9.5ft full of scars, A Yautja fantasy story

Chapter 23

Five days now... five agonising days, without Kyr'nac waking up, without his body healing as it should.

For the past few days Iris tried to hide the tears from the great Orc, she didn't want to appear pathetic and weak, but sometimes, when she was looking at him through the transparent part of the lit at Kyr'nac and saw the still open wounds that, for some mysterious reason, weren’t healing, something snapped and tears just started to come uncontrollably. And every time, Orgrim took her in his arms and held her tight until she calmed down.

"You know what's so stupid about all of this?"

With her back against the wall, Iris sat on the cold metal floor, her eyes fixed on the medical ward where her hybrid was fighting for his life.

"I don't even know him, jet I'm terrified he might die..." She took her eyes off of the unit and looked at the Orc.

"I'm really, really scared of him dying on me, Orgrim.“

"You know his name, his real name right?" Iris rolled her eyes at his words.

“Yeah, so?”

A small smile appeared on his face.

"Look, Iris... Not many people know his name, his real name I mean… pretty much everyone knows him as Scars..."

Triggered by his words, Iris sat up a bit, she expected Scars to be just a nickname, just like the Orcs back at the brothel called her “baby”, jet everyone knew her name was Iris.

"I happen to know that before you arrived at the brothel, you already had some background information about the types of clients you were to expect to serve, right?”

Iris nodded. Yes, she had indeed received that information before anyone else, to help her with the study of species pressure points, what kind of oils she had to use to get the men in the “mood” and so on.

"Come on, let’s get ourselves a drink..."

Orgrim stood and motioned her with his head to follow him.

This wasn't something he wanted to discuss there with the giant, though unconscious, nearby.

Orgrim leaned back in his chair and made himself comfortable, he saw Iris doing the same, and he took a firm sip from his drink, damn, this stuff was strong...

For a moment Orgrim closed his eyes, he wasn’t the kind of man that liked to talk about other peoples lives, but in this case he felt he had no choice. Iris needed some background information about the man she cared for and as the big guy wasn't able to provide this to her himself, well..., he had too be the one.

"What do you know about Yautja?" He started off.

With a bottle of c'nlip within hands reach on the floor, Orgrim did his best to enlighten her about the hybrid as much as possible, once he was done he grabbed the bottle to pour himself another drink and saw the bottle was completely empty.

"So, let me get this clear… If what you’re saying is true and I’m not saying you’re not, nobody knows what he is, neither does he…?”

Orgrim nodded and shrugged. “Yup, basically…”

Iris took a large sip from the c'nlip, and almost choked on the stuff, tiny sips Iris, tiny sips… She muttered to herself.

"Wow..., there's one thing yo haven't told me, though, who mutilated him so badly? I know it didn't happen due to a freak accident, these scars are inflicted by someone, they're to precise, to clean..."

"Liu'an... Don't ask me how the bastard did it, I only know he's the one."

Iris's face paled by hearing her tormentors name.

"But how? I mean, I can't imagine him being stronger than Kyr'nac, that's impossible..."

The Orc shrugged. "Dunno girl, just know he did..."

All of a sudden, a signal sounded from the control panel, they’d reached they had reached the destination the Yautja had already programmed.

The Orc looked at the star chart that appeared on the screen in front of them, he wasn’t familiar with this little galaxy. As far as he knew, there wasn’t real intelligent life here and no worthy raw materials either, everyone kind of ignored it. The ship started to descend to the planet’s surface, when it breached the outer boundaries of the atmosphere.

Not knowing where the ship was heading, neither of them had fastened their seatbelts, and as the ship made its plunge to the planet’s atmosphere, large pieces of debris caused the ship to get tossed around as were the ships passengers, and with all their might Iris and Orgrim clung to the armrests, trying to prevent being thrown around the ship cabin.

Although in reality the descent lasted just under twenty minutes, Iris had felt it took forever, when as suddenly as they entered the atmosphere, so abruptly the ordeal was over, and they were rewarded with a magnificent view of the planet’s surface.

Probably due to an electrostatic disturbance in the atmosphere, most of the ships that flew by, received wrong readings, making it seem as if the planet consisted mainly of a dry, arid desert, how different was the reality. A large part of the surface was indeed desert, but this was by no means dry and barren, the desert was full of life, this was almost imperceptible only from above the dam ring. Outside of the desert, the area consisted of mountains and forests, and its unspoiled nature made it a beautiful sight from above.

As they gotten closer to the surface, the place the ship was about to land was on the edge, where a forest slowly turned into one of the planet's huge sandboxes.

“Look!” Orgrim pointed to a fairly sheltered area, where there were a few small buildings.

Unaware of two pair of eyes closely watching the landing ship.
