Wolf under an oak tree.

Chapter 15

Jace Emerson.

“I guess I will buy it then.” Wow! I think I must be the happiest man on this planet because my mate has agreed to buy the house which is next to mine. I know, I must be overreacting right now, but I think all the male wolves who have found their mates would understand what I am going through.

“Mate is staying close to us!” Sean literally screamed inside my head and started running in circles.

Yes, and I guess we are making a little progress here.

“Of course, idiot, I mean, I think this is the only sensible thing that you have done so far.” Sean taunted, and I internally rolled my eyes at the wolf.

I have done a lot of sensible things before this too.

“Yeah right, like scaring my mate the first time you met her?”

For your information, I was livid when I saw that ring on her finger. And she is our mate.

“Yeah right, but she likes me more than you, idiot,” Sean said, and before he could say something more, I blocked my wolf and focused back on my beautiful mate, who was saying something about the kitchen but none of her words registered inside my brain. The only thought that I had, was how good would that plum, pink lips feel against mine and how good that creamy, flawless skin will feel under my heated touch.

“Mr.Emerson? Did you hear what I just said?” her sweet melodious voice brought me back from my dirty thoughts.

“Uh, yes, and I guess you are right,” I said, and honestly speaking, I have no idea as to what I am agreeing on.

“Okay, I guess that is settled then, so shall we start the work next week?” she asked me, and I nodded my head again and followed her outside the house like a lost puppy. If someone from my pack saw me now, they would definitely think that they might have lost their mind, in seeing their Alpha smiling.

Iris Hendrix

I am still having second thoughts about purchasing this place, but if Jace says that this is a good purchase, then who am I to object to that, right? I mean, I am not an architect to know whether this building is a good choice or not, right?

“Iris, shall we head home?” Walter asked me, coming out of nowhere.

“Walter, you nearly scared me to death!” I yelled at him while trying to calm my racing heart, and instead of apologizing for his mistake, he laughs!

Yeah, people get this, the next time you frighten a person half to death, you laugh at them.

“You are so cute, Iris!” Walter replied, and I shook my head and started walking towards the car again.

There's no point talking to someone who has lost their brain cells.

After taking a seat inside the car, I slammed the door shut, and simultaneously, I heard Walter enter the car. “So, where do you want to go now?” Jace asked me, breaking the awkward pause that was in the car.

“Could you drop me near the hiking track?” I asked him. And Jace frowned at my request but didn't question anything. It took us only ten minutes to get to the hiking track, I got down from the car and after waving goodbye to Jace and Walter, I started my way up to a place where I can find the tranquility that I am looking for.

After I reached the tree that I came to visit last time, I looked around the dense forest for Sparkle, and to my disappointment, he was not there today.

Hmm, where are you when I need you the most?

I looked around a bit more, after which I just sat down under the tree and closed my eyes.

“You look beautiful in that sundress, darling.” a husky voice whispered in my ears, and when I turned around, it was Jace standing there, but what made me blush, is that he was only wearing his boxer brief.

“What are you doing here?” my voice sounded needy, and I have no idea why I sound that way.

“What do you mean? Didn't you wish to see me?” Jace asked, taking a step towards me and wrapping his arms around my thin waist. The tingles that I felt shoot over my body were magical, and I wanted him to hold me like this forever. Words were stuck in my throat, and I didn't know how to respond.

“I...I wanted to see Sparkle.” I whispered, trying my best not to moan. His hand rubbed calming circles around my back, and if he doesn't stop that right now, I don't think I will be able to stop the sounds that are dying to escape from my mouth.

“Well, you are seeing Sparkle right in front of you.” that made me confused. What is he trying to convey here?

But before I could ask him about it, my surroundings faded, and I felt like I was falling to the ground, which made me open my eyes.

It was just a dream. But it felt so real.

But I didn't get much time to dwell in my thoughts because right that moment, I felt something hot and wet lick my cheek, and when I looked to my side, I saw Sparkle was standing there in all his glory with his tongue out and a wolfy grin plastered on his face.

“Ew! Sparkle! why did you lick my cheek? Did you even brush your teeth this morning?” I asked him in a serious tone, trying to keep a poker face. And immediately Sparkle’s face fell, and soft whimpers left his mouth, and I couldn't hold my laughter back anymore.

“I was just joking, Sparkle. You smell great, my little cupcake.” I cooed, pulling his cheeks a bit too hard for his liking, but surprisingly he didn't mind that at all.

Well, if someone passes by us right now, they would surely call the mental asylum claiming that a lunatic has escaped their hospital.
