When They Beg, I Rise!

Chapter 86

At that moment, Alaric arrived, "Lucian, exams are all wrapped up, right? I expressly made reservations at a restaurant. Let's all grab a meal together." Evelina nodded, "Sure, let's go."

But Alaric glanced around, "Where's Lemira? She's not out yet?"

Evelina, hiding her impatience with a smile, replied, "Lemmy left a while ago with that school doctor. Dunno where he got all those sports cars from, but they sure made an exit."

Alaric's expression darkened instantly, "Lucian, why didn't you stop her? Exams are over; we can't let Lemira run wild!"

Lucian felt discomfiture, "Yeah, exams are finished."

Lemira said they should look forward. Did that mean she was planning not to return to the Langston family?

Alaric had hesitated for a long time before deciding to come, but he missed Lemira in the end.

Lucian couldn't quite accept it and turned around, "Something came up at my company; I need to leave first. You guys go ahead."

"But Lucian, weren't these flowers for Eve?"

Lucian glanced at the flowers and handed them to Evelina, "Made a bit of a mix-up today. Also, here's to your exam success."

His mind was in turmoil. He had purposely bought flowers only for Lemira today, to show he wasn't favoring Evelina.

Forced to accept the flowers, Evelina pretended to be gracious, "Thank you, Lucian. Growing up with you is more than I could have ever dreamed of. After I get into college, I'll move out so Lemmy won't always be at odds with you guys. I'm aware enough to realize that." Alaric immediately uttered, "Eve, what are you talking about? You've been adopted by us. You're our sister, and we're a family! We'll sort things out with Lemira; it has nothing to do with you!"

Evelina looked down, her demeanor fragile.

Lucian finally spoke, "Alaric's right. You stay put in the Langston's house without worry."

Lucian, feeling awkward, left. He had actually considered Evelina's suggestion might be good. But that would be unfair to Evelina; she hadn't done anything wrong.

There had to be another way to make things right with Lemira! After all, they were family, bound by blood!

---

Lemira sat in the passenger seat of a red sports car, her hand catching the wind outside, feeling uplifted.

Orion's car stopped at a traffic light, "Message me after the reunion."

"I plan to go straight back to the Langston mansion."

Lemira's gaze was calm, "It's time to settle things once and for all."

Her plan had always been to leave the Langstons right after exams. She couldn't stand staying a moment longer.

"What's your plan?"

Lemira smiled, "Make a scene and leave, so they'll never haunt me again."

Orion's slender hand rested on the steering wheel. Lemira wasn't as weak as he thought. Her tolerance towards the Langstons was merely to avoid disrupting her exams.

She was smart. Unfortunately, the Langstons misunderstood, thinking Lemira was just being temperamental!

Orion dropped her off at the diner, and Lemira joined the reunion alone to feel the lively atmosphere when graduated, marking the end of her past regrets.

After the meal, Lemira took a cab back to the Langston mansion.

The butler was shocked to see her return, "Ms. Langston, why are you back?"

"This is the Langston house, isn't my return normal?" Lemira retorted, straying from her usual demeanor, and headed straight to her room.

However, she found Evelina's belongings in her bedroom!

The butler hurried to explain, "Ms. Sterling's room had a leak two nights ago, so she temporarily moved to your room. Mr. Lucian Langston said it wouldn't be a big deal since you're both girls." Lemira slowly looked up, her gaze cold. She proceeded to throw Evelina's used bed linens and personal items out into the hallway.

The butler was both shocked and angry, "Ms. Langston, how could you do this!"
