Chapter 1059
"Whoa..."
Sherilyn jumped, startled.
The familiar presence of Gilbert surrounded her. She knew it was him. She quickly tried to push him away. "Don't..."
"Do you have any idea how beautiful you are?" Gilbert wrapped his arms around her waist and spun her around to face him, his eyes dark and intense. "Just a quick kiss. It's the changing room-no one's coming in," he murmured.
Before Sherilyn could protest, he leaned in and kissed her.
This again...
Over the past few days, Sherilyn had grown used to it. She knew she couldn't really push him away, so she might as well go along with it and save her energy. She lifted her arms, wrapping them around his neck, and closed her eyes, tilting her face up to meet his.
Suddenly, the sound of the door opening interrupted them.
Gilbert had only gently closed it behind him and had forgotten to lock it.
This time, it was Caroline.
Caroline had come to pick up her reserved outfit and was planning to try it on, but she hadn't expected to stumble upon this scene...
A young couple-the guy handsome, the girl charming-were locked in an embrace, kissing passionately, as if the very air around them was sizzling with heat. "Um..."
Sherilyn was the first to realize someone else was in the room. She pushed Gilbert away and gave his lip a playful nip.
"Ouch!"
Gilbert winced, releasing her and casting a playful glare. "You bit me again? Was my kissing not satisfactory?"
Sherilyn rolled her eyes, gesturing toward the door with her chin.
Gilbert turned to look and saw Caroline sitting in her wheelchair, watching them with a cheerful grin.
His expression immediately darkened. He shielded Sherilyn with one arm, suddenly remembering that her dress zipper was still undone.
Even though Caroline was a woman, he didn't feel comfortable with her seeing Sherilyn like that.
He quickly shut the door with a click and made sure to lock it this time.
"Look at what you've done!" Sherilyn scolded, poking his forehead with her finger.
"What are you worried about?" Gilbert chuckled, unfazed. "We're a proper couple, not sneaking around. It's just a kiss-no harm in being seen, right?" He teased, trying to soothe Sherilyn. He reached around to zip up her dress. "Don't be mad. I'll fix your zipper."
"Hurry up!"
"Yes, ma'am!"
Meanwhile
Caroline, left outside and
feeling a bit miffed, listened to their muted conversation with a stiff posture...
Inside, Gilbert finished zipping up Sherilyn's dress and she turned to adjust it in the mirror. His phone buzzed.
"Hello?"
As he answered, his face broke into a grin at the voice on the other end. "Jenna, hey."
"Mr. Gilbert!" Jenna's voice piped through the phone. "I'm at the garage. Will you come and get me?" "Of course."
Gilbert didn't hesitate. "I'll be right there."
Hanging up, he turned to Sherilyn. "Jenna's arrived. I'll go fetch her. The little princess insists I carry her."
"Go ahead," Sherilyn replied with a smile. "I'll wait here for you both."
She was in a gown, which wasn't practical for moving around too much, so she decided to stay put.
"Alright."
Gilbert gave her lips a gentle touch with his fingers, smiling as he left.
Once Sherilyn was satisfied with her dress, she stepped out of the changing room.
After only a few steps, she encountered Caroline.
In the narrow corridor, Caroline's wheelchair blocked the way, preventing Sherilyn from moving forward.
Caroline remained silent, her gaze fixed on Sherilyn's lips-slightly swollen and glistening from the recent kiss. She couldn't help but recall the intimate scene she'd witnessed moments ago...
Although she'd known Gilbert for years, this was the first time she'd seen him so absorbed and passionate, as if he wanted to
consume the woman in his arms.
"Excuse me."
Seeing that Caroline wasn't moving or speaking, Sherilyn frowned. "I need to get through."
"Heh."
Caroline finally reacted, curling lips into a smirk. "You sure are desperate, clinging to him in a changing room. Don't you have any shame?"
