"Benedict, aren't you a gentleman? How could you make fun of me too? You've learned their bad habits!" Leigh felt a pang in her
heart.
"Leigh, you're so biased." Madison teased, "How could you say that he learned those bad habits from us? Why can't it be that we
learned it from him?"
She argued, "Benedict is a gentleman, whereas you guys are all rascals!"
Then, she waved her hand. "Forget it. I'm not spewing any more nonsense with you guys. Caitlin and I were talking about
serious business when you guys interrupted us! Katy..."
Turning her head toward Caitlin, she asked, "So, have you decided yet? Are you staying?"
"Yes, I've made up my mind," Caitlin answered with a grin. "Since you're so sincere in hiring me, of course, I'll stay!"
Leigh is right. I found the witness, proved that my dad is innocent, and the bad guys received the punishment they deserved. I
have exacted my revenge.
After having grown tired of her nomadic life, she thought that she should settle down. With no more blood relatives, the people at
Oasis Law Office were the closest she had to a family.
Although she and the others from Oasis Law Office had not spent much time together, she could clearly tell that all of them were
groups of passionate and upright people. Moreover, she, Madeline, and Leigh especially hit it off, so she thought it was her best
option to settle down at Oasis Law Office.
"That's great!" Leigh beamed and high-fived Caitlin before turning to Leah. "What about you, Leah? Are you still leaving?"
"I still have to accept the tasks that require me to leave the city," answered Leah.
"After listening to your conversation, I'd still like to remind you guys about something." Avery interrupted them. "All four of you
delicate ladies should leave the running-around to men like us and just stay in Dusktown to deal with our internal affairs. Those
are important too because the more cases you take, the more money you earn. Right, boys?"

"Yes!"
"You're right!"
"On point, Avery!"
The men in Oasis Law Office all voiced their support for Avery.
"That works too." Leah grinned. "I'll hand over the tasks that require heading outside to you boys first and take on those that you
guys can't cope with."
"Leah, what about your grandfather? Will he do anything to you if you stay in Dusktown?" Madeline was concerned.
Leah's home was located in Dusktown. Furthermore, the Sawyer Family used to be a noble family in Dusktown, but they
declined to be part of the nobles when it came to Rufus Sawyer's generation.
Since Rufus had limited capabilities, the family gradually deteriorated after being handed over to Leah's grandfather. Their
expenses soon overcame their income, and one of the more prominent families in Dusktown slowly became a small and ordinary
family.
There was even a time when the Sawyers were in such bad conditions that they had to sell their family inheritance just to get by.
As their days progressed harder, Rufus decided to divide their family.
He had three sons, and Leah's father was his eldest child.
According to tradition, the older generation would most likely value their eldest son and grandson, but in the Sawyer Family,
Rufus pampered his second and third sons the most. In other words, Leah's father was his least favorite.
Therefore, when it came to dividing their families, all the valuables were given to Leah's uncles, whereas her parents only
received a warehouse that was severely losing money with a huge debt to pay.

Since Leah's mother was dissatisfied with her husband always submitting to adversity, she divorced him after they had a big fight
and brought Leah's older brother with her.
Meanwhile, Leah's maternal grandfather only had a son and daughter, while her uncle had three daughters. Therefore, the Day
Family needed a successor.
After Leah's mother brought her son back home, she had her son change his last name to her maiden last name and became
the Days' successor. From then on, they never contacted the Sawyers.
Since Leah's father was talented in business with hints of luck, he was able to turn the tides on the failing warehouse and slowly
develop it into the leading enterprise of its industry and earn a hefty profit.
At the same time, Leah's uncles were doing the opposite. They would lose every business they started and gradually use up all
the inheritance they received.
As the days became harder to come by, Leah's uncles turned their attention to the company that Leah's family owned and told
Leah's father that they would like to join his company.
Ever since their family separated, Leah's father had lost his wife and son, and he had completely fallen out with his father and
brothers. Hence, why would he let his brothers enter his company?
Therefore, he sternly rejected them.
A year later, Leah's father passed away in a car accident.
Leah kept suspecting that her father's death was related to her two uncles, but she had no proof. Even after she called the cops
and spent a hefty amount of money to hire a private investigator, the results she received all proved that the car accident that
killed her father was, indeed, just an accident.
Although her gut told her that her father's death was her uncles' doing, she had no proof nor could she do anything about them.

Soon after her father's passing, her grandfather located her and requested she let her uncles take over her father's company.
Whether it was Rufus or Leah's uncles, all of them never expected that her father had written a will, which strictly stated that all
of his assets would be passed down to Leah, regardless of his cause of death.
As their days progressed harder, Rufus decided to divide their family.
Henceforth, Leah's uncles had to get her consent before they could join the company.
Back then, she told her grandfather that she would consider it, yet she immediately sold the company for a high amount of
money and saved it all up in a bank for wealth management.
Even if she decided not to lift a finger for the rest of her life, she could still lead a good life with the investments she made. Yet,
no matter how much money she earned, she never once gave a penny to her uncles.
Since she did not own the company anymore, her grandfather and uncles had no reason to bother her anymore. The money was
just a trail of numbers after being handed to the bank, so they could not get any benefits from it either.
As a result, her actions pissed both her uncles off and her grandfather was so utterly furious that he criticized her for being
unfilial. Turning a blind eye to his words, she soon went abroad.
Later, she met Madeline in Worrick, and the two felt like they were long-lost friends. She then joined Oasis Law Office and
became a member of the team.
Meanwhile, Rufus and his two sons were having a hard time and placed their hopes of getting rich overnight on Leah. Hence,
they began to search for her.
Because she had to travel around the globe to complete her tasks at Oasis Law Office, she rarely stayed in one place for a long
time, so Rufus and his sons could not do anything to bother her.
Now that Leah had decided to stay in Dusktown, Madeline was worried that Leah's grandfather and uncles would hunt her down
again.

"It's fine. I have a good idea." Leah smiled faintly. "If they come to me, I'll tell them that I've written a will that says if I were to
pass away in an accident, all my assets would be donated to Oasis Law Office, so they won't get even a penny! Actually..."
While shaking her head, she smiled albeit her eyes showed sadness. "I keep thinking that if my father had told my grandfather
and two uncles about the will, maybe he wouldn't have died. After all, if they killed him and got caught, they would have to pay
with their lives. It's such a huge risk, and they wouldn't get any benefits in the end, so why did they have to kill him if it weren't out
of hatred?"
It was unfortunate that the lawyer only revealed her father's will after he died.
If her father had revealed his will to her grandfather and uncles while he was still alive, perhaps her father would not have died.
Still, if that was the case, her grandfather would have called her father an unfilial child and begun harassing him nonstop just to
make him alter his will.
Perhaps, her father had thought of this possibility, which was why he chose not to reveal the contents of his will.
The person who loved her the most in this world was her father. Though he had left everything he owned to her, he was not
around anymore...
