Would You Rather (Campus Games Book 3): Chapter 28

What if this is a dream?

I wake up to lips pressed against my cheek, soft kisses painting a trail across my closed eyelids, my nose, my lips, and down to my neck.

My breathing quickens, but I don’t dare to open my eyes. Instead, I squeeze them tighter, clinging to this sensation for as long as I can.

It becomes impossible to pretend I’m still asleep when I hear Lucas chuckle against my cheek. “I can tell you’re awake,” he murmurs, his raspy voice sending a shiver down my spine.

My eyes remain closed, even when he presses his lips against mine over and over again. “I don’t want to wake up,” I mumble.

“Why not?” he whispers against my skin.

“What if this is a dream?” My eyebrows tug together. Last night was perfect. I had been denying my feelings for Lucas for so long that there’s a possibility I made the whole thing up, and I’m going to wake up this morning back in my apartment without Lucas there.

“It’s real,” he says, the feel of his thumb brushing against my cheek making my heart flutter. “I promise.”

I want it to be so bad, but… “I don’t know if I believe that.

He laughs again, the sound making my heart beat even faster. Wish I was awake to see it, but I don’t want to risk leaving this dream. “Mads, open your eyes.”

I let out a sigh and crack an eye open. Lucas is lying beside me with a grin on his face. He’s still here. He didn’t disappear. I take the plunge and open both of my eyes. “It’s real, princesa,” he whispers, kissing me. “There’s nothing fake about this. Not anymore.”

The nickname that once felt like an insult when we first met now feels like the sweetest compliment I could ever get.

I turn on my side to face him. He smiles, swiping a thumb against my cheek. His arm wraps around my waist and pulls me until I’m tucked up against his chest. We’re still both naked from last night, and I can feel his erection against my leg. Nothing about this is sexual, though. It’s just our bodies unable to part, needing to be close.

Twice, I’ve woken up in the same bed as Lucas, and while I prefer to have my own space, to be able to stretch out and have the bed all to myself, waking up to him is everything I never knew I wanted.

“I’ve never slept with anyone before,” I murmur.

His brows tug together. “You mean…”

“No.” I shake my head, letting out a laugh. I wish. But unfortunately, Daniel took that from me. “I mean actual sleep,” I correct. “Like in the same bed. I thought I’d be too much of a control freak for that.”

“You are,” he says.

I shake my head. “I’m serious.”

He chuckles. “So am I,” he says, lifting an eyebrow. “You hogged the covers all night long. Wouldn’t stop kicking your feet.

My cheeks heat at the thought of him sleeping peacefully and being woken up by the need to not be restrained. What is it with hotels and tucking the covers as tight as they can, anyway? “I’m sorry,” I say, burying my head in his chest, his smell making me feel a little dizzy.

He laughs, cradling my face. “Don’t be. It was the cutest shit I’ve ever seen,” he says, leaning down to kiss me. “And so fucking worth it.”

“You enjoyed last night?” I ask him. It was everything to me, but I’ve only ever been with one guy, and until Lucas, I never bothered to change that number. I didn’t want another guy, and I didn’t want to get attached to someone just to be hurt by them all over again.

He glares at me. “Thought that was obvious.”

“Just wanted to hear you say it,” I admit, smiling up at him.

He grins, pressing his lips against mine. “I loved last night. I loved every bit. And I can’t wait for it to happen again.” Our mouths move together, our tongues sliding against each other. A moan grumbles at the back of my throat, and he pulls back, lust brimming in his eyes. “I get what you mean,” he says, swiping a thumb over my bottom lip. “This does feel like a dream.” He shakes his head. “I never thought this would happen. I was so hellbent on denying my feelings for you, but I wanted you so bad.”

I tug my bottom lip between my teeth, still feeling the burn of his kiss. “And now?” I ask him, my heart beating. “Do you still want me?”

His eyes darken as he pins me beneath him. “Yeah,” he says, flicking his tongue over my lips. “I still very much want you.”

My breathing gets heavier when I feel his hard cock pressed against my belly. “So I’m not out of your system?” I ask him. His brows furrow in question. “I thought once we broke the tension between us, that would be it,” I admit. “You’d have enough of me, and you’d be running out the door.”

“No fucking way,” he says with a grunt. “You’re stuck with me. I’m afraid you made a mistake. I’m addicted now.” He leans down and kisses me. “To your lips, to the taste of your pussy. To you. There’s no getting rid of me.”

I let out a shaky exhale when he trails down to my breasts, swiping the tip of his tongue over my nipples. I never knew they were so sensitive, but I swear, a few more licks and I’m going to come. “That’s fine by me,” I tell him, wrapping my arms around his neck. “I don’t want you to go anywhere.”

He pulls off me with a pop and smirks down at me. “Who are you, and what have you done with Madeline Davis?” His brows tug together. “She would never say such sweet words to me. She would tell me how much I annoy her, or call me an asshole, or say she hates—”

I shut him up with a kiss, getting lost in the taste of his lips. “I don’t hate you,” I tell him. “Far from it.”

He lets out a sigh, kissing me back. “Me too,” he whispers against my lips. “So far from it.” His lips meet mine with need, and I open up for him, wrapping my legs around his waist. His cock slides through my pussy that’s already so wet for him and I moan into his mouth.

“Meet my family.”

My eyes snap open, and I furrow my brows at him. “Your cock is two seconds away from being inside me, and you’re asking me to meet your family?”

He laughs. “I’m serious,” he says. “They’re obsessed with you, and they want to meet you.” His lips find mine. “I want them to know you.

My hands wrap around his hair, my fingers getting intertwined in his curls. “But you said they don’t care about who you date.”

His cheeks turn a deep shade of pink, and his eyes narrow. “I lied,” he says. “They knew it was fake.”

My eyes widen. “They did?” Well, shit. At least I don’t feel guilty about all of my friends knowing.

He nods. “Yeah.” He kisses me. “You’re not mad I broke the NDA?”

I shake my head. “No, I’m not mad. Especially since the girls all know.”

His eyes narrow. “Which means their boyfriends also know.”

I nod, a smirk on my lips. “Probably, yeah.”

He laughs and shakes his head. “So at the party…”

I nod. “They knew,” I admit. “They were convinced I had feelings for you.”

He grins. “And they were right.”

I tug his hair, which he lets out a grunt at. “Not exactly. You still annoyed the living shit out of me.”

He laughs and leans down to press his lips to my neck. “Don’t lie. Everyone could tell how obsessed with me you were.”

My eyes close at the feel of his lips on me. “I take it back. I hate you,” I breathe out.

“No, you don’t,” he murmurs against my skin. “You’re obsessed with me.”

“I am not.” But my body betrays me by moving against his, wanting him closer.

“Yes, you are,” Lucas says before pulling back and looking into my eyes. “But don’t worry, the feeling’s mutual.” He grins. “So where did we land on meeting my family?”

I’d love to. “If they knew it was fake, then what would they think if you brought me to meet them?”

“They’d know it’s real,” he says. “They’d know that you’re mine and that I want them to meet you.” He tilts his head. “Are you okay with that?” he asks.

I nod, tugging my lip between my teeth. “Yeah, I am.”

He grins and kisses me. “Want to repeat last night?” he asks.

I barely have a chance to nod before he smoothly slides inside me.
