300 Days With The Alpha Beta Triplets

Chapter MAYBE I TRICKED YOU

BELLA:

"And what did you say to him?" Hazel asked at once, and Bella let out a sigh. "I'm guessing that you agreed?"

"Hazel, I couldn't do anything. You need to stand before this man." Her eyes didn't seem to understand. "You know how it felt talking with my mum? Like I couldn't read her, and she turned out to not be such a bad person. Enzo is like that. He tries to be good to me, but everything feels like a test because he doesn't hesitate to kill wolves in front of me. I think he just wants me to know that he could kill me without batting an eye, and let me tell you, I understand that finely," I said, and she inhaled deeply.

"Okay, okay, let us talk this out. We do not need to fight about it," she said, then she paced around for a while. "Our plan is going very fine for now," she added, then she turned to me. "We just have to create an illusion spell, and he would think one of the wolves is me."

"Then how will she get your magic going?" I asked, and she sighed deeply.

"This is so difficult. Maybe we should call Halle, and she will know what to do."

I nodded at her words.

She put a call across to Halle.

"Are you busy?" she asked as soon as the call connected.

"Let me guess, apart from trying to guard the borders and slaying vampires, I think I have enough time on my hands before my death."

Her words dripped with sarcasm, but this was the second time she was mentioning dying. I felt she knew something, and it scared me. I didn't want to bother myself with it at the moment, so I shoved it aside.

"Enzo wants me. Since you guys closed his access to quick portals, so now you have to think of a plan. You owe me that," Hazel said, and Halle scoffed.

"I am letting you slide because we are related; if not, I'd teach you how to talk to an old witch."

I groaned inwardly because the both of them didn't seem to ever be on good terms.

"Where are you?" Halle asked.

"The outlands. Wastelands. Place of skulls with the ancient writing," Hazel said to her.

"Okay. I'll need you to go away from there so that you do not draw unwanted attention to your hiding place," she began. "When you find a spot, ask your spell book for direction. It will guide you, and you can perform a spell for a double. It's like a clone, but you'll only control it from the spot you did the spell, so find a safe place," she said.

The fact we had to keep going around made me exhausted. I had traversed the entire Moon fire in just a week. It was draining, and at this point, I was getting tired, but I didn't have a choice.

"You should be able to follow Bella back to their den in your second form, then you meet with Enzo Darkmoore." With this, she ended the call.

Hazel and I set out like Halle had instructed, and soon we found a secluded spot where Hazel set up her spell materials. She did exactly what Halle asked, and in no time there were two of her, but the real Hazel remained seated on the ground with her eyes shut and her hands clasped together.

"Wow!" I exclaimed as I reached out to touch her, and she seemed very real.

"If I knew this was real, I wouldn't be in school. I feel very much different," she said, twirling around for a bit. "My body feels free."

"Yes, but we need to go because Enzo is not going to wait for you to twirl around." She nodded at my words. "Are you sure you'll be okay, though?" I asked, staring at her form on the ground.

"Yes. I made a protective spell first, so no one will be able to penetrate it," she said to me.

We walked through about the one millionth portal in my life, heading for the vampire den. As soon as I arrived, I took Hazel's hand, leading her to Enzo's chamber.

He lay crosswise on his throne with his legs hanging on one arm and his head on the other. The moment he saw me, he sat up straight.

"I cannot tell you how much I love you, sidekick." When he said this, I glanced at Hazel, who seemed to understand what I meant by him being shady. "It's been what? Two hours, and you are back with one of the powerful witches across the country. If not, the most powerful."

He got to his feet at once, sizing Hazel up.

"Come, my dear," he said to her with arms widespread. Hazel hesitated, and he smiled at her. "I do not bite. Ask your friend. I have treated her so well, and as you can see, a friend of my sidekick is a friend of mine as well." Hazel took a step forward.

"As long as she does what I ask," he added.

As soon as she made her way to the front of his throne, he commanded her.

"Bow to the great Enzo and tell him why you have agreed to serve him."

Hazel dropped to her knees at once.

"I have decided to serve you, oh great one, because that is the only thing that makes sense. I have heard about your greatness, and forming an alliance with you will protect me from the doom about to befall the wolves."

She was a natural; I had to hand it to her.

Enzo glared at her for a while.

"Very well then." He turned to me. "Find her a room and let her settle in. I will call on her when I need her," he said, and I nodded.

Hazel got on her feet at once, and we made our way out of the room. We both heaved a sigh of relief at once. "Did you let the triplets know you were leaving?" I whispered, and she shook her head.

"They went out to find the rest of the hybrids while I stayed back to start off the ritual. You need to inform them because my body cannot move unless both forms join together," she said, and I nodded. We walked back to my room at first, then I placed a call to the triplets to let them know of the latest development.

After that, I walked around to find an empty room for Hazel. One of the vampires showed us a room, which looked like every other room in the house.

"This is like Howlstone for evil people!" Hazel exclaimed, and I chuckled.

That was exactly what I thought the first time I saw it.

She walked to the bed, knocking on it.

"How are your bones still intact? This mattress feels like it is made of metal or stone." Her words made me laugh more, almost making me forget our problems.

Our laughter was suddenly interrupted by a knock on the door. Then I opened it at once to see Mabel standing in front.

"I was told you were here and that your friend was joining," she said, and I flashed her a smile, opening the door for her to come in.

As soon as she saw Hazel, her brows became creased.

"Hazel, this is Mabel, and..."

"I know who she is!" Mabel sneered, folding her arms to her chest. "The bitch that tried to kill Lyra."

"Okay?" Hazel raised a brow.

"She is dead now, so I hope you are happy and you can do a little dance for that. I'm leaving," she said, and she turned around at once.

I took in a deep breath at once, turning around to go after her.

"She is really a good person, and you guys will be good when you get along," I said to Hazel, rushing out of the

room.

Mabel increased her speed down the hall, and I was practically sprinting at this point, but then she took a turn to the left, and when I followed, I found myself in an entirely different environment.

She looked at me with a chuckle, leaving her lips.

"What the hell, you tricked me," I said as a smile formed on my face. "You are not really angry, are you?" I asked, and she shrugged.

"Maybe I tricked you, but we will never know if I do not tell you." She was speaking in parables at this point. "And really, it depends," she added in a calm tone as she walked slowly around the lonely path in the middle of nowhere.

"On what?" I asked, and she scoffed, turning to face me.

"On, if you know who exactly I am, Runestone." That word sent a chill up my spine, and I didn't need to be told twice because I already knew who it was.
