Chapter 15
Opular’s POV
I sit on the edge of my bed, while one of the twin sister’s lightly spanks her sister, who sucks on my cock, right down her throat, my hand petting through her hair as I slowly lay back and look at the ceiling.
Ryder, the Wolf Luna, a human Zyre, had me dumbfounded.
I was trying to make her feel like she could stay here… but there was something distant in her eyes. At all times.
She had been broken, by her own Alpha – perhaps she was too far gone.
I needed to see what the scientists were pulling up in the destroyed archives. Paper was all that was left from Wolf Dominion. It was one trip wire Hades didn’t disable upon our ambush – and I still didn’t know if it was deliberate or not.
“Hurry up,” I speak through gritted teeth – nowhere close to cumming.
I was sick of these two.
Ferroya lifts her head right off my cock, her lips pulled back in a snarl.
“If you don’t like it, if you’re not in the mood, why ask for it?” she’s let loose, but I thought I beat that out of them already. I’m shocked, that she’d even dare. Was I getting complacent?
“You don’t make the rules,” I snarl at her, “Get back to work.”
“Or what?” Ferroya had just broken the one rule I asked them to follow. Obey. She knows it. I know it. Her sister knows it too.
The solution here wasn’t an argument.
I would not lose respect.
“Leave,” I speak politely now, “Go.”
“No –” her twin breaks, “She didn’t mean it.”
“You can stay, Kyya,” I smile for her, of course I don’t mean it.
“I’m sorry,” Ferroya changes her tune, desperation slowly sets in.
But if you don’t obey the Imperator – immediately, there are consequences.
“Too late,” I grind out, and I’m not talking about her plea.
“I – I’m sorry!” she screams as I stand and grasp her arm roughly, dragging her with me to the balcony, “Please – I was just tired, Opular, don’t do this. I’m begging you.”
Ooh, they know.
Kyya is silent.
She does not beg for her sister because she knows she’ll be thrown off with her.
I take Ferroya outside, and I look over the drop – an impressive height from this old podium.
“Don’t worry, you’ll be dead soon,” I start to pull her to the edge of the balcony and she twists into me, grabbing my shoulders, grabbing my torso – hugging me tight. I murmur, “Now do you regret it?” she whimpers, all language skills lost, “Get inside… and this time, I’ll make love to you – I am a little selfish sometimes, sorry about that,” I murmur over her head and she sprints back inside.
I’m rock fucking hard now.
I couldn’t help it.
I loved scaring them to death.
Ryder’s POV
Seye was showing me how to dance in a shower in a way Opular would fall for, and I wasn’t going very well, when we heard screaming next door. That’s when Seye put a hand over my mouth and pressed my ear to the wall, turning off the water.
As we listened to Opular tormenting the other two concubines, Seye warns me, “You hear his sickness, Ryder?”
“Why is he threatening them?” I scowl, “If he’s so damn powerful…”
Seye presses a finger to my lips, licking her own as she stares at mine, “Because women are powerful and they fall into us, a spellbound man, a top predator, pushes back... and some men are just inspired by their own desires, and wish to meddle… many reasons to play with us…”
“Why does Opular like dangerous women more?” I wander of her answer, as her finger slips from my bottom lip.
“It’s not that he’s threatened, but rather entertained,” Seye slowly scowls also.
“Will it be easier if one of us distracts, and the other slits his throat –?” I ask.
“Only time will tell – we may not have the opportunity yet,” Seye shrugs a shoulder.
“We’ll see.”
“Do you enjoy murder?” Seye asks out of the blue, her eyes alight with curiosity.
That was a very interesting question.
“I hate it,” I admit, “…but how else will I survive on this forsaken planet…?”
“Don’t let the sickness consume you too,” Seye places a hand on my ear, along my head, looking into my eyes, “You’re only so scared because you’re better than broken. No matter what happens, I’ll make sure you leave here alive,” her hands start to move the water on my skin down my body, her touch is so gentle – nothing like a man. She does it so slow, so tender, I’m entranced by her movements as her fingers fall over my breasts to my waist, where she follows the line of my thighs, toward my private area – and then she backs off and bites her lip and twirls around, “…let’s continue…”
“I’m not very good at the dancing,” I whisper, in admitted defeat – as she turns back on the water.
“So we have our direction, I’ll touch him like I do,” Seye twirls her wrists, “And you kill him like you do. You might enjoy it this time when you kill him. A worthy opponent.”
“I guess –” that makes sense?
“He’ll also enjoy ending you, if you slip,” Seye interrupts my thought process, warning me, “Keep that in mind.”
I decide I’ll just walk in naked that night, while Seye wears her translucent scarf, wrapped around her body lightly, carrying the ends with her hands.
She sways ahead of me – leading the way.
When we enter the candle lit residence, it glows and creates an illusion against the Solividian walls of the bedroom.
Opular is not alone.
He has a guest!
Just arrived too, by the looks of it.
I’m frozen a few steps into the archway.
While Opular is dressed in his luxury robes, looking curious – Hades is standing by the bed, in his usual Cracklen gear, dusty with his boots trailing sand into the room.
Seye freezes a few steps ahead of me.
I try not to blush.
Hades is looking at me like I’m actually stupid.
“You’re coming home with me. Tonight,” Hades is stern, his tone is a death drawl as he adds, “Put some fucking clothes on.”
I glance to Opular, who can’t look at me, but raises a hand as if to dismiss me like he doesn’t care.
I walk out.
And I walk back to my guest room.
And I walk back to my clothes.
In a daze.
I’m speechless and red as I put on my cameo pants, my boots, my tank top –and I towel off my wet hair.
I didn’t know what to think, but I do feel extreme embarrassment.
When I return to Opular’s residence, I can’t get past the door.
I see in very briefly to witness Seye riding Opular’s cock in her strange ethereal way – her body twists as she moves, side to side – and Hades is quickly walking into my entire vision, striding out into me.
He slams the door shut, and looks me over in the corridor.
“Ready to depart?” if Hades’ look could cut me right now… I’d have lost my damn head. I thought he’d be more friendly in the privacy of this hallway, but if anything he is even icier.
“What’s going on –?” I dare ask, as Hades snatches my arm and drags me with him, using his long strides to make me run as he walks.
He doesn’t answer me.
I steady myself and try to match his strides, as he heads straight for the lift and the emergency exits.
He doesn’t answer me until we’re completely out of the Dominion, in the cave systems on the way back to Cracklen.
He takes me through narrow tunnels, old and unused.
Alone and far enough away, he finally stops walking and unhands me to look at me in the dark cave system lit by his lone torch.
We face each other, both of us still, and not too far apart.
“…I needed you back,” Hades starts, quietly.
“Is there an emergency?” I ask, preparing for the worst.
“No.”
“What did you pay for Opular to release me early?” I guess that is the most important question.
“I simply asked for a favour,” Hades’ is tight on his words, “That is all. I’m friends with him. With everyone. I’m a Shade. Remember?”
“So why am I here right now when I could be in the enemy territory, saving Skye, Raygar, Fyre – or killing Opular?”
“Because you don’t need to be,” Hades’ tone suddenly turns gentle, and I’m shocked as he reaches up a hand and intimately holds my cheek, to show his meaning, “…you don’t need that life anymore…”
Yes. No. But – when I got the letter from Opular…
Hades didn’t object – much.
I lie. Yes he did object.
But –
I stutter, “You l-let me go – b-before you –”
“I hoped you’d decide to stay on your own,” Hades wipes my hair roughly behind my ear, shakes off his sillies and steps out of my space, “I didn’t think you’d be that stupid,” he changes tone, “I was waiting for you to leave.”
“But, I made an exchange for Ryder,” my son.
“Opular couldn’t care less,” Hades rolls his eyes, “He was just seeing how far you’d go into enemy territory, now he knows you have your eye on the ‘throne’. You have a lot to learn.”
But. “I was desperate to save Ryder, Skye is half dead, Raygar and Fyre are enslaved, I have work to do – I enjoy freedom but I thought they were all dead. Because of you,” I snarl it now, “Why do you lie?”
“I thought they were dead too,” Hades snarls over me, drowning me out, “I didn’t know anyone survived.”
“You sold out your family for Solividian, for your fellow community of Shades – what the fuck is wrong with you? What are you hiding from the world,” I hiss it.
“Shut up, I did pay someone to get Skye out – he’s on his way home, he’ll make it to Cracklen even before we do,” Hades says it like it’s easy, like it’s no big deal.
I’m left speechless.
I open and close my mouth multiple times.
I shake off my confusion and jerk my chin toward the tunnel, hoping he keeps walking.
Hades turns.
I walk with him.
I’ve already worked out one thing. He didn’t sell out Wolf Dominion for Solividian. Or for Shades. But I don’t know if he’ll ever tell me the real reason.
“You’re a man of many secrets,” I murmur, a few minutes later, while traversing the tunnels.
“I can’t believe I saw you like that,” Hades interjects, growling under his breath, “You looked ridiculous.”
“I was just naked.”
“Naked for him,” Hades sighs, “You’d probably get naked for any man with a big cock.”
“Shut up,” I hiss now. I look up to see him smirking into the night, thinking to himself. Idiot. But then I remember Xrat’s pups, “Shit. Wait. I have to go back, Opular stole one of Xrat’s litter –”
“It’s sorted,” Hades is too calm.
I watch him slowly reach into his coat pocket as he walks, and he pulls out the silver scruff of a pup’s neck, showing me a fake sleeping, whiney pup – who is scared of Hades and whimpering so quietly you can’t even hear him.
I stare in complete disarray.
As he slowly puts the pup back in his pocket.
“He didn’t make a single noise?” I gasp.
Hades is still smirking into the night, “He knows not to mess with me.”
I didn’t want to admit it.
But he was being a bit of a hero.
