Wolf Bond

Chapter 118

Donovon’s POV

Throwing his lifeless body on the floor, while my hand still holds his heart, I glance at Ivory hoping to see her awake. My heart falls a bit when she still remains unconscious. Walking to her, I place his heart on the floor near her.

“No one can live after hurting my mate.” I smile while holding her face in my hands, after cleaning my hands by rubbing against my pants so that his dirty blood don't mar her face.

The fight around us comes to halt with the death of the last rogue who has helped Ophelia and Benjamin with their evil intentions. The angry breathing of my fierce wolves can be heard from every side as they walk over the dead bodies of their enemies to make sure none of them is alive.

Storm growls letting out a sound which is a mixture of pain and anguish as he slumps beside her.

Looking at him, I realize he has sustained multiple injuries and somewhere I know he did deliberately to himself like an act of punishing himself for letting her get hurt.

Holding her hand in mine, I kiss her knuckles while Storm rubs his muzzle against her other hand.

“Open your eyes, beautiful.” I remove strands of hair from her face, “You have to wake up.”

Storm whines while resting his head against her chest. And for the first time, I notice him crying as he sits beside her while covering her body with his in a protective manner.

A slight shift of her head towards Storm is the only reaction which he gets from her and then her body completely stills.

Whereas, I feel completely numb, keeping my eyes on her face while still holding her hand tightly in mine.

Gavin and Luca sit near her while lowering their head in defeat and shame as they let out a howl. While slowly all the other wolves follow their howls and sit into a submissive position. Whereas James wolf is pacing around in frustration and anger, growling from time to time whenever his eyes move to Ivory like he is scolding her.

This is not how all this should have ended, this is not right. She should have been here with me to witness our victory, to celebrate the death of our enemies who took so much from us. But here, she is lying silently.

“Ivory!” I shake her body harshly while fear grips my soul just by the thought of being without her. “You have to wake up, you have to be here with me and your Wolfie.”

Storm pushes me off her as he lies down beside her and closes his eyes in defeat. I can feel even my wolf is slipping away from me, as more than mine he has always been his Cherry’s Wolfie.

Suddenly, Benjamin’s heart begins to beat and the place starts to buzz with strange energies. Not even a moment has passed when we are surrounded by unusual sounds as something black starts o swirl around Ophelia’s body.

Gavina and Luca immediately stand in front of Ivory’s body as their fur is covered in a light glow. While every other wolf of mine forms a protective circle around her.

My eyes shift to Storm but he remains unmoving, however, I can still sense him inside me. But the bond which I share with Ivory is silent.

A wave of fury washes over me when my eyes land on Benjamin and Ophelia’s body. I just want them to bring to life again so that I can kill them all over again.

I hear some surprised gasps when abruptly a burst of light comes from Ivory's chest and spread throughout her body, encasing her completely. A second later her chest rises and falls as her eyes start to flutter, and a feeling of relief settles inside me.

Gradually, the light-emitting from her spread out and one by one each of our wolves starts to heal along with the ones who have lost their lives begin to resurrect.

Astonishment turns into worry when we realize that along with them she is even somehow healing Benjamin and Ophelia.

Maybe my wish to kill them again is about to be fulfilled.

Ivory opens her eyes and glances at Storm with affection, lifting her hand she places over his head. After a few moments, all his wounds seals and he looks completely healthy.

This makes him groan in protest as he licks the side of her face because we both know what does this means. The more she uses her powers the more she loses a part of herself.

Her eyes shift to mine and a small smile appears on her face as she lightly shakes her head when she reads the worry in my eyes. But then her eyes move to Storm and confusion settles in her gaze as she looks back and forth between him and me.

I would have laughed at her comical look if we were in a different situation, but at this moment the fear to lose her is filling my heart because I can tell she is calling all her powers to come forward.

However, something flickers in her expression as her features harden. Even Storm senses the change in her demeanor as he slightly steps back and looks at her with a curious expression.

She keeps her eyes glued to Ophelia's body as she stands up then her gaze turns toward Benjamin's.

A cold smirk twists the corner of her lips, which seem foreign to see on her face. I have only witnessed her face decorated with lively and bright smiles and the smile which is currently gracing her lips is completely opposite to them yet it is something which I find fascinating.

Soon just before our eyes, their body begins to heal as Ivory stares at them impassively. I can sense she is losing her strength but the determined look on her face forces me not to come in between her and them because as much as this revenge is mine it is hers also.

However, I refuse to watch her withering away so I try to heal her by lending my own strength to her through our bond.

Benjamin and Ophelia's body begins to take form again while their wounds close, however, the lost part of their bodies remain the way they are. If anything their faces look even more replusive.

They both glare at Ivory while unintelligent words come out of their mouths, which makes her chuckle. She turns her gaze towards me and extends her hand in my direction and instantly my hand finds her, holding her hand securely in mine.

Together we are stronger; together we are going to defeat them.

She hasn't said these words out loud, but her eyes are speaking her unsaid words. And I am sure even she can read what promise my silence holds... a promise to be always be with her.

The inside of her palm starts to heat up and soon the heat rises to the point that it feels like I have directly placed my hand over the fire. The only difference is that, this burning is bringing comfort to my soul, instead of pain.

Abruptly, she lifts her other palm and fire ignites from it. The flames dancing in the center of her hand keeps on becoming bigger and bigger along with the smile on her lips.

Looking down, I am surprised to see that flames are engulfing our conjoined hands as well. But her fire is not burning my hand, I am just feeling her strength running through her hand reaching mine.

Soon the place echoes with the horrifying cries of Ophelia and Benjamin when their flesh begins to melt as Ivory's fire burns them. The fire flares up and their entire existence is consumed by the unforgiving flames of Ivory's fury.

Ivory's face holds nothing but rage while her eyes stay focused on them. The air is poluted by the smell of burning flesh and something extremely putrid, as their flesh melts away from their bones.

"Every evil should be burned to ashes, so that it can never revive again." She clenches her teeth while anger is radiating off from her in waves.

Just like following her command their body combusts into angry flames, and soon their existence turns into ashes.
