Chapter 241
Patricia went by the servants like she heard nothing, and the servants quickly greeted her.
"Miss Aniston!"
Patricia smiled and nodded at them, and then she went to the bathroom, leaving the servants in shock.
"Did she hear what we said?"
"Of course she did!"
"Don't worry. We'll just deny it if she asks. It's not a bad thing she heard us. At least now she knows where she stands."
The tea party had ended when Patricia came back. Everyone wanted to take a photo together, and Elizabeth waved at her. "Come here, Patricia."
Elizabeth was standing in the center. Patricia stood beside her in the first row, while Lavender stood beside Patricia, and Rose stood beside Lavender.
Gwen wasn't worthy enough for this photo. She stood in front of the table alone, staring coldly at the ladies as they took that photo happily.
Patricia and Elizabeth left after the tea party was officially over.
Lavender and Rose sent them off. The young lady asked, "Is Isaac busy, Elizabeth? It's been two week since I came back, but we haven't met even once."
She tried to ask Isaac out, but every time she called him, his assistant would pick it up and tell her to make an appointment since Isaac was busy. And she hung up every time. She tried to ask her brother for help, but he ignored her.
In the end, she asked her grandmother to hold a tea party so that she could ask Elizabeth to help her get a meeting with Isaac, but to her shock, Elizabeth came with Isaac's girlfriend. That infuriated her, and her grandmother couldn't bring up her marriage with Isaac anymore.
Elizabeth looked at Patricia and smiled. "Isaac has always been busy. He doesn't even have time for me. All his free time is left for Patricia. You can ask him out when he's done with work."
Elizabeth declined Rose's request politely and helped Isaac out in refusing her in one fell swoop.
Rose froze up. She didn't expect Elizabeth to refuse her, so she turned her attention to Patricia.
She could see Patricia was important to Elizabeth. Maybe Elizabeth likes her. I can't depend on Elizabeth if I want to meet Isaac now.
Oh no. The girl's losing composure. Rose's grandmother took over.
"I made a bracelet for you, Elizabeth."
Her servant handed a little bag to Elizabeth, who said, "Thank you."
The old ladies started chatting, and Patricia and Rose were left aside. Well, this is awkward, Rose thought.
Patricia took her phone out and looked at the time. It's after three. I can still get some work done later. She scrolled through her phone.
Rose came up to Patricia and nudged her with her shoulder. "Does Isaac spend any time with you, Miss Aniston?"
No way he does. Isaac didn't even tell her what flower he likes. I bet he doesn't want her to know anything about him. He doesn't care about her.
Patricia shifted her attention to Rose.
The girl was in a red dress and a white goat fur shawl. She had a round face and even rounder eyes. So cute. I bet she's really young too. "He's really busy and barely has time for me."
Patricia was thinking, Why should he spend time with me? Not like I'm his real girlfriend. We meet at work every day, and we live our own lives after work.
Rose beamed. I knew it. "Patricia. Can I call you Patricia? You're older than me, right? I'll add you on Messenger. We can go shopping or have some tea someday."
