Chapter 83
After going through my morning routine, I change into jeans shorts and a comfy v-neck t-shirt as the weather is a bit warmer today.
Brushing my hair, I tie them up in a ponytail when my eyes shift to my freshly marked neck. My fingers move to touch my mark when a hand grabs my hand.
“You can’t touch it.” Donovon slowly shakes his head with a smug look, “Only I am the one who is allowed to touch it.” Wrapping an arm around my waist from behind, he pulls me against him.
“It is my neck.” I roll my eyes as I lean my back against his chest.
“It is my mark,” he retorts then bending his head down he kisses my mark which instantly spread warmth throughout my body.
“I like kissing you here.” He again brushes his lips against the mark, “But I even like kissing you here.” Hooking his finger in the collar of my shirt he pulls down revealing my shoulder and he kisses the newly exposed area.
He runs his nose from my neck towards my jawline, and presses another kiss, “And here.”
“But I love kissing you here.” Holding my chin, he turns my face towards him as he places his lips on mine and kisses me softly.
I feel myself melting into his arms, as the way he is kissing me makes me feels so loved. While our bond is buzzing with the warmth which we are feeling inside our hearts.
Knocking on the door startles me as I quickly break the kiss. Donovon curses under his breath not liking the interruption, as the knocking continues but the sound of crying makes him rush to open the door.
“I am sorry, Alpha, but she is crying and I don’t know how to calm her.” A boy who looks like he is barely ten years old glance worriedly at Ella.
“It’s okay, she might be just hungry.” I give him a reassuring smile, as it seems like even he is about to cry, “And sometimes babies cry for no reason also, so don’t worry.” I pat his arm as I take Ella from him.
“She doesn’t hate me?” He asks looking at me, his question makes me frown as I settle Ella against my shoulder and she calms down.
“Why would she hate you?” I ask softly. Donovon and I share a look trying to understand why he is asking this question.
“Most of the kids of the pack hates me.” His eyes fill with tears as he cast his gaze down. “They say I am a rogue and I should be thrown out of the pack because rogues are bad, they kill people. So, I thought even little Ella also hates me that’s why she started crying when I held her.”
I look at Donovon whose jaws are clenched together as he looks at the kid, however, his anger is not towards him.
My heart clenches looking at the sadness in his eyes. Children’s eyes should only shine with happiness, they should not be damp with sadness.
Holding Ella with my one arm, I wrap my other arm around his small body and hug him.
“You are not a rogue, you are part of this pack.” I kiss his head, as his sniffles break my heart, “You are a family.”
“But my parents were rogue and they were killed,” he says looking at me with pain-filled eyes.
“Not every rogue is bad, neither anyone becomes rogue by choice. Sometimes people become rogues because they are strong enough to stand against wrong.” I smile at him, “I am sure your parents were good people because they give birth to such a beautiful son like you.”
“They were good people, they never hurt anyone. But the bad guys killed them.” Tears stream down his chubby face while he nods his head feverously. “Alpha saved me and brought me here, but no one believes me when I said my parents were good because we were rogues.” His arms go around my waist as he starts crying loudly.
“What’s your name, buddy?” I run my fingers through his hair trying to calm him.
“Oliver,” he whispers and wipes his face with his sleeves.
“Listen, Oliver, no matter what everyone else says I believe that your parents were amazing people.” I cup his face and kiss his forehead, “And you are the most sweetest pup I have ever met.”
“So, now stop crying because I don’t like seeing these fat tears in your beautiful eyes.” I swipe my thumb under his eyes wiping the remaining wetness.
“And if anyone troubles you, instantly let me know, I will deal with them.” There is a strange feeling of protectiveness that I am feeling over this pup, even Fire agrees with me.
Maybe, the fact our parents were killed makes me feel connected to him.
“I like you, very much.” He smiles brightly at me.
“I like you, too, very very much.” I lightly pinch his cheek.
“Woah, I am feeling a little left out, guys.” Donovon raises his eyebrows looking at us.
“I like you, too, Alpha.” He surprises Donovon by giving him a hug, “But I like her more.” He laughs and sprints in another direction when Donovon playfully growls at him.
Settling Ella in my arms, as she is being a little fuzzy, I walk towards the training ground where Donovon is.Ella cutely starts sniffing when I walk to the area where Donovon and Cole are sparring, Cole is in his wolf form as he attacks at Donovon.
Her bottom lip starts to quiver when I hold her tightly as she begins to squirm in my arms.
Of course, she has found her dad and now she wants him.
Her small whimper instantly catches Donovon’s attention and before her whimper turns into a crying session. Donovon throws Cole's wolf on the ground and is by our side extending his arms towards Ella.
I place Ella in his arms and he holds her against him while sniffing her hair.
Suddenly, Donovon’s eyes flash and Wolfie takes over and starts rubbing his cheek against her hair, trying to cover her in his scent.
“Pup.” He holds her tightly, but gently, “My pup.”
Biting my lip, I hold back my tears as this is the first time Wolfie is meeting Ella. And the moment is too beautiful and heartwarming to describe in words.
However, a quiet laugh leaves from my mouth when Ella starts growling.
“Why are you growling, Elly?” I caress her head as she presses her face into Wolfie’s neck.
“She recognizes me and knows that I am Storm.” His voice brimming with emotions as he glances at Ella in awe while she continues to make growling sounds while nuzzling Wolfie’s neck almost possessively.
“My pup” He closes his eyes and kisses her head and she emits soft growl showing her contentment while snuggling closer to him. “My precious little pup.”
