A Healer’s Journey

Chapter 283

In the end, his reaction was still a bit slower than Finnegan’s.
Bang!
His body was sent flying directly, crashing into the ground about seven or eight meters away.
Nevertheless, he was tough. Holding back the urge to vomit blood, he even managed to flip himself over and jump right up.
However, the way he looked at Finnegan had completely changed.
There was an added sense of apprehension.
This time, Finnegan didn’t press his advantage but firmly blocked Cameron’s escape route. “Once an assassin is exposed, they
lose all their advantages. Didn’t the people who trained you ever tell you that?”
Cameron didn’t respond. Instead, he was looking for an opportunity to escape.
With a snigger, Finnegan said, “Stop dreaming. I won’t let you escape. Your death is certain because it’s too dangerous to let
someone like you live!”
Not only was Cameron unpredictable, but he was also ruthless and had no boundaries.
Who knew what kind of methods he would use to attack Finnegan in the future.
Cameron said coldly, “If my death is certain, then why haven’t you made your move yet?”
His voice was hoarse, and it was clearly disguised.
Finnegan focused his spiritual energy into his eyes, peering through the clown mask to see Cameron’s face which was utterly
devoid of any distinguishing features.
I can’t judge a book by its cover. With a sigh, Finnegan dismissed his penetrating gaze. “Who ordered you to kill me? Tell me and
I’ll grant you a quick death. If you don’t... I’ll make you suffer so much you wish you were dead!”
“You know I’m an assassin, so you should understand that we can never betray our employer, even at the cost of our own lives.”

“Really? Then I’ll keep going until you tell me!”
With a growl, Finnegan charged Cameron again.
However, the latter suddenly burst into hearty laughter. “In your dreams!”
Opening his right hand, a sphere the size of a thumb appeared. It looked as if it was a pill.
Thereafter, he smashed it directly onto the ground, instantly causing layers of pungent smoke to rise at
the scene.
“Enjoy yourself, goodbye!”

Just as Cameron was about to turn around, he was suddenly struck hard from behind.
Caught off guard, he stumbled forward, falling flat on the ground.
As Cameron was unable to hold back any longer, he spewed out a mouthful of fresh blood that flowed from beneath the mask.
Even then, it was nothing compared to the shock he felt. “How are you unharmed?”
What he just threw was a miniature smoke bomb that could momentarily daze anyone for a few seconds, where even a Terra
Realm fighter couldn’t avoid it.
Yet, Finnegan walked through the smoke as if nothing had happened, leaving Cameron utterly baffled.
With a cold expression, Finnegan walked toward him. “Since you’ve come to kill me, you should know that I’m a doctor. Your
poisons are completely useless against me.”
Upon hearing this, Cameron’s pupils contracted sharply, yet he showed no signs of panic.
Instead, he stood up with a sardonic smile. “But you still can’t keep me here!”
Finnegan paused. “Is that so? What about with the help of those two?”
Behind Cameron, Doom Star and Duncan had arrived.

Armed with swords, they blocked Cameron’s retreat.
Nonetheless, Cameron just laughed. “It’s still not enough!”
Finnegan’s brows furrowed deeply. He could tell that Cameron wasn’t bluffing. “What makes you so confident?”
Cameron pulled out a remote control from his pocket, responding with a sinister smile. “I’m a killer who values his own life. So,
before every operation, I thoroughly study my targets to ensure I understand them from all angles, leaving no stone unturned.
And as for you, I’ve certainly done my research. I know that you’re someone who is ruthless toward enemies, yet incapable of
being heartless toward friends and ordinary people.”
With that said, Cameron’s smile grew even more sinister. “So before making a move, I planted three remote-controlled bombs.
Two for your parents, and one in your sister’s best friend’s office!”
Finnegan caught his breath. “Do you really think I would believe that?”
Cameron countered, “My remote, is connected to the internet. Shall we give it a try?”
Staring at that remote control, Finnegan didn’t want to believe it was true, but he didn’t dare to gamble with his parents’ and
Lindsey’s lives.
Cameron chuckled. “Don’t doubt me. I’m not one for jokes. If it weren’t for the limited time and the inconvenience, I would have
planted one on everyone around you.”
When he saw how confident Cameron was, Finnegan finally spoke out in frustration. “Get lost!”
“Mr. Finnegan?”

Both the Doom Star and Duncan spoke at the same time.
Finnegan understood their feelings, but he didn’t dare to take the risk. “Let him go.”

Hahaha...
Cameron left with a sinister smile, still holding the remote control and constantly watching the three of them. He was clearly
worried about any unexpected incidents.
Soon, Cameron completely vanished from the sight of Finnegan and his two companions.
Duncan said, “If someone like that escapes, it will be very difficult to locate them again.”
“I know, but I’ve no choice.” Finnegan closed his eyes and took a deep breath, barely suppressing his frustration. “Contact
Alisha. Ask her to check with those who are protecting my parents if there really is a bomb. Also, have her arrange for someone
to pose as a client and infiltrate Lindsey’s office. Make sure they search thoroughly.”
Duncan nodded, dialing Alisha’s number to relay Finnegan’s instructions.
By the time Finnegan and his two companions returned to Dragon Bay, they received a call from Alisha.
“There’s a remote-controlled bomb the size of a ping pong ball under your mother’s pillow, in your father’s briefcase, and in the
drawer of Lindsey’s desk. I’ve already gotten Ms. Romona to deal with them!”
Upon hearing the news from Alisha, Finnegan felt a mix of relief and fear. “Thank goodness I didn’t risk it.”
Then, with a punch, he hit the tree trunk next to him, causing many leaves to fall. “This sniper is a f*cking madman.”
In order to kill him, no method was off limits. In order to secure a way out for himself, he even made arrangements in advance.
One could say he was not just crazy, but also extremely difficult to deal with.
“Finnegan, how’s it going?”
At that moment, Cindy walked over with a worried expression.
Finnegan composed himself and said, “It’s okay now. However, I might not be able to treat you today. Let’s do it another day
instead.”
After the attack, Cindy knew that day wasn’t suitable anymore. “I should get going then. You should check on that lady. Even
after the doctor removed the bullet, she still hasn’t woken up.”

“All right!”
As Cindy turned around, Finnegan suddenly remembered something. “Cindy, do you know how to compose a portrait?”
He had already seen Cameron’s true face. All he needed to do was to piece together Cameron’s portrait so that he could find
him first, eliminating any future trouble.
Cindy replied, “Yes.”
“Alright, don’t leave just yet. I’ll come see you for a favor after I treat the housekeeper.”
Although she didn’t know what Finnegan was up to, Cindy still nodded in agreement.
Then, Finnegan arrived at the room of the housekeeper who had been shot three times.
The bullets had been removed, but the housekeeper was still unconscious.
Another housekeeper who was taking care of her, said with reddened eyes, “Mr. Larkin, the doctor said that even if Mariya
recovers, she will be disabled and won’t be able to do chores anymore.”
As he was the reason for what happened, Finnegan naturally wouldn’t let the housekeeper end up disabled. “Don’t worry, I’ll
make sure Mariya recovers.”
