Chapter 104 

Lucas wanted to pull Annabelle away, but Annabelle refused to leave. 

“Let’s see how it goes. We’ll leave after they have finished!” Annabelle smiled. 

Lucas was at a loss for words. 

On the other side, Elizabeth was throwing a tantrum. She felt that the elders in the family were too much. Why did they stop giving her blessing cards after she attended university, but Annabelle got cards from them? 

“Why don’t you think about how old you are?” Mary said in disdain. “Besides, Annabelle is newly married into the family. That’s our family’s rule!” 

Elizabeth questioned inwardly, “Is that so?” 

Elizabeth was a little embarrassed. But it was the new year, and she could not lose. Hence, she braced herself and continued her tantrum 

In the end. Mary had no choice but to write a blessing card for Elizabeth on the spot. 

Elizabeth watched in speechlessness. 

Looking at Elizabeth’s dumbfounded expression, Annabelle followed Lucas upstairs in satisfaction. 

By the time Annabelle took a shower and sat on the bed, it was already past II at night. Annabelle glanced at the bathroom and was a little nervous. 

She prepared a gift for Lucas, but she was uncertain if he would like it. 

Annabelle took out the gift she had prepared a few days ago from the bedside table. She opened it and took a look at the diamond watch inside. She had spent a lot of money to buy it and she was genuinely broke because of it. 

Of course, that was not taking into account the credit cards Timothy and Lucas gave her. 

When she heard the bathroom door open, Annabelle was so frightened that she stuffed the box in her hand under the pillow behind her. 

After stuffing it away, she felt that she was being ridiculous. It was just a gift. What was there to be afraid of? 

Lucas naturally saw her actions. He could not help but raise his eyebrows and walk over while drying his hair. 

Annabelle stayed still in silence. 

“What is there that I can’t see?” Lucas stopped in front of her and asked curiously. 

“There’s nothing I can’t show you!” Annabelle looked at the time. It was two minutes till midnight. She wanted to give the gift to him on the first day of the new year. 

Then show me!” Lucas said. 

“Wait!” Annabelle looked at him and said very seriously. 

Lucas raised his eyebrows. He did not understand why Annabelle was being so mysterious. 

“Sit down, sit down. I will help you dry your hair!” Annabelle saw that he was not serious about drying his hair, so she quickly waved at him and asked him to sit down for her to help him dry his hair. 

“There’s no need for that. Just lie down. I’ll dry it myself!” How could Lucas bear to let her wipe his hair with her big belly? 

At that moment, the New Year’s countdown sounded on the phone. Five, four, three, two… 

“Happy New Year!” 

“Happy New Year!” 

The two of them exclaimed at the same time. After saying that, they were stunned for a moment before laughing together. 

Annabelle took out the brocade box she hid under the pillow and handed it to Lucas. She smiled and said, “Lucas, happy new year!” 

Lucas looked at the smiling little girl in front of him and listened to her soft and seductive voice. His heartbeat could not help but fasten. 

“Take it!” Annabelle blinked her big eyes and reminded him with a smile. 

Only then did Lucas’s gaze fall on the brocade box. Just by looking at the logo on the box, he knew that Annabelle had spent 

a lot of money. 

Lucas reached out and took the brocade box. When he opened it, he saw a watch lying quietly inside. It was a platinum watch with a blue starry dial. It was very exquisite and luxurious. 

Chapter 104 

“Thank you, I like it very much!” Lucas handed the watch to Annabelle and said softly. 

Annabelle looked at the watch that was handed over again and was instantly unhappy. Didn’t he say that he liked it very much? Why did he hand it back to her? 

“Help me put it on!” Lucas had no choice but to remind her when he saw her silly look. 

“Oh, oh!” Annabelle understood and immediately smiled with her eyes narrowed. She took out the watch from the brocade box and helped Lucas put it on in a careful manner. 

“It’s so beautifull” Annabelle looked at the watch she had bought on Lucas’s fair wrist and could not help but sigh. The watch was beautiful, and the hand was even prettier. 

Satisfied. Annabelle prepared to go to bed. 

However, before she could lie down, someone grabbed her hand. 

Annabelle looked up at Lucas with a puzzled expression. Before she could ask, Lucas leaned over and kissed the corner of her lips. 

Annabelle immediately laughed. 

Lucas glanced at her and got off the bed. Annabelle thought he was going to put the towel back, so she didn’t take it to heart. Just as she put down the pillow and slowly lay down, Lucas came back. 

“Go to sleep!” Annabelle yawned and said to Lucas. 

However, Lucas did not lie down where she had patted on the bed. Instead, he sat beside her and raised her hand. Annabelle only felt a chill on her finger. In her puzzlement, an exquisite diamond ring was slipped onto her finger. 

Annabelle’s eyes widened. She exclaimed on the inside, “He… he also prepared a gift for me? And it is a diamond ring?” 

“I’m very lucky to be able to marry you!” Lucas kissed the back of her fair hand and said sincerely. 

Annabelle covered her mouth. She could not believe it. It turned out that she was not the only one who felt lucky! She asked, “Have you already fallen in love with me?” 

Lucas was at a loss for words. 

Was there a need to ask such an obvious question? 

“Figure it out yourself!” Lucas said nonchalantly as he pressed her head onto the pillow. 

When Annabelle heard that, she immediately pouted in dissatisfaction. Could he not say something nice? 

However, she could not fall asleep! It was fine if he did not give her a ring, but how could she fall asleep if he did that? 

Hence, Annabelle struggled to get up from the bed. She did not want to sleep, nor did she want Lucas to sleep. “Just one ring? Not a pair?” 

Lucas handed the other velvet box to Annabelle, and she opened it. Sure enough, there was a low–key and luxurious men’s ring inside. 

Annabelle smiled and took out the men’s ring. She slipped the ring onto Lucas‘ ring finger almost reverently. 

Looking at the ring on Lucas‘ finger and then at the big diamond ring on her own finger, Annabelle could not stop laughing. 

Lucas could not help but laugh when he saw her smiling like a little fool. 

Annabelle suddenly thought of something and took her phone from the bedside table. With her ringed hand holding Lucas’s ringed hand, she used his free hand to snap photos of their hands together. After taking the photos, she chose the one she thought looked the best and posted it on her Instagram story. She even added a very old–fashioned love quote, “Whatever souls are made of, his and mine are the same.” 

Annabelle’s Instagram story had just been posted when Lucas’s phone rang. Lucas glanced at Annabelle, who was on her phone, before taking his phone over. As expected, the moment he opened his Instagram, he saw the story posted by Annabelle. 

“You have to post one too. Show off the watch I just gave you!” Annabelle reminded Lucas as she chatted with her friend.
