Chapter 6
Feeling silence was a serenity that Drakx couldn’t fathom. The beauty of nothingness caressed him. Weightless, warm, and comfortable. He was truly free.
“Welcome to your new existence.”
A soothing, strange voice stroked his presence. He didn’t want to be lulled now. This stage was “heavenly”, although he didn’t understand it, he embraced it.
“You will begin your serenity here.”
There it was again. So comfortable, reclining in his soul. He didn’t want to answer. He welcomed it along with all of the intensely quiet bliss. He just wanted to stay there forever. This feeling had no equal. No description that could be uttered by the most eloquent of any species had the strength to come near it.
Something sinister happened. Just as he was beginning to welcome the perpetual calm, the violent harshness of new life began to invade. It forced him into a new state of bewildering pain. The dreaded plague of consciousness stained this transformation to new life with the acid of unnatural transition. That was when he grimly realized that birth was just as painful as death.
He became familiar with his surroundings quickly. The Industrial Zone with Sensus standing over him. A blood curdling scream. Zannon standing behind Sensus. That damn mind shattering scream. He became more aware of the environment. He finally discovered that the soul burning scream stinging his ears was coming from him.
“So, how was your travel through the unholy?” Sensus asked mockingly to him when his screaming ceased. “Hope it hurt.”
“My God! I was just doing my job! Please, just let me die!” Drakx screamed into the night.
Sensus felt a satisfaction with this cry for mercy. It was orgasmic in pleasure. With a grin she couldn’t shed if a loaded gun was to her temple, she said, “Oh, You will die. You just have a little work to do first. Don’t you worry though, it’s about to get worse.”
Her hand began to glow. Another scorching blast sent Drakx plummeting into his memories to begin the cycle over.
“What is this?” Zannon said, breaking her attention, and derailing her train of thought.
“Hey big brother,” she said. “I’ve missed you so.”
“Sensus, we are flesh, how?”
Sensus looked lovingly at her brother. “Father blessed us with a few extraordinary attributes. We have a transformation after three years. It is beautiful.”
“Attributes? What type of attributes?” Zannon queried, still shaking off his mental stagnation.
Sensus ran into her brother’s arms.
“Who cares what you are blessed with now? I’m just elated that you can hold me again. Don’t worry Zan, we’ll figure you out soon enough.”
Zannon returned the embrace, shedding all of his questions for the feeling of closeness to his sister.
“Love you Sis. Really missed you. Where’s the rest?” He thought to ask, since he saw none of the other kindred.
Wind began to cyclone in a small area near Drakx’ worn, tormented body. Electricity danced in the vortex.
“I believe that’s Kaynehl coming right about now,” she whispered as she kept squeezing him.
Bits of organic matter came from nowhere, and began configuring themselves inside of the vortex. The shape became apparent in seconds. It was a humanoid form. It quickly became more recognizable, and less foreign. The form of Kaynehl was standing there with his eyes closed. The dormant figure was lifeless, just a vessel. That soon changed.
An electric charge escaped from Drakx’s ravaged frame from the brow. It quickly sought out Kaynehl’s empty vessel. A thunderous crack whipped across the area. Soon after, that empty, lifeless vessel that was Kaynehl, opened his eyes.
Conscious was hindered by time. He was slowly realizing that he was flesh once more. Being away so long is what caused him to collapse. The lack of equilibrium was due to his consciousness not remembering the rules, and laws of physics, and gravity. Lost was an understatement.
“What is this?” He asked as he regulated himself to this environment once more.
As he began to stand, Sensus called to him.
“Welcome back to the living, Kaynehl. Father has blessed us all with this possibility,” she said with an overwhelming smile and a tear in her eye.
Kaynehl stood, and focused his eyes. He saw his sister, and big brother in front of him. He also saw Drakx lying to the side of him. Anger plunged itself deeply into his person. He began walking towards Drakx.
“This fucker dies now!” he screamed with hatred.
Sensus interrupted his quest for harm with, “Kaynehl, calm yourself! That ‘fucker’ is deader than you can imagine.”
Kaynehl forced himself to look through blind rage. He finally saw his lifeless body lying there. Pitifully non-threatening.
“Don’t give him the privilege of wasting anger on him. You’re home,” she said.
Yes, home. Bewilderment began to leave. Consciousness became sharper. He finally understood he wasn’t dead anymore.
“Father is dead. How did he make this possible?”
Ah, yes. Father.
