Blake Sterling walks into his office…Cody Dawson, his Beta is already there, with Damon Barrett, his Gamma. He asks what’s on his agenda this morning and Cody tells him “You have the new lone wolf to swear in…she arrived in town yesterday. Helena will be coming in with her” Blake tilts his head “What do we know about this girl? Where’s she from? She’s Helena’s niece? So, I’m assuming, she must be a hybrid? What background did you find, Damon?” Handing Blake a folder he says “Not much background, really… she was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina…moved to Tifton, Georgia when she was seven. Raised by a single mother, who passed away three weeks ago. Alpha Brennan reports she and her mom caused no problems and stayed to themselves. She helped the pack out a few times..with location spells and warding borders…healed his mate after childbirth..due to some complications. A talented witch, by all accounts…powerful. No one has seen her wolf…she runs alone. The people in Tifton weren’t overly friendly so she stayed pretty much to herself. Father unknown…but Brennan says she is highborn…he could smell Alpha. She will be 18 in ten days and moved here as Helena is her only family”

“As long as she doesn’t present problems.. We aren’t a community of many lone wolves and it’s not something I want to make a habit of!” Blake remarks. Cody says “She will be living in town with Helena…training to take over the apothecary! I’m hoping she’s cute! Can use some new eyecandy!” Damon laughs “Even if she’s ugly, you’re still going to try and hit it! You know you will!” Cody shrugs and Blake smirks “Unless I hit it first!” They all laugh and Blake’s wolf Athos pipes up it’s time we find our mate. We’re approaching 22 winters and these she-whores aren’t doing it for me! I want my mate! “Sorry, buddy.. not interested…I will take a chosen in a couple years…but mates make you weak! Remember dad!” I remember he loved our mother! I remember he said it was a timeless love that he wouldn’t trade for anything. “And it killed him when she died! I’m not letting that happen to us!” Selfish! You are throwing away our Goddess’ gift! “Yep! Just how it is” we’ll see. Blake sat a minute…then asked…”When you guys are getting busy with a girl…is your wolf present?” Damon shakes his head and Cody replies “Nope…Baxter is saving himself for his mate” Blake ponders that a couple minutes…”Athos is being a prick…wants his mate and threatening to not let me fuck anybody…not sure I know how to feel about that!” Cody and Damon both start laughing “Damn, bro! That’s going to piss Cynthia off! Wanna be a fly on the wall for that fight!” Fuck!

A knock at the door interrupts their conversation, and as Cody opens the door…an alluring smell of honey and cinnamon wafts into the room…bringing Athos to attention! Oh fuck NO! Helena walks in, with the most beautiful girl Blake has ever seen! Plum colored hair…braided..reaching down her back, nearly touching her waist.. violet eyes…barely 5’ tall and he’s pissed!

He tells them to take a seat “Why should I allow you lone wolf access to my territory?” She smiles…a beautiful smile that lights her eyes…”Alpha Sterling, I have requested recognition so my wolf, Arielle…has a safe place to run and hunt. I am a lone wolf, sanctioned by the werewolf council, thanks to Alpha Brennan… but without your pack’s access, I will have to take my chances in the national forest…which causes a danger to her. However, it is a risk we will have to take, if you refuse.” Blake sits there several minutes, arguing with Athos I think she’s our mate! It’s not definite…we won’t know until she’s 18…but I can feel it! “I’m not feeling it. I will grant her access…but I want nothing more to do with her!” You think I’m playing? Fuck this up and you won’t like what follows! “I said I will grant access! Nothing more!”

He raises his eyes to her face and says “We will grant you pack privileges, but I will tolerate no trouble…no problem or disrespect!” She nods…anger showing in her eyes “Of course… I guarantee you will never see me! Other than allowing my wolf to run and hunt, I want nothing to do with pack, either. I will bother you no further…once swearing in is done!” Helena looks at Blake asking “I’m sensing hostility, Blake… you don’t know my niece…yet, you seem to have made up your mind she is a troublemaker? Why is that?” He sighs “Helena, I respect you and your craft. My problem lies in the fact that lone wolves are unruly and thwart authority. I want no problems” Alexis smirks “ Amusing…I avoid trouble. I have always done so. I live my life by the adage ‘don’t start none…won’t be none’ I will adhere to that! Trust and believe…I will not be a problem…unless trouble reaches out to me. Like you, I dislike being disrespected!”

He nods and proceeds with the ceremony that will allow her link to his ranks…and dismisses them. Cody looks at him “Dude! The fuck was that!?” Blake groans “I don’t know, bro! She just pisses me off and I don’t know why! Athos is being a dick! Gave me a headache! It’s already dinner time…Let’s head to the Wolf’s Den and grab a bite and some drinks!” Both guys jump up “Hell yeah!” I need to get a good drunk on..and sort through whatever shit is happening in my head!
