Winning Her Heart Again (Jasmine)

Chapter 27: Avoiding Him

Chapter 27: Avoiding Him

Jasmine's POV

After that day happened, All I did was to avoid him. Especially when Stacy is around. I kept on avoiding him but he kept on following me. Or else if I don't see him following me I always catch him staring at me.

If he wants to talk to me, I will immediately excuse myself and leave him.

Today we will start to design the place. My team is here to help me. I already discussed the bride's plan. We asked about Travis' opinion but he didn't give a damn care.

"Rhian, maybe that one is better from this angle. I don't find it attractive there" I said. She did what I meant, and I'm correct.

I walked around and I saw them all working. We were lacking things and we needed additional money for it.

"Ma'am Jaz, The chairs are now ready," one of the workers said, and I nodded. She didn't tell me the exact guess she would be inviting when we had another meeting, and now she called me and said the numbers of their guess. We also have to prepare for the tables and flowers.

We've been working four hours but because this place is too big I needed more manpower.

"Here," someone offered me water. I looked at who it was and it was Travis. I hesitated to get it, but when I saw the water, I suddenly felt thirsty.

"Thanks," I said and drank the water. I thought he would bother me again but he just stared at the place.

I calm myself. And crossed my arm.

"Can't wait?" I asked him and he looked at me before he shook his head.

I remember the day of our wedding. I'm so happy that I couldn't even wait for it to happen. Though I know his mom doesn't like me. We push through the wedding.

That day, we promised to love and cherish each other no matter what happened, to always choose to be with each other no matter how many struggles we face.

I thought Travis was the one. I did my promise, I became loyal and faithful to him but in the end we will end up breaking up.

Maybe that's what destiny wants for us. Yes, I admit that whenever I see him, I still feel angry at him, but it already happened.

I just couldn't forget how he treated me those days-how he made me feel that I was not enough and how he fed me with his flowering words.

I believe in him, I trust him, I love him more than anything, and I thought he was doing the same, but he's not.

"Can't wait for what?" He repeated my question, but I shrugged my shoulders. Sometimes it's too hard to talk to him.

"Nothing. Where is Stacy?" I asked him and started to walk while he was following me.

"She had an important meeting today," He answered and I just nodded.

"Did you eat?" He asked me and I shook my head.

We haven't eaten. But our food is ready.

"You can tell them to eat for a while. Besides, it's already late," he said, and I called Rhian to tell the others to take lunch for the meantime. "Yes ma'am," she immediately went to tell the others.

"I brought food. Let's eat?" he asked me, and I hesitated for a moment. I didn't know whether to accept her offer or not.

"Common, just a lunch", he even added, trying to convince me. I sigh and look at him.

"Fine, but just this time," I told him, and I saw him smile-a smile that I haven't seen for years.

We went to a table and started to eat.

"How are you?" He asked me while giving me water.

I couldn't believe that he would ask me those words. When I first saw him my blood pressure rose up because I always remember what he did to me in the past.

But while we were talking in a calm way, that hatred went away.

"More than great", I proudly said while he was looking at me.

Even now I'm not used to those stares from him. I feel uncomfortable when he's looking at me like that.

"That's good to hear," he said while nodding.

I just felt this moment was too awkward.

"Well, life is tough but thanks to Diego," I said and smiled at him. But his expression changed suddenly.

"Could you please stop bringing that man into our conversation? He had nothing to do with us. Besides, maybe he's just doing you a favour, or he needs something from you," he said, and I hated the sound of his voice.

I stood up and didn't continue to eat. Why does he need to talk about him like that? He didn't know what Diego did just to help me, David, while he was here having a good life!

"You know what? I lost my appetite" I walked away but he followed me and held my wrist. I glared at him and got my hand back.

"Are you mad?" He asked like he didn't know how to read someone's expression.

"I'm not! "I said and continued walking. I heard him let out a deep breath and mess up his hair.

"Yes you are, did I say something that offended you?" He asked again but I didn't look at him.

He should ask himself, not me.

"Jasmine", he called me, so I stopped.

I just hate what I heard from him that Diego is just doing a favour and because he wants something in return,. That's what he wants to tell me, and I'm not dumb not to understand him.

"You know what Travis? Don't judge Diego like that. You don't know what he did and sacrificed for me! You know nothing! He's a good man, and he has his words, unlike you! So don't act like you are the good one and Diego is not!" I said and left him alone. He had the guts to say those words?! Who does he think of himself? He's nothing compared to Diego!
