Chapter 29
It was about some minutes after five in the early hours of the morning, when I had finally arrived back at my home in Chicago. After I got upset and had left Christopher's parents house, I went straight back to his place, grabbed a few important stuff and clothes from my closet along with Pluto and left right away. I didn't even sent the cab driver away while I packed. I just made him wait for me for the couple minutes that I took to grab my things and stuffed them in a suitcase. With my direction, he then took me straight to the airport.
The quickest and only available flight that I could get at the last minute to Chicago, was one that was leaving in two hours. And after the hours of flying, when I landed back in Chicago, I had to rent a car so that I could drive home.
I still had my Chicago home keys with me after all these months, thankfully. I had always kept them with me in my purse with any other important cards and things, even after I had been in New York. The minute I had opened the door, the alarm went off. I quickly stepped inside dropping my bags and putting down Pluto to the side, before closing the door and flipping on the switch to disarm it.
"Stop stop stop!" I groaned frustratedly as I swiftly punched in the code I remembered.
Due to my haste in entering the numbers, I accidentally entered them wrong at first because of my haste to get the alarm to stop. "Ugh! Shut up!"
"Finally." I sighed as I managed to turn it off on e and for all.
"Allison?" I heard Dad said sounding extremely shocked.
I turned around seeing my dad at the top of the staircase. The alarm must have woke him up and most likely having him thought that maybe I was a burglar. "Dad, hi." I smiled at him as my eyes filled with tears.
It felt so good seeing him after all these months that I was on the Berger of happy crying. The last time I had seen my Dad, was the day of the wedding and it was overwhelming seeing him again after so long. "I can't believe it." Dad chuckled with surprise before coming down to meet me.
I ran to him as he pulled me into a big hug. I buried my head in his chest with my arms wrapped tightly around his waist. Dad rested his chin on the top of my head rocking me from side to side.
"Dad I missed you so much." I mumbled into his shirt.
"I'm so surprise to see you Ali. Why didn't you tell me you were coming? I could have fetch you." Dad said still hugging me. "How did you get here?"
"I didn't even know I was coming either," I said to him. "It was a last minute decision. I just got a flight here, then rented a car at the airport."
"What do you mean?" Dad asked pulling away.
"I just made that decision a few hours ago." I said to him.
"Why? What happened?" Dad asked seriously.
"Nothing, I just really missed you and everyone else here and I just couldn't wait any longer to see you." I said to him.
"I know when you're lying Alli. You were never good at it either." Dad said to me. "What really happened Ali? Was it Chris?"
"Dad, I just got here and I'm really tired. I haven't slept in hours.
Could we please not talk about this right now?" I asked him exhaustedly.
"Allison, does this have something to do with Christopher?" Dad asked. "The last time you told me that you guys were getting along alright. And wasn't last night his party? Did something happened there?" "Dad, I don't want to talk about it now. Please not now. " I said to him.
"Allison, you just showed up here in the early hours of the morning. You came all the way from New York out of the blue and you expect me not to wonder what went wrong?" Dad said to me. "Did something happened between you two? Did Christopher do something? I need to know."
"Dad, can we talk about this later on today? When I'm more rested? I kinda had a long night." I said to him.
"Alright. But just so you know, I am not letting this go. I need to know what went wrong with you. I cannot be comfortable what went down. Especially, not knowing if you were hurt." Dad said to me.
"I am okay Dad. I am not hurt or anything. I will tell you everything later, I promise." I said to him.
"Alright. Let me take these up to your room for you." Dad said before going to take up my suitcase and bag.

"Thanks Dad." I smiled at him before going to pick up Pluto.
I sighed looking around. I haven't been here in months, I couldn't believe how much I missed this place. I started walking up the staircase running my freehand along the railings. *Home sweet home.*

When I woke up later on, it was after one in the afternoon. I was so exhausted that I slept for hours into the afternoon. After Dad had took my suitcase up to my room, I had told him that I was really tired and was going to try to get some rest. However, I didn't fall asleep until maybe after six. I had stayed up a little while thinking all about the events of last night. I just couldn't believe that after I had started trusting Christopher--after he had begged me over and over for a chance-- that he would have ever done something like this.
If she was the one he wanted, why didn't he just stick with her and leave me alone? Why approached me for a real relationship then cheat? It made absolutely no sense how guys could not make up their minds about what they want. They want it all, when it is unfair and impossible to have that.
I finally decided that I should get out of bed when I heard my stomach started rumbling. I got up and headed to the bathroom to take a shower. My hair was a tangled mess when I looked at myself in the mirror. I tried combing and brushing it out but it was just giving me a hard time. I had absolutely no idea what was wrong with it this morning. The night before, I had straightened it and it was perfect. However, it was like I suddenly woke up having a bad hair day. After all that happened the night before, I wasn't in the mood for any form of trouble anymore. I just wanted to liberate myself.
I looked at the scissors laying on the bathroom counter, then back at my hair through the mirror. After a few minutes of contemplating, I finally made my decision. I took up the scissors and started cutting.
After I had finished, I looked at my now shorter hair that barely reached my shoulders. Looking at it thoroughly, I could see that it actually looked good. I was surprised that it turned out good since I wasnt a hairdresser. I couldn't help thinking about how I had never worn my hair short before, when I would have totally rocked it. After cleaning up the hair mess from the floor and dumping it in the bin, I climbed in the shower washing my hair and letting the water help me to relax. "Oh, You're finally up." Dad said to me as he came into the kitchen and saw me eating. "I fed the little guy earlier, he wondered down here."
"Hey Dad," I smiled up at him. "Yeah I'm up now and thanks. I totally overslept."
"No problem, and you were exhausted. So are you okay?" Dad asked watching me carefully.
"Yeah, I'm fine Dad." I replied.
"Are you sure?" Dad asked.

"I am sure Dad. Why would you think otherwise?" I asked him.
"Well for starters, you are not eating. You have been sitting there playing with that food for the longest while now." Dad said pointing to my plate. "Wait, you cut your hair?" "Yeah, I did." I nodded with a smile.
"But why?" Dad asked in surprised.
"I just needed a little change." I responded.
"Allison, are you really doing alright?" Dad asked me again.
"Dad, I am okay. Really, I am." I smiled at him before looking down at my hand that was twirling the fork with my food. "I just don't have much appetite right now."
"Well, you have to try eat something or you're going to starve yourself." Dad replied.
"I don't think that is going to happen." I sighed. "I think that I'm going to go visit Tori today. Maybe I'll eat there or we'll eat out."
"I hope so." Dad said to me with a serious expression. "I'm starting to worry about you Allison."
"Dad, I know that you probably want to know what happened back in New York." I sighed.
"I do, but I don't want to push you to tell me anymore. I will let you tell me what is wrong when you are ready." Dad said to me.
"I am ready to talk now." I sighed.
I began telling him all about Christopher and I deciding to give our relationship a chance, and about meeting Kimberly and what she had said to me. I told him everything up until what happened at the party and what I had seen between Christopher and Kimberly the night before.
