Chapter 2-June 4th
Reagan's POV
I woke up with the help of my alarm. I turn it off and rolled over to my other side. After checking my phone, I got up to take a shower and get ready for work.
I went into the kitchen and saw, breakfast was already made, Faith might have fix this up before leaving. She makes really good omelette. After eating breakfast and having a cup of coffee. I head to my room to get my essentials for the day then I lock my house and get into the car and drove off to office.
.....
When I get back home, I saw the lights of my living room were on, who could it be? I unlock the door and went inside and smell the most delicious smell. "How did you get in thief?" I asked Faithlynn, who is cooking dinner.
"Your dumbass can't find a more obvious place to hide the spare keys?" Oh, so she got the keys from under the door mat.
"No one can know until and unless they are thieves like you". She scoffs.
"Only dumb people like you keep their house keys under the door mat, idiot. Next time put them somewhere safer."
"I'm going to take a shower, see you at dinner, thief" I said walking into my room and into the attached bathroom to take a shower.
I change into a tank top and basketball shorts. And went back into the kitchen where she already had the dinner ready.
"Aren't you looking hot with your wet hair". She said with a wink while I sit on the chair. Then when her eyes travel down to my legs she made a disgusting face and said " for gods sake shave your legs sometimes." She is just exagerating my legs are not even that hairy.
"Why should I. I like them hairy also I dont have anyone in my life for whom I do those things and its a lot of work".
"You and your lazyass! its not that big of work, work on your grooming".
"FYI, I do all the grooming shit you do. I just don't shave them because I only wear pants outside and basketball shorts when I'm home. So there is no need to shave them."
"Why are you arguing with me? Eat your food."
Is she serious? she started this and now blaming me for this useless argument?" God have mercy on me.
"So, what did they say?" I asked, eating my food.
"Who?"
"Didn't you go to the citizenship and Immigration service to know the details and documents you need to show them as proof? What did they say, how can you prove it?" I asked her, explaining the whole ordeal.
"Oh yeah that, when I showed them all the documents I have, they said it's not enough, they want something concrete to prove me a citizen and that I only have six months till they put me in the refugees camp for trial, and when I was exiting the centre, I ran into a women, she told me a way to get the citizenship" she said with a sad face.
"Is it a legal way to get the citizenship"? I asked not really wanting to do anything illegal. She nods.
"So, spill it out" I said getting impatient.
"She said that if I marry someone who have the citizenship and all the legal documents then I can get one too" she said worriedly.
"So get married" I said nonchalantly.
She looks at me agitated "HOW CAN YOU JUST TELL ME TO GET MARRIED, YOU ASSHOLE. I CAN'T JUST GO AROUND AND GET MARRIED ITS A BIG STEP OF SOMEONE'S LIFE" she yelled then exhale deeply. She starts pulling her hair. The sight is so funny, but I can't laugh, right? She is just being over dramatic.
I try to muffle my laughter and freed her hair from her grasp and hugged her while rubbing her back. She started crying, now i feel bad. " I'm sorry, how can I just marry someone for a citizenship and what about my parents, they will never approve if I marry some strange person and what if that person turns out to be a psycho and hit me and treat me like shit, I have watched and read so many incidents where a husband kill his wife, I just can't trust someone to marry them." She explained her worries. Her sobs turn into silent cries and now my shoulder is wet, I should've worn a shirt.
I pulled away and wiped her tears with my thumbs, well with my whole palm because my thumbs are not enought for this much tears, not even my shoulder is . Shut up focus on your best friend here. Now my brain is scolding me too.
"Drink this" I said handing her the glass of water. " Lets finish up this dinner then we can think about your marriage. Ok?" I said softly urging her to eat her food before we do some research about her getting married.
We finished up eating and I did all the dishes then joined her in the living room on the couch.
We looked into some matrimony sites but didn't get anything, we made a list of her friends, but they all are freaks so no no. After about 3 hours we got nothing.
"What else they told you?" I asked and again she started crying. God is she on her periods or something?
"They said I only have 6 months before they will take me to the refugee camp and if I lose the trial, I will have to leave the country." Oh no. This is an important information, and she is telling me now?
"So, I only have five and a half months to get married" she cried. I hugged her again and she stopped crying.
"Rea, I don't want to go to the refugee camp, what if I fail the trial, I mean I'm obviously going to fail the trail because I don't have the concrete documents and proofs, where am I supposed to go, I have never been out of this country where am I going to spend the rest of my life without you, without my parents?" she cried while putting her hands on her forehead.
"Hey, no one is sending you to those camps I won't let anyone take you there. We will figure something out. Okay?" She nods.
"Let's just sleep and think about it in the morning and maybe go talk to a Lawyer and see what other options we have?" She nods getting up of the couch and walking into the room I followed along. She lay in bed waiting for me to join her, then snuggle up close to me. I kissed her forehead and she release a sigh.
"Good night, Faith"
"Night Rea."
