Chapter 101 

Annabelle looked at the two of them. The man was cunning and treacherous, while the woman was weak and incompetent. This was very obvious and very real. 

So, was she really their child? 

Annabelle was a little surprised. This was not what she had expected at all. 

She thought that they were people Madeline had found randomly. 

However, whether it was true or not, Annabelle thought, it was better to verify it through science. 

“Let’s do a paternity test while we still have time,” said Annabelle. This was something she had decided from the beginning. Whether there were any flaws or not, it was not as reliable as a paternity test.. 

When the old couple heard her words, their reactions were also different. The man felt that it was troublesome and was purely a waste of time and money. He felt that if Annabelle had the money, she might as well give it to them. The woman did not object and only nodded blankly. She repeatedly said that it was right and should be appraised! 

Annabelle could tell that these two people, no matter if it was the man or a woman, were not against a paternity test. Even the man was only afraid of spending money and not afraid. 

Annabelle felt that there was nothing wrong with their attitude. The problem was Madeline. 

From the corners of her eyes, Annabelle saw Madeline subconsciously clenching her fists when she heard the paternity test.

This couple might have really sent away a daughter, but that daughter wasn’t her.

Annabelle did not take the man’s words to heart. She only said. “If the paternity test proves that you’re indeed my parents, I’ll buy you a cotton jacket!” 

Well, it was just a set of clothes. If the test results were positive, she would take it as their reward for bringing her to this world. As for any more, she would not give it to them. 

Her parents of the Ross family had raised her for 23 years. Even if they didn’t acknowledge her anymore, she would still give them retirement money on time when they were old. 

“Let’s go,” said Annabelle. 

Because Annabelle promised to buy clothes for him, the man stopped making a fuss. Although rich people were troublesome, it was just a paternity test. His brother had taught him that pulling out a strand of hair and taking some blood 

would do. 

‘Go, go, go. Come back quickly. Maybe you’ll be able to buy clothes for me after you’re done,” the man urged. 

Madeline was rendered speechless. 

“Leave this matter to me!” Finally, Madeline gritted her teeth and said, “I have an acquaintance who can get the results of the paternity test faster!” 

“Then why don’t you leave it to me?” Elizabeth, who had been silent all this while, suddenly said. “I don’t just have acquaintances, my family also runs a hospital.” 

Madeline didn’t know what to say. How could she compete with people of the Walker family in terms of connections? She was no match. 

However….. if they did a paternity test on someone else’s territory, then the result…. 

“Let’s go,” said Annabelle. 

Madeline didn’t know what to say. 

She didn’t know what to do. Should she call a halt now or let her be? 

“Up to you!” After saying that, Madeline turned around, picked up her bag and left.

She knew that she had failed again.

They were purchasing new year goods and preparing for the end of the year. Annabelle and Elizabeth were often dragged to the supermarket by Mary recently. 

They would buy a lot of new year decorations. 

Annabelle was especially fond of these things. She had never experienced this before. The nanny was the one who bought the new year’s goods at home. She had never expected it to be so lively. 

Looking at the sea of people in the mall, Annabelle could not help but feel happy. She felt that such days like these had more 

purpose. 

Of course, Lucas didn’t forget to take Annabelle to the hospital for a prenatal checkup. The pregnant woman was fine, and the baby was fine, which made them happy this year.

The reunion dinner at night was prepared by the Walker family themselves. It was the new year after all. The Walker family gave the nanny, driver, and butler three days off so that they could spend the new year with their children. Mary felt that her self–esteem had suffered. She also had her own specialties, okay? It wasn’t like every dish she cooked wasn’t delicious, right? Besides, wasn’t kindness more important than delicacies? She also felt that Lucas and Elizabeth had no conscience, because they were allowing a pregnant woman to cook for them.
