Zenora, The Dragon's Fury

Chapter 56. Time Flies

Iris’ point of view:

I was standing in front of my mirror, combing my hair like a maniac. He was coming and I wanted to look at my best. Every time he is here, he only stays for four days, and I want to spend that time, at the best of my ability.

“I am here little one.” It sounded in my head.

I saw my eyes glow bright purple, so I dropped my comb and rushed myself towards the stone terrace. There, when I opened the door, I saw the black scaled beast waiting for me to greet him. My feet couldn’t go faster and I was ready to jump on his back.

“Oh no you don’t!” Mother yelled.

“Iris, did you really think that I let you fly off into the night, Goddess knows how far?” She said while she kept a shield around my body, as I hung there in mid-air.

“But Mom…” I tried, but got met by some angry, red glowing eyes.

Ayinthur chuckled at me, but got muzzled by Mother’s words.

“And you! Were you not even going to greet us, before you fly off with my twelve year old daughter?” She scolded him.

Seriously? He just wanted to take me for a short flight, to talk about all the things that I have been through the last few months. It’s not like he is my boyfriend or anything! He just gets me, and he lets me rant about all those awful boys and girls that laugh at my horns or scales.

I mean, I am half Dragon and stronger than any of those stupid boys. But the names they gave me, hurt me.

Ayinthur frowned towards me.

“Listen to your mother, get down, and we will talk tomorrow. Alright?” He said to me with a serious face, and I nodded.

What was going on, why the sudden change of mood?

These four days went by quickly, where I went to school for a few hours, then ate lunch and spend the rest of my day with Ayinthur.

Often, Mother commanded me to join in with the trials or some meetings, because she found it important that I participate in such things. I am the Princess, and I know I should experience these things, but I didn’t like it, I just wanted to play and talk with Ayinthur.

Today is my sixteenth birthday and Ayinthur always comes to see me on this day. He always brings me a great present, like last year where he gave me a pink diamond. I had asked the blacksmith to craft a necklace around it, and now it never leaves my neck.

I got up and wanted to put on my clothes.

“Iris, please stay here. I don’t want you to leave.” Max said to me.

Since last year, Max has become my boyfriend. Mother never approved of it, but I promised her to keep myself for the one, of whom I was seriously sure of. And even though I don’t like my mother’s judgement, I’m not one to lie about that subject, so me and Max never had the actual sex yet. Nor did I wanted to. I was as scared as hell for it.

Max was kind enough to wait for me, even though I knew he wanted to go further. He was eighteen already and no longer a virgin, and sure we had been fooling around, and he even made me have an orgasm once or twice, but we never did the actual act.

I was glad that he could restrain himself and respected my wishes. I mean, sixteen is still a bit young for a girl to lose her virginity right?

“You know what day it is Max, and you know who comes here today.” I said to him.

“Yes, how can I forget? I mean, six months ago I had to dodge one of his fireballs, because he didn’t want anyone near you!” Max said and I chuckled.

He was right, Ayinthur is pretty protective when it comes to me. Whenever I had told him that someone said bad things, or did bad things to me, I always found out next morning that he had visited that person and scared the hell out of him or her. I scolded him for doing that, as I am strong enough to face the pesters, head on myself, but on the other hand, it was fun to see them squirm in their seats, the next day at school.

Mother had made me go to school until I was thirteen. To get taught how to read, have understanding of the human body, the animal kingdom and such things. She always pushed me to the limit and I aced every subject. So, when I had learned the majority of it, she taught me the rest, together with diplomacy and politics.

My brothers had the same upbringing, and I like how smart they are, so I always tried to follow in their footsteps.

“Well if you don’t want to dodge another one of those fireballs, I suggest you start climbing out of my window.” I said to him and he grunted.

I gave him a quick kiss, and left my room, after I saw him getting down the banister.

Breakfast was quick and I heard an awesome roar outside. I smiled from ear to ear and looked towards mother for a moment, pleading for her to nod, so I could go outside. She did finally, so I stood up and ran as fast as I could.

Ayinthur stood there, on the stone terrace, just like every other time he arrived here. I jumped up, using my tail to push off from the ground as well, to launch me higher up in the air. With ease I landed on his back and he took off.

“So, how are you doing little one?” He asked me.

“Great! I’m sixteen now, getting all grown up. But Mother gives me more and more responsibilities to attend to, and it is rather time consuming. At the end of the day I’m exhausted. It’s not easy being a Princess!” I complained a little.

He simply nodded, but didn’t ask me further about it.

“And how is your boyfriend?” He asked me with saying the word ‘boyfriend’ as if it is something dirty.

“Good, he is patient enough to wait for me. So I’m glad.”

“What? So you mean you haven’t, you know… done that?” He asked me in almost a whisper.

It was somewhat strange to talk about my sex-life with him, but I always could feel that I was free to confide with him about all the things that happened to me. So, why not this subject too then?

“You mean sex? No I haven’t. What do you think of me? I’m not some girl that spreads her legs with the first boy that comes around in my life!” I said to him.

“Good.” He said, and let out a breath I’m sure he didn’t know he was holding in.

I know he is protective of me, but he can’t say when I get to have sex.

“Where are we going to?” I suddenly asked him, as I noticed that he was going to a direction, I haven’t been to before.

“That’s a surprise.” He said.

He showed me the most magnificent cave of all times. As we walked inside, crystals in every colour stuck out of the walls, ceiling and floor. The clusters of those shiny objects shimmered all around me, lighting up the cave into every little corner. The crystals at the beginning were reflecting a ray of sunshine that came in through the entrance, and mirrored through the entire cave, by using all the other crystals.

I sat myself down in the middle of the cave, and let all those amazing colours shine upon my body. I took off my jacket, so I only had my top and leather pants left to wear, and I heard Ayinthur gasp. But I ignored him, and had let the rainbow of light shine against the flat surface of my scales. My purple and pink scales lit up a bit, and when I turned my arm I noticed that my scales reflected the light as well!

“So beautiful.” I heard Ayinthur whisper, while he looked at me.

“What did you say?” I asked him to make sure.

“Oh, that it is beautiful in here, don’t you think?” He said while instantly turning his head, into another direction.

I waited for a second to answer his question. Was he saying that I am beautiful? And is he blushing right now? I mean, he is black all over, so I can’t actually see him blush, but I know him. He is shameful about something.

“Yes, it is beautiful in here Ayinthur. Thanks for showing me. It’s a great gift.”
