Your Guise Is Slipping, Miss Pearl (Pearl and Richard)

Chapter 1368

Chapter 1368

Pearl couldn't access the hospital's surveillance system at that moment. Feeling anxious, she brainstormed other ideas.

Then, something clicked, and she dashed out of the hospital to a small shop across the street. Noticing a surveillance camera above the door, she approached the store owner, a friendly- looking woman. "I'm so sorry to bother you, but my son is missing. Could I please check your surveillance footage?"

"Of course," the owner replied, seeing Pearl's distress. "The computer is right here." Pearl quickly turned on the footage, which had a clear view of the hospital's entrance. She scrutinized the recording for any sign of a five or six-year-old child but saw nothing.

Seeing Pearl's worried look, the shop owner suggested, "Maybe check for people carrying large items. Sometimes, they hide kids in boxes or bags."

Taking the advice, Pearl reviewed the footage again and spotted a suspicious man carrying a large luggage at 3:30 pm. He glanced around nervously before loading the luggage into a car but didn't leave immediately. Instead, he got in, did something briefly, then drove off ten minutes later toward the west.

Pearl guessed he might have freed someone from inside the luggage. The thought of her son being trapped inside while injured broke her heart.

She wrote down the car's license plate number. Then, she called a number she knew well. "Hello, who is this?" a confused voice answered.

"Wayne, I need your help," Pearl said, her voice trembling.

Wayne was startled, leaping out of the couch in surprise "Miss Pearl, is that you? Have you remembered everything?"

"Yes, it's me. I don't have time to explain, but I need your help."

Wayne was delighted that his search for Pearl for so many years had not been futile. She had finally recalled her memories.

Wayne's tone turned serious. "What do you need? I'll do whatever it takes."

"My son is missing. I think someone has kidnapped him."

Wayne was alarmed. "Do you know who kidnapped him?"

"I'm not sure yet. I don't know who I might have upset or who took him," Pearl said, taking a deep breath to steady herself. "All I have is the license plate of the car and a vague idea of what the man looks like. I'll send you the photo. Help me do the analysis. We need to find this man and the car's owner."

"Okay, don't worry. Leave it to me."

After the call, Pearl sent Wayne the necessary photos and left the shop.

She returned to the hospital, where Richard lay in a coma. Without any leads or clues and with the vastness of the city daunting her, finding her son felt like searching for a needle in a haystack.
