Wiggin Academy and the Forbidden Curse

Chapter 4: Water Dormitory

Penelope and Mako both spotted the familiar navy-blue cloak and an old school uniform with the golden name-tag saying Prefect, Mako groaned and couldn’t help her throat from tightening when the strict teacher approached them.

Professor Grimaldi swiftly waved her jewelled hand across the portal and immediately the water cheerfully began rushing again. A deep sigh of relief escaped from Mako’s lips.

The Professor’s violet eyes turned to Mako. “Alright Hawthorne, since you’re the only Black smoke user this year you can choose where you want stay for the time being, well until something else is arranged,” she explained calmly. “I’m guessing it’s here with your friend-” Mako looked at Penelope and nodded to the Professor in agreement. Professor Grimaldi waved at the portal, mumbling something under her breath that didn’t sound like English. “Alright it’s done,” she informed. “You’re the only one who can enter without water alchemy, be careful.” Professor Grimaldi nodded to Laurel and headed off in the direction she came from.

Taking a deep breath, Mako wiped her sweaty palms on her trousers and realized how crazy this day was and thankful it was over. She entered again with Penelope and this time it was painless.

Her mouth hung open as her eyes feasted on dormitory for water alchemists; it was enchantingly beautiful, the lounge had massive white sofas and crystal glass tables with matching chairs. The room itself twinkled and shined like sapphire gems and blue topaz. There were various colours of aqua everywhere around the room, but the windows where a darker shade of indigo with hints of pink, yellow, green and red- reminding Mako of the glass sun catchers at her house, the walls were icy-blue and connecting seamlessly to the brilliant cove ceiling- that had a crystal white chandelier with a never-ending rainbow.

They quickly climbed up a tight twisted staircase and found themselves in the room, that wasn’t taken already by the other students. It was a cozy room accompanied with four poster beds, each of them had navy-blue drapes tied to each post and crisp clean bedsheets that smelt like lilies; and surrounding each of them were their luggage’s neatly stacked next to the beds. Surprisingly Mako’s was also in the room, she began to ponder over how they knew that she was going to choose this room, when she heard a rough noise scratching behind her. She found Penelope dragging her heavy luggage to the bed right next to Mako.

Penelope placed her hands on her hips like she was an adult scolding a little kid. “Well, don’t just stand there.”

Mako chuckled and quickly aided her friend in switching the luggage’s, so they could sleep right next to each other.
