Wolf Dominion Volume 2

Chapter 26

I drink a lot of water and nap head down on the table, to get back some energy back, while Hades smokes by the window.

My peaceful little sleep is interrupted by the chaos of their swift return.

“LOCK HER UP, PUT HER AWAY SOMEWHERE SHE CAN’T GET OUT,” Skye roars as he kicks the front door in, comes stalking into the room, pointing at Hades, “DO IT!” he walks back out and I hear everyone screaming at each other in the corridor. And one girl wailing hysterically.

It’s Fyre – laughing and crying at the same time.

I scramble to the door and listen in.

“You’re in big trouble, Raygar – throw her in the canyon,” Skye snarls.

I go to open the door, but Hades comes up behind me and pulls me back, hands under my arm pits.

“Sorry, bug,” Hades hauls me over to the bathroom, a separate room in Lux’s old apartment. He deposits me in, slams the door and somehow jams it on the other side, “I’ll find out what’s happening for you.”

“Do you trust me?” I scream through the door, “Why did you lock me up?”

“I don’t fucking trust you,” Hades admits, answering back, lightly but honestly, “But I’ll work it out.”

I hear more screaming, this time muffled.

Why were they attacking Fyre? The poor kid!

I pace the bathroom, up and down.

Eventually there is some quiet, and then Hades returns.

“There was a mix up – you’re in here for your safety… for the moment,” Hades explains, a bit tight. In the distance, I can hear a horrible deep cutting noise. Skye is crying – sobbing!

“WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?” I scream again.

Hades goes dead quiet.

“She’s gone.”

“Who?”

“They told me… F.. Fyre… FUCK!” now Hades loses it, smashing a wall with his fist or his boot, I wait for him to answer me.

“I’ll tell her,” Vastian’s voice comes through instead.

“Is Fyre dead?” I ask, on a whimper.

“No,” Vastian’s answer instantly relieves me. Okay.

Until I hear the rest.

“What happened, Vastian?”

“Fyre killed you. The other you. Mila saw her sneaking, Fyre shoved your body into an incinerator. You’re all that’s left of Ryder. You’re also just human,” Vastian is also on edge, but he says it all and then walks away.

After a minute of silence, I ask, “Can someone let me out?”

I wait.

For Hades.

Vastian.

But… no one.

No one fucking answers me.

And I’m too shocked to feel anything.

I sit on the floor, and I look at my hands.

My small, useless hands.

I had my foot back but…

I was human.

And Luna Ryder was dead.

Too long

I’m left for over 3 days.

No food.

No water. Well, I have water – from the shower.

But no food.

I feel completely abandoned, and I’m starting to lose all hope.

That’s about the same time I get my prayers answered. But it’s kissed with death.

In the silence, I finally hear encroaching footsteps – right before the door is slammed open.

Alpha Fucking Skye.

I’m sitting on the floor, taking him all in.

Wearing black robes.

Wearing his red collar.

Oh my god.

His black hair is flowing back healthy, billowing after a wild walk back to me.

“You took it back?” I whisper, hoarse, “How?

“Wolf Dominion reigns – when I lost my Luna, and was left with a human – I decided I wouldn’t lose anything else,” Skye speaks so tightly. I have no idea if he is friend or foe. I watch him reach into his pocket and pull out a fresh plump fruit. Apple.

I stand up slow, using the wall to help me not fall over from being so dizzy.

I want to cry seeing that fruit.

Skye himself takes a lazy bite of it, and offers me the rest. I take it from him and I bite the other side, the juice running down my chin.

I almost fall forward with the sweetness exploding on my tongue.

“I thought I was going to die in here,” I gasp, speaking with my mouth full. A bad habit, “Thank you for coming back.”

“Ryder, that is your name, isn’t it?” Skye asks me, but he looks at me like I’m a stranger.

“Y-Yes,” I respond, talking behind the apple, flustered by his detached look.

“You’re a prisoner of Wolf Dominion,” Skye death drawls it.

A statement, a fact and a command.

I watch Skye suddenly turn, and as he goes away – soldiers appear, after waiting outside, they flood into apprehend me, hauling me along and putting me in weighted irons. Wrists and ankles. I’m so weak and speechless, they have to carry me along.

I simply could not believe this was happening.

I couldn’t get a word in. Not with Skye.

I don’t get a single response granted to me.

Why?

It was in my face, wearing his dark robes and commanding his army.

Wolf Dominion’s back.
