Chapter 157
Orion stood in the dimly lit study, his silhouette blending into the darkness.
He knew what Lemira had been through, and the spark of anger in his heart ignited in an instant. Someone dared to harbor vile thoughts towards the one he cherished.
The middle-aged man finally remembered it, hurriedly begging for mercy, "I just have a big mouth. I apologize, it wasn't intentional."
Who could have imagined these two young men would be so influential! Their demeanor suggested they were far from ordinary. The watch Orion wore had been out of production for years, something money couldn't buy. The middle-aged man regretted stepping out tonight more than anything.
Orion stood up, a scornful smile playing on his lips, "If apologies were enough, what would we need the police for?"
"Can I personally apologize to her, then?"
"You're too repulsive to even appear before her. There's only one option for you now: turn yourself in at the police station. You'll find it's the easiest way out."
After saying this, Orion turned and left the study. His aura was filled with defiance as he returned to the living room downstairs.
After washing the blood off his hands, he quietly opened the door to the master bedroom, instinctively stepping inside. But he stopped after a few steps, not wanting his negative energy to come too close to her. From a distance, Orion watched Lemira sleep, and just watching her for a while, his raging emotions began to settle.
He withdrew his gaze and quietly left the room.
The next day, Lemira got out of bed, yawning. She had slept fairly well. After changing out of her pajamas, she stepped out of the bedroom and noticed a blanket on the couch, but Orion was nowhere to be seen. "Awake?" Orion emerged from the study, his gaze profound.
Lemira cleared her throat, "Yeah, you probably didn't sleep well last night, right?"
The couch seemed too short for his height; it must have been uncomfortable.
"I didn't sleep much."
Now dressed in a crisp white shirt, Orion shared, "The guy from last night was caught."
"Really?"
Lemira was somewhat incredulous, "That's fast. Wasn't that area supposed to be a blind spot for surveillance?"
She looked at the man before her, wondering if he had done something last night. Catching her gaze, Orion turned his head slightly, "He's unlucky this time, left a trail.

Lemira sighed in relief, "That's good. Otherwise, I'd be scared to walk around the neighborhood at night."
There must have been other victims in the neighborhood besides her. With that scum caught, the area would be safer.
Then, Lemira's phone rang, "Ms.
Then, there's a national finales
today, and we have a guest event at PixelStage. Could you come and take a look?"
"To the event?"
"Yes, I've sent the e-ticket to your phone. If you're free, come and check it out."
After hanging up, she looked at Orion, "PixelStage sent me a ticket, asking if I want to watch the competition today."
"Do you want to go?"
Lemira smiled, "Of course, why not!" She was a special guest, after all.
Seeing her smile, Orion felt relieved she wasn't affected by last night's incident.
During lunch, Orion was constantly replying to messages. Noticing this, Lemira casually asked, "Are you messaging that girl?" Orion paused, looking up at her, "So interested in my love life?"
"Just asking."
Lemira lowered her gaze, feeling guilty, "Is she local? How did she meet you?"
Orion remained silent, observing her calmly. Her heart sank, "Fine, don't tell me. I won't ask again."
Suddenly, Lemira lost her appetite. Putting down the utensil, she stood up, "It's almost the time. I should head out now to avoid traffic."
Before leaving, Orion spoke softly, "Remember not to be too soft-hearted."
Looking at his handsome face, Lemira thought of him messaging earlier and felt somewhat disappointed, "I won't be soft-hearted. Being soft-hearted towards men is being cruel myself."
