When They Beg, I Rise!

Chapter 104

If Alaric thought he could push her around, he was in for a surprise. Screenshots of their conversation quickly made their way into the comment section. [Hey, drama queen with the crocodile tears, open your eyes wide and see for yourself. It was Alaric pestering Ms. Lemon all this time; she never agreed to join you.] [Now jealous of Ms. Lemon's success, you want to guilt-trip her into handing over the fruits of her labor? How shameless can you be?]

[Stop playing the innocent victim card as if you hold the moral high ground! We see right through you!]

The chat in Evelina's live stream blew up with reactions.

Seeing the number of viewers spike, Evelina couldn't hide her glee. She knew this drama would rake in followers!

Alaric, on the other hand, felt his pride wounded. He hadn't expected her to leak their conversation.

Now, he was convinced that SweetLemon wasn't Lemira. If it were Lemira, she wouldn't have done this, considering it could tarnish the Langston family's reputation. Well, if she refused to accept his nice gesture, he wasn't going to continue it either.

Alaric logged into the game and headed straight for the tournament.

His ranking was 90th. He messaged the other players around his rank, asking them to stay off the game. That way, the only contender SweetLemon could face was him. If she wanted to advance, she'd have to beat him!

Originally, Alaric had planned to sign her and then hype up today's match. But that was no longer necessary.

His secretary ventured, "Boss, she's a newbie. Are you sure you want to do this personally?"

"Yes, I'm going to teach her a lesson myself!"

Alaric was confident. After all, as a seasoned pro, how could he lose to a newcomer? Despite the streamer showing some talent, she was no match for a professional. The match started soon after.

When Lemira saw who her opponent was, her gaze turned icy. "What a coincidence," she remarked coolly.

She was aware of Alaric's ranking,

but with multiple players at 90th, the match up was random. Alaric had purposefully made sure of this match.

At the time, many online viewers caught the sight.

[Ms. Lemon, don't be scared. You've got the skills.]

[What's a pro doing here trying to show superiority? Isn't this against the rules?]

[SkyBlaze's captain is clearly out for revenge!]

Lemira remained calm, "Don't worry, everyone. The game's not over yet. Who wins and who loses is still up in the air."

A troll commented: [Don't be too cocky, or you'll end up eating your words.]

Lemira ignored the troll.

She eyed the character on her screen, Alaric's gear still set up as she had arranged. But today, she was determined to dismantle it piece by piece.

No one knew Alaric's gameplay better than her! Lemira grabbed her weapon, "Let's start."

Her slender fingers danced swiftly across the keyboard, predicting almost every move Alaric made.

Yet, his understanding of her tactics

was

minwhere close. Within five

Alaric was on his last legs,

hiding behind a building.

Lemira didn't pursue. She stood her ground.

Alaric was frustrated, "How is this possible? How does she know every move and strategy?"

"Boss, maybe she studied you beforehand. That's why she's so familiar with it!"

Alaric shook his head, "No, that last move I saved for the finals. I've never used it before!"

That was when it hit him, "Wait, there's one person who would know."

Lemira would know! After all, she was the one who had come up with those secret moves. Alaric's breath hitched. Was she really Lemira?
