles dark shores.

Realisation tiptoed upon her core, it was no dream. The choice Chaos gave her was that of her own and she chose without hesitation to stay on Mother Earth, choosing Raijen over her wings, her intense pure love for him mattered so much more than eternal life.

She was now mortal, human, her Divine blood a distant memory, her wings had dissolved to dust forevermore. She would live a mortals life and die a mortals death.

Amaunet knew in time it would become a faded nightmare, but for now, the huge scar on her side a timely reminder of her destiny.

Gems of exquisite design twinkled with wonder above Amaunet, darting her eyes towards the northeast, she could just see the long trail of Otamian’s fading into the distant half-light, they looked like tiny black scarabs streaming over the dark dunes, all but disappearing from her sight.

Mieli, Maia, Kaydir and Raijen would be leading the people to the lands of Akkad, taking the ‘Ark of Chaos’ to its rightful destiny.

Sand had covered the entire pyramid of Temu, it had been completely engulfed in the deserts rage. Vast dunes now lay between the mountain and what used to be Otamia’s gates. It had not just covered the huge pyramid and the temple below, it had also covered the entire grasslands as far as the eye could see.

Sadness blotted her heart, the thought of all the extraordinary animals that grazed the vast fields were gone, praying to Chaos that they had escaped as the first rumbles groaned under their feet, well before their whole world was shattered around them.

Silently Amaunet wiped the sorrow from her deep blue oceans and headed across the vast sands. The huge pyramid now somewhere below her feet, sprinting to the man she purely loved like no other, headed towards another chapter in her once infinite life.

A huge knowing grin spread across her beautiful face as she raced, the swirl of emerging butterflies moved within her, the tiny new heartbeat rapidly beat amid her core, growing stronger by the second, a part of Raijen now thriving within.

Amaunet pumped her legs faster, following the sleek grey moon down the mountainside. The Earth slowly moved through her own rapid twilight, headed quickly toward the long night, knowing that darkness would soon fall on these lands and shower the cosmos with her wonder...
