When Annabelle heard this, she closed her eyes in relief. She was really in too much pain and too tired! 

Lucas was only concerned about Annabelle. When he saw her like this, he was shocked again. Just as he was about to ask the nurse how Annabelle was, he saw the nurse raise a finger and ask him to be quiet. 

“Mrs. Walker is just tired and needs to rest!” The nurse explained softly. 

When Lucas heard this, he heaved a long sigh of relief. He followed the nurses and carefully sent Annabelle back to the ward. There was no one else in his eyes at that moment. 

Fortunately, Timothy and Mary helped clean up the mess and thanked the medical staff sincerely. 

“You’re welcome. It’s our job, after all.” The head of obstetrics and gynecology smiled and said gently, “Hurry up and go. You don’t have to stand on ceremony with us.” 

Indeed, there was no need to stand on ceremony with them. The head of obstetrics and gynecology was Timothy and Mary’s middle school classmate and a good friend of theirs of many years. 

After thanking him, they went upstairs to the VIP ward. 

Annabelle had been carried back to the hospital bed by Lucas. By this time, she was sleeping soundly. Lucas sat by the bed, occasionally wiping the sweat from her forehead. 

When Timothy and Mary came with the two babies in their arms, followed by Donald, Susan, and Elizabeth, Lucas only glanced at them to signal them not to make a fuss before looking away.

“The one in your arms is the elder brother, and the one in my arms is the younger sister. The boy weighfs 5.07 pounds, and the girl weighs 6.17 pounds.” On the big day, Mary felt that it was not good to curse others, so she swallowed her words and only rolled her eyes at him. 

Lucas didn’t know what to say. 

Lucas looked down at the little guy in his arms. He didn’t know if he was tired of crying or what, but he gradually stopped crying, even though no one was coaxing him. 

When he stopped, the other baby also gradually quietened down.

Lucas thought to himself, “They didn’t inherit any of my looks. They all look like their mother!‘ 

However, Lucas took a closer look and found a lacrimal mole under the boy’s eye that his younger sister did not have. Its color was light, but because of his white skin, it looked quite clear. 

However, what was certain was that the siblings‘ looks were definitely not bad. They must be smart, too. Their looks proved it. They both picked the looks that their father liked. 

“Stop hugging them and put them on the crib to sleep!” Donald, who did not squeeze over, finally could not help but remind 

him. 

Lucas did not refuse. He looked at the baby again and handed the little guy in his arms to Timothy. Then, he turned around and carefully wiped Annabelle’s sweat again. 

On the other side, Mary and Timothy had already placed the two little guys in the crib. The two babies were lying together. The scene was as gratifying as it could be. 

Elizabeth took out her phone and was about to take a photo. 

Mary stopped her. “Check first and see if the flashing lights are off!” 

Elizabeth understood. After some setup, she started filming with ease. 

“Should we notify Noah and Nathan?” Elizabeth asked Timothy and Mary just as she was about to post it on her Instagram 

story. 

“It’s so late now. Tell them tomorrow!” The person who answered her was not Mary, nor Timothy, but Lucas, who was at the bedside. 

Elizabeth glanced at the watch and realized that it was already past three in the morning. 

Indeed, people were probably sleeping soundly right now, especially since Noah and Nathan were both very busy. Elizabeth thought to herself that Lucas was a considerate man. At a time like this, he was still worried about affecting Noah and Nathan’s rest. 

If it was her, she couldn’t help it. She wouldn’t care when they went to bed and would call them directly.
