Chapter 2: 2: Check, Please
Nolan's POV
"Nolan!" Someone yelled rather loudly.
"What?" I said sleepily. I opened my eyes, the room was hot and bright. I lived in a kick-ass apartment, with a killer view of the city, but while the view was amazing, it was nearly impossible to sleep in.
Still half asleep, I grabbed the baseball cap on my nightstand and put it on my face, in an attempt to shield my eyes. Next to me, I felt a warm body stir.
"You were talking in you sleep," Olivia -- no, Bianca -- said.
"Yeah, sorry." I rubbed my eyes and focused them on the woman beside me. She was brunette and pretty -- generic. "I was dreaming," I said, looking into her brown eyes. God I love girls with brown eyes. I really lucked up this time.
"What kind of dream?" She smiled brightly, and I smirked.
"You know what kind of dream," I said, pulling her close to me and kissing her on the lips. I didn't know her, but hey, why not take advantage of this perfectly good woman? Besides, she is HOT.
She giggled in surprise, and I turned our bodies so that I was on top of her and her legs wrapped around my waist. "Condom," she said breathlessly, and I nodded.
"Condom," I repeated, reaching over and grabbing one from the nightstand. Isn't this a great start of a morning?
After the sex, which was surprisingly better than I thought it would be, considering I was too drunk to perceive how it was last night, Bianca told me she was hungry, so I decided to take her out for breakfast. Cool, no problem. It's the least I could do. I threw on a leather jacket then helped her in hers. I could be sweet when I wanted to be. Which was very rare of course.
We pulled up at the restaurant that was literally right around the corner, and I parked my Mercedes Benz. I turned off the engine, and rushed to the other side to open her door. She smiled brightly at me, and I returned her smile, taking her hand and leading her inside.
We sat in an empty booth, ordered, and I suddenly realized the huge mistake I made. What if she thinks this is a date? I clinched at the very thought, disgusted. Eek. Dates equal relationships. Which, I happen to despise. I don't understand why people always have to complicate everything with "love". Don't they understand that that's when everything starts going wrong? You tell someone you love them, and you want to be with them, and everything's downhill from there.
She smiled brightly at me, her brown eyes sparkling, and I half smiled back. She looked so happy it almost made me regret having to finish something that I didn't particularly start. Geez, you'd think. As many times as I've done this it'll make things easier. But, it's not. It's not really my fault though. Girls misinterpret things.
"So," she started, and I swear my heart stopped. "What do you wanna do today?" She looked at me expectantly, and I sighed heavily.
"Listen," I decided to go the candid route this time around, and just lay it all on the table. "Britney." She furrowed her brows, and I realized my mistake. Something with a 'B', I thought to myself.
"Bonnie. Whatever your name is. I don't have time for a relationship. I have to focus on work, and bills, and cars, and not you." She blinked at me, with a face filled with mixed emotions, and I shrugged. "If it helps, I'm sorry."
Before I knew it, she was up on her feet and I was covered in ice cold tea. Man am I glad I didn't order a coffee. "You bastard!" She yelled, and I nodded slowly licking my lips.
"Now that's one I haven't heard in a while," I mumbled, and her mouth dropped. I resisted the urge to laugh, and was rewarded with a very exaggerated groan. She grabbed her purse with an attitude, and then stormed off. "It was nice meeting you," I called, getting a lot of glares from people. I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "Can I get the check, please?"☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
