Zenora, The Dragon's Fury

Chapter 68. Pinned Down

“LEAVE HER ALONE!!” I screamed, yelled, commanded, begged. I don’t care how I get through this, but she has to live!

In between all the torture that we were both going through, Hayden just stood there, laughing. The motherfucker was laughing!

The pain dragged me downwards, my knees gave up. But hell would have to freeze over, before my mind would ever gave up on me. Not ever, will I leave this world, while my daughter is being tortured.

I have endured so much pain, suffering, stress, anger, sorrow, and what not more, all these years, that I’m not going to give up!

With all my strength I had pushed myself up, stood fierce upon all fours, raising my head and rejecting the pain that was going through me.

More and more mages, started to cast the same spell upon me, but I didn’t care anymore. The pain was excruciating already, so a little more was going to be just the same.

“Stand up!” I yelled to Iris.

She just kept screaming and squirming on the floor. Trembling in pain, not able to do anything.

“You are the Queen of all Dragon’s, the one that will take the age of Dragons into a new beginning!” I said.

She kept grunting, but managed to move her muscles again.

“You are promised to the most amazing friend I have ever had!”

She lifted one of her claws, and shifted her body.

“Your children, will be the most powerful Dragons that have ever roamed this planet!”

She now roared, massively, and lifted herself up.

I could hear Hayden gasp in confusion. “This can not be! How… How..” He stammered.

He told all his mages to use their spells, even he himself was starting to chant now, upon my body. He managed to bring me down again, as he was the most powerful mage standing here on the inside of the volcano.

But he couldn’t get me to my end, not yet.

Iris had managed to lift her head, and was now taking in a breath, so deep, that her complete chest filled itself to the maximum. And then she let out her most amazing breath of fire!

Instantly, shields from the ‘normal’ mages were formed and kept them protected for a few seconds. But they weren’t as near as powerful, as the power that Iris was emitting right now.

But even though she was powerful, stronger than anyone here, there were more people here than we could both handle together. We were not going to make this.

Hayden didn’t have to command his army, they all attacked as soon as Iris started to breath her fire.

Warriors, together with the hunter’s pets, came rushing in, arrows came surging our way and battle was really starting now. With my claws I swept warriors to the sides, smashing them into the walls, animals cried, pain washing over them upon meeting with my tail.

Iris also was fighting now, breathing fire and sweeping with her tail. She even hovered from the ground, using the wind summoned by her wings, to knock a few of our enemies down. And while being distracted she ran towards them.

I tried to protect her, keeping my wings in front of her, to catch most of the arrows that came towards us. Pain was no longer something that was withholding me, even though the Dark Mages were still casting their spells.

Anger was now the main emotion. And adrenaline was coursing through my body.

But still, with all our efforts, we only got about two-hundred of them down. And with arrows stuck in my skin, and swords and axes carving my scales, I knew this was not going to work. We need more help, we need Ayinthur!

But he is still stuck in the solid lava, sleeping, and being stubborn.

“You are going to be subdued, Queen!” Hayden yelled to me.

“You are not going to win this time!” Hayden continued.

I was starting to believe him, but I can’t give up! My people believe in me, my family and my friends believe in me, hell I think that even the Goddess believes in me!

I turned around, and focused all my energy, on the idiotic, most annoying, motherfucking, son of a…

“Lizard?”

“Oh, now you decide to join us!” Iris yelled.

“If you are going to be my King of the Dragons, the father of our children, my promised one, my lover and what not more, then you will get your fucking lizard ass out of that rock! NOW!” She commanded, while continuing her attacks upon the soldiers.

That's my girl. If she wouldn't have scolded him, then I would've.

His head was already free from the rock of lava, so he could see what was going on. His eyes started to gleam with pride, upon realizing that Iris was the gorgeous Dragon, that he was hearing just now.

Ayinthur didn’t need to hear the confirmation of their love, twice.

“Yes, my Queen!” He said with a chuckle.

He closed his eyes and started to hum. Is he going to fall asleep again?!

“No Emily, there is a specific reason that I chose this spot, watch.” He said through the link.

His black head began to heat up, warmth radiating from his skin, and although I couldn’t see it, I could imagine that his whole body was warming up. Temperature was rising quickly, and his black scales were turning red. Soon, the ground around him was shaking, and at the places that we had already molten the lava, gas came bursting out from underneath.

From a yard or two beneath the surface, the floor was lighting up. Everything around Ayinthur was starting to turn red, and soon the ground was dissolving in the heat of the newly molten lava!

Ayinthur shook his head, wings, claws and tail, renewed from his long, more than a year lasting hibernation!

Hayden got frightened for a moment, but came to his senses swiftly, and commanded the other Dark Mages to target their spells upon him.

More and more of Hayden’s army came rushing in, instantly fighting us three and trying to get us down to the floor. But why isn’t he trying to kill us? Why does he only want to subdue us?

“Get her!” Hayden yelled to his men, pointing at Iris.

I couldn’t do both to protect her, and keep fighting off dozens and dozens of men, that continued to rush in. Even after killing so many already, it seemed like an endless battle!

Ayinthur got worried too, but he kept fighting at Iris her side.

If we were only able to fly up, so that we could leave! But the Dark Mages did everything in their power, to stop our wings from being used. Magical contraptions, stunning spells and numbing poisonous bombs, were used against us. We just weren’t capable of flying at the moment!

I got more tired by the second and couldn’t stop all the things that were coming in my way. And because I ‘only’ had my Dragon’s powers at hand right now, instead of my others, I couldn’t deflect any incoming objects with my own magic.

Within a few more minutes, the hunters and warriors had orchestrated a combined action under the command of Hayden, to trap me in ropes and metal cables. I tried to chew them loose, ripping them apart with my claws, but nothing worked.

A few more ropes and cables were shot over my body, and pinned me down to the ground.

A/n: This is getting excited, right? I can barely restrain myself! 💛
