Chapter 5
I didn’t see my sexy protector for a couple of days after that amazing, mind blowing kiss.
They say a good kiss will make the stars explode, well let me tell you, that kiss made the big bang go off in my head.
I felt it all. Fire, earthquakes. Fucking hurricanes in my core. Her skin was burning with electricity. It was so soft I could feel it forever.
Her lips. My God. Like goddamn heaven. I’m sure if I had five more minutes, we would have both been in that cab.
Just from that one kiss, I was so hard, I had to beat it out in order to sleep that night. The fantasies? I’m sure they were illegal in forty states.
I swear, when I see her again, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to control myself. My wolf hasn’t stopped since then either. He was curious before, now he’s downright obsessed. I’ve had to run him between training sessions just to keep him quiet.
Before my training sessions, I usually hit the gym to warm up. I’m at the back, doing bench presses when a waft of raspberries hits my nose. I scrunch my brow and rack my bar.
I sit up and my jaw goes slack. The air completely left the room.
In white, extremely tight leggings and a very, very small, tight sport bra, was my sexy Allie.
I watch as she stops at a floor punching bag.
She stretches. Bending over and moving from one leg to another.
My brow comes together as my face softens. I wipe my mouth with the back of my arm.
I don’t take my eyes off her as I adjust the semi in my shorts.
She stands and pulls her arms to stretch them out.
I lick my lips as her back muscles flex.
“Hot damn!” I growl. I stand and go into stalk mode.
“Allie!” I wave as I walk up.
She scowls at me which I’m starting to find makes her look very adorable. “I thought we agreed.”
“I know, but that was then and this is now. Want a partner?” I ask.
“Alpha Bourne…” She shakes her head.
“Darcy.” I place my hand on my chest. “Please, for the love of God, call me Darcy. Alpha Bourne sounds weird.”
“I’m not…” She starts.
I put my hands together in a prayer pose. “Please.”
“Fine.” She heaves a breath. “Darcy. I just want to work out and get back to work, ok?”
My name off her lips was like honey dripping from heaven. I honestly think her saying my name has knocked her screaming it off the list. Well, maybe it’s a tie. Either way, I love it.
“Listen. I’m a great sparring partner. I am a trainer after all. Show me what you got.” I motion to the bag.
She huffs in frustration. I’m annoying the shit out of her, but frankly I don’t care. Right now, I’m soaking in the privilege of being this close to that smoking hot body.
She tapes her hands and goes into her stance. She squares herself and throws her punches. I hold the bag steady and watch her amazing body release it’s power.
I study every inch of her. Her abs, how the flex when she punches. Her biceps. Her thighs. Every damn inch is committed to memory.
After a few rounds, I stop her. “Ok. Hold up.”
I walk around and step up behind her. My eyes go straight to her ass. She stands and looks over her shoulder. I see her irritation.
“Ok. You’re good, but you could be better. You’re too tight across the chest. Keep it somewhat loose. Hold your fist like this. See?” I make a fist and hit the bag. “Line it up. You have less risk on your wrist. You’re stance needs to tighten up.”
I place my hands on her hips.
“Alpha…” She starts.
“Ah!...Darcy.” I hold a finger up to her.
“Darcy. Remove your hands before I remove them for you.” She glares at me.
“Settle down. I’m training. This is how I train Ok. Focus. Come on.” I push her toward the bag. “Crouch your knees slightly, square your hips. Use your weight.” I put my hand on her back. “Throw it.” I bark.
She throws a left.
“More.” I bark again.
She throws a right.
“Good. Again.” I order. I let her go and walk around her.
She throws another.
“Good girl. Again.” I watch her as she throws punch after punch.
“More power, Allie. Come on. Kill it!” I encourage.
She huffing out growls as she hits the bag over and over.
“Yes! Beautiful! Fucking kill it!” I shout at her.
I walk around and watch as her delicious skin becomes slick with sweat.
“Change it! Defense!” I bark.
She’s punching and dodging as I pace back and forth.
“That’s it, girl! You got this! Combos, now!” I’m getting so hot barking orders at her and her complying. The Alpha in me taking control over her has me thinking so many bad things.
I stop her and she’s barely breathing. She leans on her knees and tries to catch her breath.
I reach for her water bottle and hand it to her. “That was really good. Ever think of training as a job?”
She takes a drink and shakes her head. “I like my job.”
“I’d love to get you out on the field sometime. See what you do to me.” I smile and lean on the punching bag.
“I don’t think so.” She looks at me.
“Why not?” I ask.
She points to me. “Because you agreed to leave me alone.”
“I don’t know if I can do that, Sugar.” I grin.
She arches a brow. “Sugar?”
I cross my arms on the bag and lean my chin on them. I grin sweetly. “Yeah.”
She scowls and lifts a leg. She kicks the bag hard which makes me stumble back. I look at her confused and concerned.
She points to me. “I am so not your Sugar.” She spits and grabs her stuff. She storms out of the gym and out of sight.
I rub my side and run my fingers through my hair. “Shit.”

Later that day, I’m posted in Zanes lab with Zane, Saysha and Azriel.
I’m leaning on the table with my elbow and my cheek is resting in my hand. I’m clearly depressed.
Azriel is poking my brain trying to find what I forgot.
“What's wrong with me?” I mumble.
Zane leans on the table. “Don't worry, buddy. If anyone can find what you forgot, Azriel can.”
I scrunch my face. “Not that.” I flop my hand down on the table. “Allie! No matter what I do, she won’t give me the time of day.”
Zane’s head hits the table.
Azriel growls in frustration. “I can't…I can’t get anything because all he thinks about is sex with Allie!” He throws up his hands.
Zane lifts his head. “Darcy. We need in your head, ok. We can talk about your love life after. Concentrate.”
I go back to leaning my head on my hand. “Fine.”
Azriel goes back to poking my brain. “Ok. I got something. I see a raven. I hear waves.” He focuses.
I drop my arm on the table. “Do you think she’d like roses?”
“DARCY!” the room yells.
Zane flops on the table. Saysha grabs the bride of her nose. Azriel throws his hands up and walks away.
I look at them with a whiney face. “Guys. I really need help, ok. I’ve never struck out before. This is…icky. I don’t like it.”
Zane sighs. “Dude. She’s not into you. Call the hunt. It’s over.”
I point to him. “I’m no quitter.” I growl.
I lean back. “Azriel, don’t you have like a love potion? A little Darcy in a bottle I could use.”
Azriel came up behind me. “My boy, the last thing you ever want to use magic on is love. It never ends well.” He taps my shoulder and walks away.
“I don’t want love, just a little nudge to get her in the sheets.” I hold my hands out.
“Geez, Darc. Maybe it’s the way you talk. Ever think of that?” Zane says crossing his arms.
“What’s wrong with how I talk?” I ask.
Saysha clears her throat. “You’re a little sexually forward.”
“A little? The guys a pig!” Zane looks at her as he holds a hand out to me.
“Hey!” I scowl.
Zane leans his hands on the table. “You gonna deny it, Mr. Your place or mine?” He glares at me.
“Well, no, but my lines have never failed me before.” I say.
“Maybe you need to take a step back. Reassess the situation.” Saysha says.
I think about what she’s saying. I wag my finger. “You know what? You’re right. I’m just in a slump.”
“OK. So let’s get what’s in your head out and you can go home…” Zane says before I stand up.
“No. I can’t. I need to fix this.” I walk to the end of the table. “Yeah. I need to go out there, pick up a couple of winners and get my game back.”
“That’s not what I meant at all.” Saysha says holding her hands out.
“No. That’s exactly what I need. I’m not feeling good about myself so I need to throw a couple bones out and get back in the saddle. Thanks, Say.” I smile as I leave the lab.
“Darcy!” I hear from the lab as I jog out there to get ready for a night of hunting.

The next morning, I’m my whistling self as I walk through the halls.
Last night I had an amazing hunt. Scored a red head and then scored a couple of blondes straight after.
The Darc Machine was back.
I walk through the Alpha building and see my sexy protector in the hall outside of Bears office.
She catches my eye and groans.
I hold my hands out. “Oh, come on. You may not like me, but you can at least be polite.”
I slide up beside her and prop my elbow on the wall by her head.
She eyes me. “Alpha Bourne. I’m working.”
“You promised.” I eye her back.
She rolls her eyes. “Darcy.”
I lean my back on the wall. “Ok. Maybe I shouldn’t have said what I said. I’m sorry.”
She turns her head to me and looks me over. Her head turns forward. “Apology accepted.” She sticks her chin out.
“Good.” I turn to her. “So. What I noticed in the gym is you are entirely too tense. Let me help loosen you up.” I grin.
She narrows her eyes.
I put up my hands. “A run. Nothing derogatory. Just an innocent run. Ok. Let the dogs out. Breathe some fresh air. Release some stress. What do you say?”
“A wolf run.” She side eyes me.
“Yep. I follow you. You lead the whole thing.” I nod.
She turns her head to me. “When.”
“Tomorrow nights a full moon. It’ll be the best light. How about then?” I shrug.
She looks me up and down again like she’s trying to determine if I’m real or not.
I lean to her. “Say yes.” I whisper.
“Ok. But if you try anything…” She points to me.
I put my hands up in surrender. “You’ll kick my ass. Got it.”
“Fine.” She looks straight ahead.
I grin. “Awesome! I’ll…uh…I’ll pick you up around 9pm."
“Agreed.” She mumbles.
“Great!” I say as I walk backwards. “This is gonna be great! I promise. Just awesome!”
I spin around and jog down the hall.
“Woo!” I yell as I jump and hit a light on the ceiling.
Finally! Back in the game, baby! Yes!
