Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband

Chapter 1492 To Return Home Early

1492  To Return Home Early

Wen Zac looked at Ming Lan's flushed face and her moist and swollen lips. His thumb gently brushed along them as he asked, "Does it feel like before?"

With her head lowered and pink blush covering her entire face, she nodded as that shy smile didn't leave her lips.

"Then we can move forward from where we had left," she heard him again and she nodded quietly. Her cheeks felt hot as if all the blood was rushing towards her face, to expose what she was feeling.

"Do you want to continue?" he asked but…

Just then the intercom inside the room rang. Wen Zac sighed but didn't move away from his wife, as if he didn't hear the ringing of the phone.

"Zac…." Ming Lan looked at him, "The phone…"

"Is that important at this moment?" he looked not interested in picking up the call.

"It's from home. Mother must be calling us for breakfast. It's already late," she tried to reason out.

"Do you want to pick up that call?" he asked, as if it didn't matter to him.

She nodded, "Let me answer it."

Wen Zac stepped aside as he didn't wish to go against her wish but said, "I am sure it's not my mother. She is smart enough to know when to not disturb others."

Ming Lan ignored his suggestive words and went to answer the intercom.

"Hello?"

"Hmm! In five minutes."

Ming Lan put the receiver down and informed, "Assistant Wu here."

Wen Zac frowned, "Didn't he go home from the airport? He sure needs his bonus cut for the year for disturbing at the wrong time," and went towards the mirror to fix his shirt and hair to get ready.

Ming shyly smiled at how annoyed Wen Zac looked and said, "I am going downstairs to help mother."

"You don't need to. Servants are there," he said and he looked at her through the mirror.

"I know, but I want to…."

"Fine!" He agreed knowing she was trying to do something as the daughter-in-law of the house. She needed to be with everyone as she was away and it was a good time to bond with every one in the family.

Ming Lan went downstairs where Mr Wen was talking with the assistant Wu Ren. A brown haired man in his mid thirties, his hair set neatly, wearing a suit was an assistant of Wen Zac and accompanied him everywhere.

He stood up and bowed to MIng Lan, "Good Morning, Young Mistress."

"Morning, Mr Wu," she greeted him back and went to check in the dining room to help her mother-in-law who was instructing servants.

From the looks of it, Ming Lan could see her mother-in-law had prepared today's breakfast in a grand way. She must be happy as her son was back.

"Mother, what should I help you with?" she asked.

"Hmm!" she thought and said, "You can help with enjoying the breakfast and tell me if it's tasty."

Ming Lan smiled while the main servant in the kitchen spoke, "Madam has cooked a few dishes by herself for you and the young master. I am sure the Young Mistress will find it tasty."

"Oh! I look forward to tasting it then."

In a while everyone came to the dining room as Mr Wen also invited assistant Wu to accompany them for breakfast. Wen Zac came after everyone sat in their chairs and sat next to Ming Lan.

He looked at his assistant, "Wu Ren, do you have to follow me just after we returned from the business trip." contemporary romance

"Good Morning, Boss," Wu Ren first greeted as he stood up from his chair and Wen Zac gestured him to sit down. "I dare not disturb you boss, but something was left in my car that I had to get back to you."

"What is it," Wen Zac asked.

"That, I can not say," Wu Ren replied, "I had given it to Young Miss. You can get it from her."

Wen Zac looked at his sister to which she smiled and Wen Zac realized something. "Fine!"

As they ate, they talked about various things. Mrs Wen served more food to Wu Ren.

"Mrs Wen…"

"Eat more, Wu Ren. You need to get more energy so you can keep up with when my son makes you run here and there."

"That's my job, Mrs Wen," he accepted politely.

"You two must have been exhausted a lot. Look at Zac, how tired he is looking," she said as she observed her son.

"Boss sure is so tired. He didn't sleep for two days so he can finish all the work and return home…"

"Don't you think you are talking too much Wu Ren," Wen Zac passed him a cold glare.

"Well, I was just stating a fact, but apologies, boss."

Ming Lan looked at him and wondered, 'Was it because I was retuning home? He didn't show it at all when I asked how come he was back so early.'

"Why are you scolding him, Zac?" Mrs Wen interrupted her son, "It's good that he said it so we can let you rest and you are not allowed to go to the office. You have been working like a machine for these past few months as if you are possessed by work."

Liwei giggled. "No mother, you are mistaking. He was not possessed by work but I am sure he was making up for the absence of my sister-in-law. He missed her terribly."

Mrs Wen agreed. "True!"

"Liwei," Wen Zac looked at her, "When are you returning to England?" and looked at his assistant, "Wu Ren, book flight for her. She is missing her studies."

"Mother, look at him," Liwei said with a sad face.

"No one is going anywhere. After so long we all are together and I want you all here only," Mrs Wen declared. Her words were the last ones that everyone always followed in the family.

"Did you hear, my dear brother?" Liwei asked.

"As long as you behave."

Ming Lan was eating quietly while listening all this. 'Did he really miss me?' A light smiled appeared on her lips as she continued eating with her head lowered.

Wen Zac glanced at her and noticed it and continued eating quietly. They had a lot of time in hand to express each other and what they felt for past six months. He was sure to tell and express everything as past six months were enough to check his patience.
