Chapter Wedding
In the next few weeks we just matured the idea, I talked to the 3 most important people to me after Jack, Hughes, Alina and Ed, all agreed with the union of the Packs. Hughes wanted to retire already, Jack and I would take over, but no Beta in sight, Matt couldn’t manage everything, but the East Pack had a lot of financial potential, we would only gain, territory, power and even more prosperity for the people from the East, and from the first moment this idea came up, something inside me just felt right. Jack had already consulted Lucca, and taken the idea to the Council for evaluation, and he called me one afternoon to decide this better, we went for a walk by the lake.
“Honey, are you sure we’re making a good choice?” Jack asked me as we walked through the woods to the lake.
“Jack I felt something good inside of me, ever since Matt had the idea, it was like something in me felt like this was the right thing to do. I’ve talked to everyone I think is important and smart, and it looks very promising. I think that’s the way to go our best choice.” I replied looking at him.
“I agree with you.” Jack said as I kept walking and he fell a few steps behind but he kept talking. “You know, this is one of my favorite places in the world. I used to come here with my parents, after they died I’d have Hughes bring me, here I turned for the first time, here I brought you to turn you for the first time, and I kept bringing you up to talk, like now. So I thought it was the perfect place to ask you…”
Jack stopped walking and talking, which made me turn towards him and find him kneeling in one knee behind me with a small black velvet box in his hands, with a perfect diamond ring inside.
“Marry me?”
The words came out of his mouth, as my mouth opened, I put a hand in front of my lips in a sign of amazement and shock, I felt tingling throughout my body and it was as if the whole world had stopped around me, I was stunned and unresponsive, until I took a breath before saying.
“Of course I do Jack, I would marry a million times if I had to.”
“I love you.” He said getting up.
“I love you.”
He put the ring on my finger and I still couldn’t believe it.
“We wolves don’t propose, after the Soulmeet there is only a ceremony with the council that resembles a wedding. But since you were raised by humans, I figured you must have dreamed about it, so I wanted to do it. And you can do it all the human things you want.”
I knew wolves didn’t propose, that was the biggest reason for my astonishment, but I thought it was incredibly sweet and kind that he was concerned about this.
************************************************************
We were engaged, and in a few days the Council responded positively to the request to join the Packs, it was a lot of bureaucratic work, but we organized everything in a month. We entered with the mating request, and we decided to do almost all the ceremonies together. We would be Alphas, so the royal wedding was something important in the Pack, we chose to do the ceremony for our people, and then the Packs merge, electing Jack and I as Alphas and Matt and Anna as Betas, and the Pack would become to be called Northeast Pack.
Jack invited Judy to live in our Pack but she wanted to stay in the East region, where she had grown up, we became even closer to her, and we visit her whenever we could and we passed through there, with the process of joining the Packs, we went to East most days, and whenever we went, we had coffee with her.
Even so, we opted to have a small wedding the day before, just for our closest friends, Alina helped me with the dresses and organization, I put Stephan in charge who always did a great job with the Moon Ball, and in a few weeks we had everything organized, Lucca and two Mor Council representatives came to spend the weekend, they were going to celebrate our wedding on Saturday afternoon and the wedding and joining for the people on Sunday, they arrived early on Saturday morning, full of guards and after we had breakfast all together Lucca wanted to talk about a sensitive subject.
“I don’t want to spoil your day, but we’re finalizing the investigation into Otto, and we made a discovery this week.”
“Discovery?” Jack asked confused.
“We prove that Otto was involved with Alfred before Joseph died, and he was the one who helped Joseph frame your grandfather.”
Lucca’s words made my stomach churn, I had such a strong urge that I almost threw up right there, I had to run to the bathroom and put all the breakfast out, Alina and Jack came running after me, but in a few minutes I was better and went back to the room.
“I still don’t believe in this man’s evil, it’s repulsive that I have his blood in my veins.” I said sighing.
“Your father didn’t and you don’t have anything from him Luna.” Hughes said trying to comfort me.
“These last few weeks have been so turbulent that I’ve forgotten about this man.” I said thinking about the possibility of him giving us hell again.
“Rest assured that the Council has brought an extra guard, and you have armies of two Packs now, don’t be in danger. Now go get ready because we’re going to have a beautiful ceremony later today.” Lucca said practically pushing Jack out.
Lucca and Jack went over to our house so he could get ready, and I stayed at Hughes’ house, Alina called a hairdresser and makeup artist she knew and we spent the whole morning getting ready, if she hadn’t brought me lunch I wouldn’t even remember to eat, the day flew by and when I saw it, I was wearing my wedding dress and ready. I opted for a dress with a lace bust, and with the satin skirt, it was simple, elegant and very pretty, my blonde hair was tied in a romantic bun, and the makeup had a beautiful smoky eyeliner and a pink nude lipstick. Hughes and Ed were waiting for me outside, it was time for the bride to enter. I invited them both to join me, just as Jack invited Judy and Alina to join him.
I arrived in the room and both Hughes and Ed were wearing black tuxedos, they looked like spies from old movies, I was greeted with sighs.
“You look beautiful my granddaughter.” Hughes came towards me, hugged me and gave me a kiss on the forehead.
“You are a real little princess.” Ed said hugging me too.
It was about time and we left through the front door, Hughes was hooked on my right arm and Edward on my left arm, one of the guards opened the door for us and the sun’s rays hit me in full leaving my vision blurred for a few seconds, until I regained focus and saw the most beautiful scenery of my life. Stephan had made a pergola in front of the house and decorated absolutely everything with white flowers, there was a path made with white rugs from the front door to the pergola, which had a small altar. In front of it were some white chairs for our friends from the lumber office and the guard. I felt my girl dreams come true, but nothing, simply nothing compared the emotion of seeing Jack in a light gray suit, waiting for me at the altar, when he saw me his eyes widened and he opened a beautiful smile just before a tear flow from his green eyes, my heart accelerated, I lost a little breath and I confess that my legs shook when I saw him there, waiting for me.
