Chapter 255
By telling Sylvie to be obedient, Patricia hoped that the young girl wouldn't attract Hendrick's attention. That way, her grandfather wouldn't vent his anger on Sylvie if he threw a tantrum.
Sylvie nodded. "Don't worry, Mommy. I'll be quiet."
There was a small scar on her forehead. The bandage had been removed and replaced with a band- aid, which could be concealed with her bangs. She was still an adorable young girl.
Since they were going to the Aniston Residence, Patricia helped the kids change into branded clothes. Although they were not the latest designs, the kids could pull off any clothes as they were good- looking.
The clothes looked brand new on the kids even though they were already outdated. Patricia was confident about how her children looked. The kids took after her, so they looked stunning as well.
The four of them got into the car and headed to the Aniston Residence. When they were at the manor's gates, Patricia was evidently nervous. I hope my grandfather is in a good mood today and he won't throw a tantrum when he sees the kids.
The car stopped in the driveway, after which a maid and the driver helped them open the doors.
Patricia and the kids got out of the car. Sylvie was clad in a rabbit-patterned coat and a pink mesh overlay dress. Paired with white socks and red leather shoes, she looked just like a princess.
On the other hand, Scott and Stellan were respectively swathed in monochromatic suits. One of them looked cool, while the other appeared affable.
The maids in the yard were attracted to the four of them as they chatted among themselves.
"Are those Miss Patricia's kids? They look adorable!"
"They look just like child actors straight out of the television."
With a solemn expression, Patricia took Sylvie's hand and shuffled toward the main building.
When she entered the living room, she realized many people were seated on the couches. She swept a glance over them. Basically, everyone from the Aniston Family was present. When she saw Zachary in the living room, she couldn't help but be surprised. That was because she had never told him about her background. In fact, she had never mentioned it to anyone since she left the Aniston Residence.
When Hendrick saw the four of them, he swept a glance over the kids. Before the meet-up, he thought that he wouldn't love the kids. After all, their father was some unknown man, and their birth had destroyed Patricia's future. There was no denying that he was irked by their existence.
But the moment he saw them, he was stunned. His determination turned into nothingness, and something seemed to have clicked. They're my great-grandchildren. All of them.
After all, who would have the heart to hate such adorable kids?
Patricia felt her heart leaping to her throat, for Hendrick was gaping at the kids. She was worried that
he wouldn't like them. Everyone at the scene was there to see Patricia make a fool of herself, so none of them uttered a word. They were waiting for Hendrick to blow his top.
Therefore, it was completely silent in the Aniston Residence at the moment. Everyone slowed down their breathing as they were worried that they would attract Hendrick's attention and invite trouble to themselves.
All of a sudden, Hendrick laughed heartily. "You're finally here, Patricia. Come over here, sweethearts."
Sylvie, Scott, and Stellan walked over before attempting to shake the older gentleman's hand. "Nice to meet you, Great-Grandpa."
All of them were stunned as the kids were truly lovable.
Meanwhile, Patricia batted her eyes. Who taught them this?
She turned to look at Hendrick, only to see him guffawing and telling them to drop the formalities. Sylvie ran to him and said, "Dear handsome Great-Grandpa, I'm Sylvie. I've saved my favorite candy for you."
A heart-shaped pink lollipop was held out in front of Hendrick, who became startled for a moment as though something had hit his heart.
He took the lollipop and examined it before laughing cordially. "You're so cute, Sylvie. Thank you for your candy, but can you eat it for me?"
