Obviously, Naomi didn’t expect Anastasia to be pregnant and looked at her in disbelief. “What do you mean? Are you trying
to fool me with this?”
Anastasia sat aside and looked at Alastor’s mother quietly
She had been a good wife and daughter–in–law during the four years of marriage.
Alastor had told Anastasia that she didn’t need to see his mother if she didn’t like her and that Anastasia could avoid contact with relatives as much as possible. However, Anastasia would still send blessings and gifts during special events.
Naomi fell ill with hysteromyoma two years ago when Alastor was on a business trip. Anastasia was the only one who took care of her in the hospital. The former slept for barely a few hours a day.
Anastasia thought people would do the same to her if she treated them sincerely. However, she didn’t expect some people to be hard–hearted.
The saddest thing Anastasia remembered was about the house where she and Alastor lived now.
As a marital property, that house was bought by Alastor to fulfill his promise of giving Anastasia a home. Therefore, only Anastasia’s name was written on the deed when Alastor bought the house.
Anastasia was moved at that time, but Naomi made a scene.
It was the first time Anastasia had seen Naomi’s elegant and cultured mother–in–law cursing like that.
In Naomi’s opinion, Anastasia only married Alastor because of money and the wish to climb up the social ladder.
“If you don’t believe me, we can go to the hospital now. Anastasia felt a little weak, and her whole body was in pain.
In the face of such a mother–in–law, she really didn’t know how she had endured for these four years.
“Oh, you’re pregnant. Look, Mrs. Lopez. This is all a misunderstanding.” Zeke hurriedly stood up apologetically. “Annie, why did you spend 600 thousand dollars?”
“Alastor cheated. He just spent a few hundred thousand dollars on his mistress. Don’t you know that?” Anastasia made it clear.

Naomi felt guilty as Alastor had a mistress when he was still married. However, she averted her gaze and snorted. “Alastor is such a capable person. It’s normal for him to have a few mistresses.”
Anastasia nodded. “I can understand you. After all, your husband has been living leisurely with his lover in Huxville with the excuse of recuperating. That’s normal. It’s hereditary, after all.”
Anastasia knew Naomi’s weakness. Alastor’s father had a mistress and cut ties with Alastor and Naomi after Alastor took over the company.
Naomi refused to divorce, so Christian Lopez moved out and lived with another woman.
When Naomi was sick and had an operation for her hysteromyoma, her husband didn’t come back to visit her.
Moreover, he didn’t even bother to call her.
“Anastasia! How can you talk to me like this? Zeke, look at your daughter. Did you raise her like this? How can she talk to her elders like this? Naomi was emotional and obviously provoked.
Anastasia smiled. She thought, “She’s trying to get my dad into this issue when he has nothing to do with it.”
“Mrs. Lopez, Anastasia isn’t a good talker, but she means well,” Zeke replied lowly.
Since Anastasia married, Zeke had become as lowly as a beggar on the street.
Anastasia looked down on Zeke, but she couldn’t change her family.
In Anastasia’s view, a family could be poor. However, they must have integrity.
As Zeke didn’t have it, Anastasia could never lift her head up confidently.
No one supported her, after all.
From childhood till now, she seemed to be forever alone.
She was alone going to school, leaving school, working part–time, going on blind dates, and getting married.

I don’t believe the pregnancy check–up report. Come with me to the hospital for an examination. If you are pregnant, it’s your blessing. If not, divorce Alastor quickly. If you do not want to have a baby, give up on the place of Alastor’s wife. Many women out there are willing to give birth to Alastor’s child. Felicia is a perfect candidate.” Naomi’s voice was shrill.
