Wolf Bond

Two years later

It feels like yesterday when I had first stepped into this pack, not knowing that one day this place would become my home. These people will become my people. And my best friend will become my mate.

It is strange how life works, my short visit became a life-long stay.

I smile at some fellow pack members when they bow their heads when I pass by them while returning from a newly shifted wolf’s house. Whenever anyone goes through their first shift in our pack, I make sure to personally visit them and their family to know that they are okay, as sometimes first time shifts are really difficult to handle.

My bond with the pack as their Luna has also strengthened tremendously, especially after finding out about my blessing their protectiveness towards me has increased.

A few days ago they even discovered that Ella has also been blessed with Moon Goddess’s blessing which made them extremely protective of her than they already are. Everyone is always looking after her, and never let anyone from outside the pack near her.

Ella’s blessing is something which we haven’t discovered fully yet, we will only know about it completely when she will get older. From what I and Donovon have sensed, and Denise has told us, she has healing powers similar to mine but not as strong as mine. However, Denise can sense Ella is more powerful with the spells as even now when she is a baby she can easily protect and fight against spells. Especially since Donovon achieved the skills to fight against spells, her power has increased as well.

It feels like Moon Goddess has gifted her with a part of me and Donovon, as not only she can sense our emotions but also she has been blessed with our strengths.

"I am going baby shopping!" Jenna waves at me from her car, "And don't forget to make space in Ella's closet as her Auntie Jenna will be coming back with some more cute frocks for her as well." She speeds off even before I can stop her, causing me to groan in frustration. Everyone leaves no chance to spoil Ella with gifts, especially Jenna as she buys almost everything which she thinks Ella will like.

Recently, Jenna and Wyatt found out that they are expecting their first baby and we all are so thrilled and happy for them. Whereas, Gavin married a mateless she-wolf, Linda, from our pack as his mate is dead and hers rejected her for not holding any rank. She is a really simple and sweet she-wolf and owns a bakery in our pack. Her real mate was from a neighboring pack and she met him while he was visiting our pack, and let’s just say he got a deserving goodbye from each of our pack members after what he did with her.

While Luca has found his mate two months back when a group of travelers asked for permission to pass through our lands.

It turned out they were searching for someone, and that someone’s our Oliver. Even Oliver recognized them as he said his parents told him about them.

Oliver’s parents were guardians, and their clan leader passed an order to kill them along with their unborn child when everyone found out that they were having a baby. As the baby would be one of the few pureblood guardians.

It is rare for two guardians to be mates as this can disturb the balance of powers between them because both of them are equally powerful. However, not wanting to fight against their own clan and wanting to protect their family as well, his parents left the guardians clan which caused them to become rogues.

However, since their leader knew the baby would be strong and one of a kind, he wanted to kill him before the baby could reach its full potential. It took some years for their leader to find out about Oliver’s parents' location and after joining hands with rogues he attacked them.

Guardians loyal to Oliver’s parent killed the leader when they discovered what he did, and since then they were searching for Oliver as they could sense that he is alive.

Unfortunately, Oliver had to go with them firstly they are his people and secondly he needs to be trained, as guardians are different from normal werewolves. Both their human and wolf sides are specially trained which is necessary for them to survive. However, since Luca’s mate is one of the female guardians after talking with him we both decided that it is best that he goes with them as I can’t let that kid go alone, and Luca is one of my trusted friends with whom even Oliver is comfortable.

Sending away Oliver with them was heartbreaking as during this time he has become a part of our family, but sometimes we need to take difficult decisions for our family. This was not easy for Oliver as well because going with his family meant being away from Ella. But Oliver understood that it is necessary for him as he could feel he is different from others.

However, Donovon has convinced the other guardians that once his training his over his permanent home will be with us, in our pack. And I and Ella can’t wait for him to get back home, as she terribly misses him.

Ella’s squeal welcomes me when I step inside the house as she hurriedly runs towards me while Julia is hot on her heels. However, it seems like Ella was not happy with her speed so shifted into her wolf and runs in full speed. Quickly, getting on my knees I catch my hyperactive pup when she leaps into my arms.

“Ella, you are one naughty pup.” I ruffle her fur with a smile as she sniffs me rubbing her wet snout against my neck.

“Your grandma can’t run as fast as you, pup.” Julia playfully narrows her eyes at Ella while waving her finger, but starts laughing when Ella licks her finger.

“Thank you for babysitting her.” I gratefully smile at Julia as she has been a great help in taking care of Ella. “I know she is a little handful.”

“Oh, shut it... I love taking care of her and I will love taking care of my other future grandchildren as well. But it seems like neither you nor Donovon are thinking about giving brother or sister to Ella.” She places her hands on her hips as she glares at me, “Look at Ella, don’t you think it is high time to make her a big sister. She needs a brother or sister to play with, she must feel lonely being the only baby of the house.”

“Don’t worry, mom, I assure you that Ella will have more siblings to play with.” Donovon walks inside, while my cheeks heat up while his lips quirk up in a teasing smile.

“Good.” Julia nods her head trying to keep a straight face, “I hope you have another daughter, as after being a mother of a boy I feel like I enjoy being with daughters more. Donovon was a terrible pup...” She shakes her head while muttering the last line almost to herself.

However, we clearly hear this as Donovon has disbelieving look on his face while I am trying hard to suppress my laugh, and hands down I am failing miserably.

“Mom?!” Donovon looks at her with disbelief.

“What? I am just telling the truth.” She shrugs waving her hand dismissively at him while Donovon mutters something about she loves Ella more than her own son.

After staying with us for lunch Julia leaves for her home and Donovon goes to handle some pack business leaving me and Ella alone to spend some quality mother-daughter time... which means it is time to sleep.

The sound of the opening of the door forces me to open my eyes, to find Donovon stepping inside our bedroom. My eyes travel to the window to realize it is completely dark which means I have slept for the almost entire day. Since I have put down Ella in her room, so opening my mindlink, I check on Ella to find even she is still asleep.

Like mother... like daughter.

“Woah, it looks like your day was quite productive.” Donovon chuckles as I sit up straight and stretch my hands above my head.

“I missed you.” I smile and open my arms when he nears the bed.

Laughing, he wraps his arms around me and picking me up he settles me in his lap as I rest my head on his shoulder enjoying his warmth.

“You were sleeping all day.” He nuzzles my neck, and places a kiss on my mark. “So, how can you miss me?”

“I was missing you in my sleep.” I counter while running my fingers in his hair.

His hot breath tickles my skin when he chuckles against my skin while peppering my neck with small kisses.

Slipping his hands under my shirt he grips my waist while he lightly nibbles my mark which intensifies the tingling sensation which is covering my skin because of his touch.

Holding my chin with his fingers he turns my face to his, and captures my lips in a kiss which set all the butterflies free in my stomach.

The urge to claim each other takes over our senses and soon we find ourselves lost in the feeling of love and each other.

“You know...” He rests his head in the crook of my neck while wrapping his arm around me from behind, I can sense his smile in his words which makes me curious, “Mom is right about being Ella feeling alone...” He whispers while making, teasing circles on my skin with his fingers.

“However, she doesn’t have to wait for long to have a companion.” His canines lightly graze my mark while my whole body stiffens as his words strike my mind.

“Donovon?” I whisper tilting my head to look at him unable to complete my question.

“It looks like our little one is already on its way to meet their big sister.” A heartwarming smile graces his lips as he cradles my belly in his hand while glancing at it with an adoring expression.

Lifting his eyes to mine, he smiles while his eyes are shining with nothing but love as his lips meet mine in a heartfelt kiss as we share this moment of happiness.

I would have never thought that the beautiful bond of friendship that Wolfie and I have shared will turn into something even more special. This is not just a wolf bond, it is a bond of trust, promises, and love.
