A Girl Nobody Wanted

After rejecting Mr. Patterson's offer, life was not easy for me. Well, it has never been easy for me that's true, but with this, became worst. I couldn't spend even a single day without getting scolded and cursed by mom. I could stand when she blames me, but when she starts to remind everything that happened in the past, and how her life became hell after she gave birth to me, it is really painful to listen to those. It is like getting stabbed over and over again.

Dad stopped talking with me for anything. Every time he looks at me, he has this disappointed look in his face. He even stopped eating anything I cook. That made me truly hurt.

On the other hand, Mr. Patterson made me nervous all the time. At the university, he managed to follow me everywhere a treat me with creepy looks. I had to make sure that I am not alone anytime because I was so afraid to face him alone. He even visited our house a few times. My parents welcome him with open arms, and they spend hours talking about things. Sometimes they all were just whispering and God knows what they are talking about.

since I have Shane by my side, I could go through everything. I don't even know what will happen to me if he was not the for me because Jake was extremely busy too with his dad's election campaign. I had to endure seeing Jake and Marina together in media all the time. Though I know exactly they are just acting like lovers, I couldn't help getting heartbroken each time I saw them together. Luke was also not around most of the time. As Jake's best friend and one of their closest family friend, he also had to help them with the election campaign. So I just had Shane with me.

I didn't even tell Jake or Luke about all the things Mr. Patterson did during those days because I didn't want to make then wortied, but Shane knew everything and he put all the efforts to protect me. He even started to stick with me all the time when we are at the university. I had to worry only when he has football practices or additional lectures.

However, the day of the presidential election has arrived like this. I went to the voting center early morning and voted for my future father in law... I wish form all my heart that he could win this election not because I want to become the daughter in law of the president, but I think he is capable of developing our country more than the other candidate.

I went to work in the cafe after that. Shane had promised to come and get me from the cafe in the evening. When it was s close to the end of my shift, Mr.Mcdonald said there is a visitor for me waiting in the office room. I was surprised to hear that, however, I went to the office room. The person who was sitting there had turned his back to me, and he was wearing hat too. Thinking that it is really unusual to wear a hat inside the office room, I walked towards him.

“Mr. Patterson... I almost dropped the small notebook which was on my hand after seeing that person's face.

He was not just wearing a hat, but sunglasses too. What is wrong with him, is he trying to disguise? Anyway, this is the firs time he came to the cafe since I rejected his proposal.

In the evening we all were gathered around the TV to watch election results. It was like watching a movie for everyone except me. I was still confused and scared because of what Mr. Patterosn told me. My mind was telling me that he was jus trying to make me scared, but then I feel what if he said the truth. What if something truly happens to someone I love? Finally, I came to a status where I couldn't hold on to these feelings anymore. So I thought of telling everything with Shan I didn’t tell him earlier because I was afraid he will get into unnecessary trouble with Mr. Patterson. Shane was extremely pissed off because of Mr. Patterson, so who knows what he will do?

I sent Shane a text asking him to come to my room for a second. After he comes there, I explained to him everything. As I thought, he got really pissed off. He even scolded me for not telling him earlier.

“How dare him to come to the cafe like that and blackmail you? I just want to punch his stupid face more than anything. However, Sarah, I don't think it is a real threatening. He is just trying to make you scared and get what he wants. But thinking about his past activities we should not totally ignore this as well. No harm will come from being a bit more careful.” he finally said.

“So you mean I must tell this with Jake as well?" 1 asked.

“Of course. He said you have time until the final result is released, right? So we don't actually know when he will start to take action. I think you should call Jake now, and tell him everything, in case what that a**hole said was true” Shane said firmly.

I nodded in agreement and dialed Jake's number. To my surprise, he answered the phone before even it finishes the first ring.

“sarah... What a sweet surprise? I was about to call you." Jake's joyful voice raised from the other side.

“Really? Why you thought of calling me?" I asked, smiling. Despite the nervousness and fear I have in my heart, as soon a hear his happy voice it made me smile involuntarily.

“We won Sarah... My dad became the president”

“What! Congratulationsi! But we didn't see it on the TV yet." I said.

“Yeah... It is not in the media yet. But we received the final results”

“Ohill My heartiest congratulations once again, Jake... Not just as your girlfriend, but as a normal citizen of this country to I said happily.

I explained to him what Mr. Patterson told me.

However, ignoring his text, I continued watching TV. 1 was in a good mood because finally, Jake can openly be in a relationship with me. I didn't want to spoil my mood with Mr. Patterson's stupid texts.

After the final result was released on media, I got another text from him.
