Chapter CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
That night, Jenny sat with confusion. Her heart felt for zero. She did have something there. But she believed she could grow for Gordon. Learn to love him. I mean life with him wasn’t all that bad either.
About hours had passed before she realized she was sitting in her bed. Thinking about Zero and Gordon. With no solution and no change in events, she decided she would get up and go get a cup of water from the kitchen.
On her walk towards the kitchen she realized the house seemed completely soundless. There were no footsteps or size in the dark. There seem to be no one there. And are those zero lived there with pretty much a few animals here and there, no other human was present. There was no matriarch in the dungeon for her to go and talk to. It was completely vacant.
Where could Gordon have gone? She thought. And to leave her there completely unwatched, she questioned.
Not sure when he would return but also not sure how long he had been gone, Jenny took this time to shift into a bird. She flew the night sky. Flights up and down to and frow, left and right. Jenny felt the breeze in her face and the wind in her ears. No one could ever deny her a set of wings to fly. Because even in captivity, she felt free. She felt like a bird flying far far away from there.
While in flight she ran into no one other than zero. Mr. Hawkeyes in the skies. Speaking while in bird form, Jenny asked Zero.
“What are you doing here?”
“I’m keeping an eye on you”
“I don’t need anyone to keep an eye on me Zero. I know what I’m doing!”
“Yes, you might know what you’re doing, but I still don’t trust him.”
“Well good thing he’s not here,” Jenny said in an informative and arrogant way, knowing something Zero didn’t know.
“What? He’s not there”. Zero asked with confusion.
“Yeah. I don’t know how long he’s been gone or when he’ll be back but he isn’t here.”
“Something’s up then”, Zero rushed.
Zero pecks Jenny on the cheek before taking flight off towards Mount Pioneer.
Where in the world was he going? They had all night that they could fly together like they used to. They could play tag in the sky once more. But instead, he’d rather hold a grudge and chase after Gordon, who was nowhere to be found. She felt a bit of spite fly upon her. The man she loved and the man she had to love we’re both gone.

Taking flight back towards Mount Pioneer, Zero rushed back home. On arrival, he was met by Connor.
“That young boy Jacob is here”
“Great, so November got to…”
“Actually no... He got here before November,” Connor interrupted.
“What do you mean?” questioned Zero.
“Well, it turns out, while you were over there spying on your betrothed, Gordon had a nice little run-in with Jacob.”
“What?” question Zero.
“Yeah, the hot shot booger turned himself into a scorpion.. would you believe that?”
“No kidding”
“Yeah of course. You know, he has no idea about Gordon and his family so Gordon took off.”
“Wait a minute are you telling me…”
“Yep... Jacob got away from Gordon. Gordon is still out killing our people.”
“I knew he didn’t change. His plans are…”. Once again, Connor interrupted.
“I don’t know but we have to figure this out”
Zero and Connor were eager to share with each other, but time was of the essence. “We got to figure this out. Gordon isn’t even at his house right now”.
“No?” questioned Connor. “But ...where could he be?”
“I don’t know but this isn’t good. Might be worth a second look on earth”.
“Okay Zero. But wait until we here back from November”
“But that could be days from now,” a concerned Zero responded.
“Jacob is here, he only went for him. November should be back any moment.”
“Lets hope so,” sighed Zero.
