Chapter 3: Temper Is Pissed Off
After talking with Wolf I was so pissed off. Why is he doing this to her? Hammer walked in.
"So, what did you find out?"
" I told him about our conversation."
" You have got to be shitting me."
" He has been with that woman for three years and he never claimed her?"
" That's what he says."
" And when you asked him if would claim her if you told him where she was he said nothing."
" He did say he didn't want things to change."
"I told him when he came to his senses or decided he would claim her he could call me."
" I also told him I would not help him hurt her again."
" I wish that I had the chance at a retake."
" I would not have hesitated to claim Julie."
" He is a dam fool, Hammer."
" She is having his child and doesn't seem to care."
" If he comes here we make sure to keep her and her daughter out of his sight."
" If we have to we will take her to our cabin until he leaves."
I was smoking a cigarette leaning against the fence looking over at her house. I watch her often. I noticed in the store she had no sparkle in her eyes. And she sure didn't like my prospect or me. It seemed that she cried when she thought no one was watching. During the day she put on a good front for her little girl. She would play games with her, read to her, color with her swim with her.
She is a very good mother. I notice that she does not go out in the evenings and she always has her daughter with her. She also does not encourage men's attention. She has not made any female friends as I don't see any come to her house. That is not a good thing. She needs friends. But she doesn't want any association with the MC's.
Our club goes out to breakfast every Saturday. I noticed that her truck was gone as we rode out of the compound. We parked in Bob Evan's lot and I noticed her truck sitting there. We walked in and were taken over to our usual tables. She was sitting right across from us. I heard her laughing and noticed that her laugh was beautiful. But I also noticed it didn't reach her eyes.
I noticed that she looked at one of my members a full-blooded Indian. And then she looked away while a tear slid down her face. He does look like Wolf.
"Temper, why did she look away from me and start crying he asked me?"
" She was with Wolf for three years and he refused to claim her."
" That's why she is here."
" She left him."
" You are kidding, right?"
" No, I wish I was."
" Why would he not claim her if he was with her for three years?"
" I don't know."
" I would have claimed her within a year."
I watched as she stood up and lifted her tiny daughter down and onto the floor. I heard her ask her mom a question.
"Mommy why doesn't daddy Wolf love us anymore."
" Baby, he does love you."
" But he doesn't love you any more mommy."
" Why does daddy Wolf not want us any more mommy?"
" I don't know baby."
" Come on let's go home."
" I miss daddy Wolf, Uncle Beast, and aunt Donna the little girl said as they walked away."
"When can we go back home again?"
" When you turn 18 we will go back."
" Now can you please not ask so many questions?"
We all watched as the tiny woman and tiny little girl walked out the door. I watched as she helped her daughter into the truck and fasten her in her seat belt. Then I watched as she struggled to get into her truck. Once she was seated she reached over and shut the door before starting it and backing out of the space.
"That little girl of hers is pretty smart for her age."
" Yes, she is."
We all finished our meal and I noticed that Cherokee was still upset about our pretty neighbor crying and the questions her daughter asked her.
"Cherokee you seem pissed off."
" I am."
" If I ever see Wolf again I am going to punch him in the jaw for hurting that woman and her daughter."
"That woman and her daughter have names."
" The mother is Dove and the little girl is Rain."
" And Rain is going to be the president of her deceased father's MC when she turns 18."
" That will be in 15 years."
" Then the child she is carrying is the next president of Wolfs club since he is the father."
" That's right."
" Please tell me that Wolf really only wanted her for a child and never planned on claiming her."
" I can't tell you it is true or not true."
After that day in the restaurant, I noticed Cherokee watching Dove and Rain a lot. He would cuss if he heard someone dare say anything bad about her. It is as if he has become her bodyguard. I later found out that he once had a sister who was treated just like Dove. She killed herself and the child in front of the man who refused to claim her.
