A Girl Nobody Wanted

The next day, I prepared my parent's favorite dinner just to make them a bit less violent when we tell our decisions to them.

As you all may assume a dinner was not enough to calm them down.

I first tell them that I am not going to marry Mr. Patterson. Mom got all fired up as soon as she heard that.

“What are you insane? Do you think you will ever get a better proposal than this? This is like winning a lottery. You are jus nobody, but him... He has everything, yet he wants to marry you. Why the hell you deny such an opportunity.” she asked angrily.

“Mom... It is her decision. No matter even if he is Prince William, if she doesn't like him, she should not marry him. ” befo I reply to mom, Shane came to my rescue.

“Why you are taking her side all of sudden? If she doesn't agree to what he said then you won't get that internship, sponsorship, or anything” mom said.

“I told you two clearly, mom. I don’t want anything from that man. Why can't you understand, getting anything from him i like making a deal with the devil” Shane said.

“Shane! Why can't you understand the importance of his offer to your carrier? With your GPA and all do you even think yo will be able to find a good job? Your future totally depends on football, and I am not capable of spending on it in the future. I am too old now, I have no energy to work now.” dad told to Shane.

The way he told that actually made me feel sad about him. What he said was true. He is old and weak now. My dad was handsome when he was young. He looked just like Shane. But now he has become so thin and his face always looks like f is exhausted.

“I know that, dad. I am not going to let you work like this. 1 am capable of finding good sponsorship on my own. Also, no matter what my GPA is based on my football carrier I am capable of finding a good job too. I just need some more time, w are graduating in a couple of months. I will make everything up to you after that, I promise.” Shane said.

“This bi**h has brainwashed my son, Charles. Otherwise, my Shane won't refuse this” mom started to crying and cursing me.

Dad was staring at me for a few seconds.

“Even after I told you about everything we had to go through because of you, you still don't think we deserve a break?” h then asked. His words and the tone of his words felt like stabbing me.

“Dad...” even before I could tell anything, I was crying.

“Dad... Please don't think like that. I have no words to say how much I am grateful to you and mom for everything you did for me... You two deserve a calm and comfortable life more than anyone else. But dad, please believe us, Mr. Patterson is really bad person. I can never marry such a person, dad. But I promise you, we won't lose anything because I refused this proposal. I and Shane will give you two everything you may need. Just as Shane said, please give us a little time” I beggec him.

“sarah... You are a smart girl. I know you would easily get a good job. But do you think you will be able to earn all the wealth, power, and social status you may receive as Mr. Paterson's wife from just a job." dad asked.

I didn’t know what to say. I wish I could tell him about my Jake, but I couldn't.

“Dad... Please let time solve those things... I promise you, you will never regret about rejecting that bastards offer.” Shan came to my rescue once again.

However, after a lot of explaining and promises, we could convince our dad to some extend. But mom was crying, cursing and creating a drama as usual.

I exactly knew that dad is not happy and he is truly disappointed. That made me really sad too. In the past, if anyone in t household showed any sympathy towards me, it was him. Though he hurt me going according to mom's words, I could understand that he was acting against his will sometime. Sometimes I actually saw the concern and worry in his eyes, wh I was crying like hell after they beat me.

However, I made up my mind thinking that he won't have to stay unhappy for a long time. As soon as this election is over, jake will come here and tell him about us. I can't even imagine how happy he would be. I will make everything right for m whole family after that. I will do everything I can to make their lives comfortable.

On Monday, I went to university. I had some free time between the lectures. So I went to the Al lab to work on my final ye: project. There were no other students in the lab at that time. Therefore, I was working peacefully and effectively until Mr. Patterson entered the lab!

I was really scared as soon as I saw him. I was totally alone with him. Even the lab assistant went out a few minutes ago a he got a phone call.

Well... Now I regret coming here alone. I must have wait until Luke come after his lecture.

“Why you look like you just saw a ghost?” Mr. Patterson asked, smiling wickedly.

“Why are you here, Mr. Patterson?” I asked, ignoring what he said.

“Have you forgotten that I am a lecturer in this faculty? I can go anywhere in this premise,” he replied with the same wicks smile.

God! I just want to slap this bastard.

I was in the middle of my work and there was no way I could interrupt the process now. If interrupt it will lose all the effort I put into this today. Therefore, ignoring him completely, I started to work.

He came and sat in front of me. I felt he was staring at me for some time. But without caring for him, I was looking at the laptop and continuing my work.

Where the hell this lab assistant went? Why he hasn't come back yet?

“sarah.” after a couple of minutes Mr. Patterson started to talk.

“Yes..""I said ignorantly, still looking at my laptop.

“I wanted to call you so much and ask you about the offer I brought you. But then I thought, it is better to talk with you ir person,” he said.

My heart started to beat rapidly. So he didn't accidentally come here. He has followed me. I think he sent the lab assistan also out. I should tell him directly without letting him talking further.

“Mr. Patterson, I don’t want to marry you. I will never marry you." I said firmly, looking right into his eyes.

His eyes stretched to a thin line for a second, but the next second he started to laugh.

His laugh actually made me scared and surprised at the same time. why the hell he is laughing like this?

“lam not dumb, Sarah... I knew you won't agree to marry me so easily,” he said, looking at my surprised face.

“That's why I directly went to your parents. They like me so much and they are ready to let you marry me anytime.” he the said.

“I told my decision to them. They can't change my decision.” I said firmly.

“Really? Can't they?” he asked with a fake surprised tone. Then he started to laugh again.

God! Slapping him won't be enough, I want to kill him!

“Let's see about that, my little angel..” then he said, touching my hand.

“Mr. Patterson!!l How dare you touch me!” yelling at him, I stood up.

“Come on, Sarah... Relax... I just touch your hand, I didn't try to r**e you. You know what, I don't want to get anything by force from you. I want you to give me everything, your body, and your soul with your own will” he then said in a calm voi I was furious and my whole body was shaking with anger.

“That is never going to happen, Mr. Patterson. I would die rather than committing to you with my own will” 1 yelled at him “As I said, let's see about that, angel...” he said with the same calm voice.

I didn't know what to do or what to say. felt like I lost my ability to speak with the unbearable anger. So without even thinking twice, I removed all the wires that were connected to my laptop and closed the lid. I knew this would put all my effort today in vain, but I will do this same work again and again for the rest of my life than staying in the same room wit this insane devil.

I put the laptop in my backpack and started to leave the room without even look at him. But he was so quick and he stoo in front of me, blocking my way.

“You lost hours of your work because of your anger, didn't you?” he asked, looking into my eyes.

Without saying anything, I looked away.

“Remember, you will lose everything you have worked for in your entire life if you keep on having hopes for Jacob. He is never going to marry you, Sarah... Wake up from your sweet dreams. He is engaged to Marina, and uncle Victor will make sure he gets married to her after the election. Even if Jake wants to marry you, don't ever think that victor Mcmiller will ever let his only son, the heir to all his wealth and power to marry a poor common girl. One day Jake will surely have to choose a side from his parents and you. Which side do you think he will choose. Don't forget that not like your parents, h parents love him so much and he loves them so much too” he said.

I know he is just a crazy bastard, but what he said is true, isn’t it? No matter how hard I try not to think about the possibility of Jake's parents reject our relationship, that possibility is super high. Just like my mom said, I am just nobody But Jake... He is like the heir to the throne.

Without even knowing, my eyes filled with tears. But I was not ready to let this bastard win.

“Do you think your dad will let you marry me then? You are from the same social class as Jake, aren't you?” I asked.

He then started to laugh.

“All our businesses and our properties were owned by my mom. According to my mom's last will, all of those things were transferred to me, she gave my dad nothing other than the house we live in. So my father now has basically nothing, and he has no power to object any of my decision. He lives from my money” he said in an indifferent voice.

God! There are no words to tell how much 1 disgust this man. The way he talked about his own dad... He is truly a monster heartless, crazy monster.

“Mr. Patterson, let me go..." I then said.

“t will let you go, Sarah... But remember I will make you mine by any means. If I couldn't do that in any case, I will not thir twice before making not just Jake's life, but your whole family miserable.” he said in a firm voice. There is no doubt he meant everything he said. He gave me a clear warning.

“Don’t drag my family into this,” I said.

“You know Sarah... When you ask me to do something, I always feel like I must do that for you because I love you so dam much. But unfortunately, you are too late to ask this from me. I have already dragged your family into this and now I can’t do anything” he said with an evil smile.

“You are the evilest person I have seen in my entire life!”

He laughed...

“My love for you and my hatred for Jake has made me this evil, Sarah... Remember, now I don't have any limits or any rule I will get everything I want. ” he said firmly and then he let me go...
